  • 2:00 was great, we have a pyromaniac on our hands!

  • O.O

  • Which country is/was your sister in?

  • You see, in America and England and what not, we flavor our goat, in Africa, they Soap it!

  • ;(

  • Not much different from cleaning the animal after hunting, though to be fair you hardly go out, hold down a deer and kill it with a knife then clean it.

  • Just like Bear Grylls

  • Wats in the fridge?????!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Look this. Then look KFC - Chicken killed. Which one is more inhuman ?

  • @trixietucker this is as real as food gets silly. :)

  • @dylanmasterguy how else do you think you get the meat you eat everyday? You know that this is a much more humane method than most of the big companies that produce the meat we eat?

  • I grew up on a farm in Romania, and I've seen chickens, pigs, ducks, and cow calves slaughtered. All the people saying that they shouldn't be doing this, this is basically what happens to get that bacon you eat in the morning. It's what humans have been doing for hundreds of thousands of years. It's what happens everywhere in the world every day. Frankly, I would rather live a comfortable life on the farm, than get slaughtered suddenly one day, than have to live and suffer in the wild.

  • this video was pretty informative and down to earth i liked it

  • nice kitten 4:14

  • Congrats to Gordon on winning his scholarship!!! wish i could have had my internet working in time to vote for you :/

  • THE POOR GOAT WAS SCREAMING BEFORE IT DIED!!!

  • This wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's the smell I struggle with when I do dissection

  • Don't let PETA know what goes on outside of the US, they will start a world wide campaign to end animal slaughter, but in doing so millions of people would starve to death. Excellent video Destin, it is interesting to see how other people live, it is way different than anything we could imagine.

  • they can afford skittles but not real food?

  • @trixietucker

    Care package to my sister...

  • @trixietucker how is goat not real food? Americans are one of the few who don't get goat. I find it really delicious.

  • Poor goat.... D:

  • lol i was doing this at 10- 11 yrs old lol

  • Comment removed

  • @distinws2 I thought they were joking about a gun in the fridge, but nope, there it is in the top butter door, lol. Any particular reason? An experiment of some sort? Or just to have one handy in the kitchen? ~Kevin~

  • @unclearless

Purely for fun. It's just to help perpetuate people's stereotypes of Southern men. I keep them locked up.

  • i watched this while eating. never again

  • @dylanmasterguy

Do you eat meat? Cheeseburgers? Steak? Chicken? Geuss what- every single animal makes terrified sounds when they are being slaughtered. No animal wants to die. But, if we want to eat, we have to do it. Also, this is the only way these people get to eat.

  • I found this video from Gordon's soundcloud submission, glad to see the goat's death brought more than food. Also best of luck to Gordon and I look forward to hearing some more awesome sound design in the future. Let us know if he makes it in anything big!

  • :-(

  • Thanks this was very helpfull

  • The goats cry omg so freakin saaaddd uuuhhh

  • @drkmagik100 Mmm goat...

  • Thanks!

  • HOLY SHET!

  • Not as bad as I thought it was going to be but I guess it has more effect when you are actually there :/

  • thumbs up if you're not from the west

  • Lmao at the gun in the fridge. U must be american because in canada it would be very hard to get a hold of a gun.

  • For me...this way to slaughter animals is quite modern already .

In my village, We use stones and sharp tree branches to slice the veins.

leave it to bleed to remove blood.

It is believe to be the cleanest way to kill an animal

    SMARTER EVERYDAY

  • poor goat :(

  • not great right after dinner.....

  • ur pure evil, the poor lamb was crying like a baby

  • @dylanmasterguy like the children once they starved to death without goat meat.

  • @dylanmasterguy To survive is to be evil? A curious way of looking at life...

  • @dylanmasterguy Would you preffer those people dieing in third world countries just because you think a goat can be compared to a baby when we are the deadliest predators on earth. This is how life works and if you can't handle that then you might as well be anti-human. I do however think you should give an animal a quick death as it is the most respectable towards the animal, but I will not tell people that there ways are wrong as I have never been in their situation and it is wrong to comment.

  • @Halofanbiggest i do see what point you are making, and it is a good point, but i still would have to say, im anti-human then, because all of us humans do is just kill animals, each other, and polute, and destroy nature, so i guess im anti my self lol

  • 151 ppl dont approve of goat sloter

  • @TRLLRT1 slaughter, u are now smarter every day

  • @mexicanninj i use txt language a lot so ya

  • How did the goat taste? My aunt (she does grass roots ministry in Liberia) told me the male goat meat has a strong taste, but if you hit it on the head (pretty sure in order to kill it) that's supposed to get rid of the strong taste.

  • @carpetleggs the strong taste is probably the blood if i slaughter any animal mostly sheep i usually bleed it first so its less messy when you butcher it and it tasts better

  • Shit destin, why would you name your goat before you were going to kill him? now you can say poor billy, because he was billy.

  • give us gordon

  • why is there a box of skittles next to the goat at 1:36 lol

  • I knew you had a DSLR! I could tell by the zoom ring sound. But I want to ask, how do you deal with the focus in videos for moving subjects? Are you just good enough to pan focus when needed, and use like an f/9 aperture?

  • @Rulerofwax24

The sound you're hearing is African dust inside my lens from 2 weeks in The Gambia. It got everywhere. The aperture is automatic, but hovers around 5.6. Yeah, I manually focus on the fly.

  • i am intrigued by the procedure and glad to learn something new, and may help me out if i decide to go hunting someday,... but did you have to name it? ;(

  • awesome video... i'm getting smarter everyday

  • congrats to gordon

  • :'( poor billy D':

  • Everyone does realize this is how that steak gets on your plate, right?

  • Wow, i hope i never go to Africa!

  • @mwillis1000 You are an idiot.

  • @NeVarajMe

What? I hope i dont, im being truthful, Africa looks like (One the whole) an awful place. However, one of my friends came from a good part of Zimbabwe, so i wouldnt mind going to where he came from.

  • TIA

  • in Muslim countries we get to see this every year on eid. but the difference was that after we cut the throat we hang the goat upside-down to get the blood out. but either way i still feel sad when the goat is killed :(

  • It was an iterating video but the goat creaming in the beginning made me sad

  • The sound he is talking about is PURE TEROR

  • You don't have to make disclaimers, this is how the real world works.

  • @Maximus253 true shit

  • @Maximus253

I agree. I do however try to be sensitive to other people's ignorance.

  • @destinws2 I would err on the side of naivety rather than ignorance.

  • The best thing to watch after Epic Meal Time :) It kills your hunger!

  • i'm gonna be a vegetarian .

  • How does this make me smarter again? :/ I feel I just lost some braincells in the process of watching this to be honest...

  • @SIC66SIC66 even if we didnt learn any hard science (and we did), we were REMINDED (because we should already know) that much of the world still does the real work and all the gross stuff that much of the west would rather ignore.

  • nice

  • Me and a lot of my friends love this kind of dark, ambient, moody horror music. I will mos def share the link.

  • WTF

  • like if you noticed a skittles box under the guys foot at 1:38

  • Yep there was a gun in the fridge lol

  • Comment removed

  • I wanted to see the feast. I think that would have been a fascinating end to a fascinating video of how other cultures do things.

  • @GhoStedar Inferior cultures!

  • @iasedu ???

  • @GhoStedar Indeed.

  • more likes than views? what is this, russia?

  • I voted. They must have really liked you if they were willing to slaughter a goat for you.

  • wow chill out guys. lets respect other cultures and their ways of living, not everyone has a walmart to go pick up some meat to cook.

  • Would you like some milk with your beef? hmmm no well how bout some ice cold lead ^^

  • Im Hmong and its part of our culture to kill animals for food and religion, he actually did a really nice job on that Goat.

  • If Gordan earns this scholarship I Hope he could return the favor in someway to help the village.

  • Why pan away from the "bad stuff"? I'm a proud westerner, but westerners need to grow a pair. This society has really become spineless if they can't handle animal slaughter.

But thumbs up for being prepared in the fridge.

  • @Supermassively I've (with a friend) trapped a hog, tied it up, shot it, hung it up, skinned it, took everything out that was of some use, and cooked what we had, (over time of course.) I will still say that was hard to watch, man. I've only done that once, but still.

  • @JNGonzalez09 I've slaughtered a hundred or more steer and hundreds of hogs. It just makes the meat even tastier to see where it comes from. It's not just meat production. Our society in general has become spineless and oversensitive to perfectly normal things. They don't even have surgery footage on the Discovery Channel anymore. A horse can walk by on a nature documentary and take a dump, and they'll blur it out. Dirty Jobs refuses to go to a slaughterhouse. We've become neutered sissies.

  • @Supermassively You got a good point there. I could make tons of excuses or w/e, but you're right, we've become oversensitive to all that, I just prefer my slaughter hands-on and in person, is what I'm saying, I can understand it not being on television. I'm a small town dude, not some redneck kid who lives on a county road. My friend is that dude, btw, lol. And I agree, the meat is tastier, lol. I guess I agree overall, lol.

  • stop denying the pistol in your frige, destin.

  • Another awesome video.....exactly what does refrigerating your revolver do?

  • lol. keeping that gun cold

  • it was a babby :/

  • Awesome i want to go Africa so bad...

  • 308th viewer??

  • for some reason I decided to start eating a tangerine as the video started...

  • Did that lamb took an arrow in its knee?

  • what kind of revolver is that? ice bullets?

  • Comment removed

  • I love tripe.

  • I have that same glass cup

  • id eat it :)

  • This was awesome... Vegetarians are gay if they think this kinda stuff is wrong

  • I was fine right up until you started talking about the Cow's single stomach and the cud.

    really interesting video

  • That revolver is to make sure everything is dead before cooking?

  • @hondannyboy

    What revolver.

  • the sounds of the audio that Gordan made sound a lot like the sounds my stomach made this weekend (i was sick and vomiting that's why)

  • Lol people are freaking out like "omg I'm going to be a vegetarian that was so sad" but you know we have to kill animals to get meat you are just privileged to live in a country that's got a store to walk in and buy it not kill it your self .(oh that must have a good meal it being so fresh)

  • Do they really say "Africa" instead of "Sierra Leone"?

I mean, I'm from Brazil, but I rarely say I'm from South America.

  • i LOVE how people are like OMG so sad, poor goat. take a look around, look at all the trash. now that's sad, pollution of the planet. at least what these people are doing is for survival and trying their best not to be wasteful.

  • @hawthornechemical and what are you doing?

  • THIS IS KINDA DEPRESSING

  • Pretty cool im glad i subbed to this channel

  • why is everyone so uncomfortable with this? I for one did not understand why he put up all the warning annotations until I read these comments - are so many people really that out of touch with where their food comes from? the entire process is standard in any part of the world (minus the throat slitting)

  • @Higgins2001 We still slit throats in modernized, humane slaughter here in the US.

  • so sad now i want to be a vegetarian

  • It annoys me that all the vegetarians are freaking out about this..

  • that looked delicious!

  • Your sister lives in africa? Pretty cool, aways wanted to go and check it out.

  • I have to admit, as grossed out as I was, this was a very interesting video. The hexagonal stomach lining was pretty cool, too.

  • I do condom this type of slaughter when this is the only way people can eat and survive ;)

  • the stomach looked like spidermans suit

  • omg i cant believe u showed the poor goat crying for its life. i think im gonna unsubscribe. this is just to much. i have liked ur videos before this one.

  • @amandacosner your choice. Ubsubscribing for what, exactly? For showing things as they are?

  • @amandacosner Oh, my gosh. They're killing ONE goat and they're using all most the whole goat, not killing hundreds of chickens to use a few parts of it.

  • @amandacosner relax, that's what they got to do for survival. If you like eating grass then keep it to yourself.

  • LOL! great vid! but i wouldnt say "westerners" more like Americans.. in Mexico we've all done/seen this done.. the first time i saw a pig get slaughtered i had nightmares from the squeals!

  • poor goat, i know i shouldnt of watched this:(

  • TIA indeed

  • very interesting video. thanks a lot from germany :>

  • We do it just like that where I live. Except that special care is taken to make the slaughtering process as quick as possible. The goat must not see the knife or another goat getting slaughtered. The knife must be very sharp. The incision on the throat must be accurate and deep so that the blood drains quickly and the goat does not suffer longer. Moreover, we don't burn the goat for skinning. We cut the legs off and skin the goat with knives and hands while the carcass is still warm.

  • :( poor goat, oh well - atleast it died for a good cause. I have no problem with that - just like when people kill animals just because, thats messed up.

  • Pretty cool. I'd like to try something like that one day. I think many meat-eating westerners are far too soft.

  • LOLed when i saw the revolver in the top compartment of the fridge!

  • @FLOURESCENTIDIOT

    What revolver....

  • @destinws2 the thing in the butter cabinet at 0:12, lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @destinws2 look behind your head at 0:12 dude :D

  • @destinws2 at 0:14 ;D

  • @FLOURESCENTIDIOT I just saw it hahahahahaha

  • this video made me hungry...

  • You know your a true hispanic, when you see this and you get fond memories of doing this when you were little. xD

  • that was one of the coolest videos ive ever seen. please do more of this kind of stuff, showing real world things

  • @TehNir I'm not interested in "vegetarian vs meat eater". "Factory farming vs ethical farming" is more important. Factory farming is much more common and not that many people know what it's is all about. It's a secretive industry for a reason. Most animals are effectively tortured for their whole lives.

  • @destinws2 Gordon has an amazing talent. I voted for him, and thank you man for showing how things work in third world countries.

  • I tried watching it ... when i saw the goat "screaming" i instantly paused the video and skipped this part of the video ....

I really should consider becoming a vegan.

  • @Checkercorner you really should if you cant handle a little goat screaming. you should see how pigs are when they are slaughtered....

  • Youtube should have a bloody unflag button, wheres the democracy in this

  • If everyone had to do what you just did, probably less people would eat meat. They wouldn't be able to handle that.

  • Your sister can't have a gun in the fridge eigther??

Tumbs up if U saw the gun :P

  • Hell, pretty much everyone I know has dressed a deer before. I laugh at people who get discomfort from stuff like this. They need to get out of their sheltered lives some more.

  • Looks like the butcher is novice or may be "Africana"s' do it this way. The guys actually wasted the goats skin. It has many uses still today in our area in Balochistan.

People here use it as a "Water Cooler", store dates and use it as a "mixer" to produce butter from goats milk last but not least it is used to make a drum

  • Thanks so much, some day I would like to have goats, for milk, for meat, for their Angora (since I knit, crochet, and loom). Goats are the most amazing and useful creatures.

  • I always wondered how they turn a living creature into meat

  • Growing up, I recall my dad butchering and cooking goats. I think he might have saved a lot of time if he'd used this trick with burning the hair off. Despite some folks freaking out, thanks for sharing. As the economy gets worse, we may find ourselves trying to survive with cooking goats, or deer as well. - GrayBeard

  • And here I thought this was gonna be another Dutch laser video

  • people that don't know how the world actually works beyond the supermarket either choose to be ignorant or are simply idiots.

  • this video is wonderful, i love how you censor the actual killing of the animal and help us learn about the insides of a goat.

i was QUITE offended by dovetastic's "Qurbani Sacrifice 1432 2011 Eid Al Adha" video because he had shown the actual slaughter of a goat and it made me feel quite uncomfortable while your video was very humane.

thank you and i love your videos

  • 6:21 it's the ciiiiircle of liiiiiiife

  • It is still appropriate for children to watch as a child on a farm we slaughtered our own chickens, I knew we did it for food and I think children should be educated on where their food comes from so they don't grow up to be one of those uneducated "I eat meat but people who kill animals are bad people" types. Its a simple education on how the world works.
