my music teacher barely showed my class this. it was so funny and im in sixth grade. hahaha i was like lol and then this kid in my class got the right # of people and gods that died and i was like omg how did u know that and he said that he just guessed.
I think that if people actually knew the plot lines of the operas, they'd be more willing to go and watch. To that end, this cartoon does just that: stimulate interest in opera in people who might never consider attending an opera. As an opera fan, I appreciated the attempt at condensing the plots in a Reader's-Digest-on-steroids style.
great video. really does point out just how insane opera librettos are. and we all know that the music is fantastic, no need to complain about that being "ommitted"
Well, as i see you can read the Synopsis from a BOOK. First book you picked up eh! Well done you! Your musical extacy and incredible knowledge evolved from your recently developed whisteling nostrils!
And basing your entire personal statements on a guess and assumption...as so far ( for you) by 'opera' you probably meant the chat show host (oprah)? At least im certain thats the closest you have come to the word Opera !... where according to you :'people dont say anything...they sing'
Hilarious and brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this! I particularly like tags with "Incest!" "Murder!!" "Adultery!" etc., and the narration is just perfect. Five stars from me, too!
It was funny, and I know it's not the point, but they should have included The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, La Boheme, and Rigoletto at the VERY least.

I must say this is very stupid. I mean, how do you dare talking about opera without its music?
Do you really think the plots are everything in the operas?

Una típica visión "inculta" de la cultura. Hace reir por la inventiva, pero el fondo es absolutamente estúpido.

this is why we love opera- the grand passions, sex, betrayal and lots of death- oh yeah, then there's the singing, too.
