My opinion, the guy juz got lost, disorientated, panicked then bolted.... In that sort of environment, ur mind can play havoc on u. I think he is dead, unfortunately, coz he had thrown away his only source of light wen he bolted, basically running into an abyss of darkness. Could've fell into one of those holes... But if he did make it out somehow, I'd bet anything, his state of mind, mentally, will never be the same again.

I visited these catacombs,and had my bag searched on the way out...[i visited the main tourist bit, but was astonished by the vibes and the different expressions on the skulls...some looked gentle, some mean, and some were innocent children...most came from Les Innocents graveyard in Paris..which was hideously crowded, so bones were moved to the mines..it is eerie down there, to say the least...would not want to go alone! no way.

suposedly the filmaker and crew are not the ones who find the video, it is say in thefirst part, i think, that the video was found by illegal wonderers. They didn' get lost either, they just backtracked because the opening they hope to get out from was closeed (the law is always closing the paths into the catacoms as it is illegal to wonder down there)

There is a touristic area for the catacoms but it's only 1.7 miles long, well lit and delimited.

Two things are that I don't understand. Since the missing explorer's camera was taken from down there, why did they have to go down again? And how come did they get lost since to find the camera, someone of them must have been down there already? Otherwise, I saw this video when I was 8-9 or something and I got pretty much keen on the idea to go down there one day :P

@shelteringshade Yea there are people who go down there, they are called cataphiles, people who explore the catacombs as a hobby. The camera was picked up by one of them. We dont know what happened to the man in the video tho. He just kept running. Dont know why he chucked his camera and light away. Must have been pretty damn sure something was following him....

@shelteringshade these are tourist sites, so explorers have routes but some routes are unmapped so hence they get "lost" others have these detailed "lost routes" due to years of self-exploration.
