I can sorta see what you mean and even agree with you up to a point. The song however is catchy with funny lyrics. They were signed because they sell. If they stop selling they'll be dropped. That's just the way the industry works. Short term only nowadays. That was a rather short discussion wasn't it? Early Cure yes: minus the lipstick and eyeliner and yes: it's attitude over competence. Good point re: the industry. The magazines love to build the bands up because it's then so much fun to rubbish them. Record companies are only interested in money and will package an "artist" to make the biggest buck. That's why American Idol is such crap. It's the record company in microcosm. I don't think Black Kids are a carbon copy of the Cure, but I can understand your point.
