It's unfortunate, in this digital age, that our youth remains an unrecognizable resource for helping society, business, etc. Wouldn't it be great if we could figure out how to harness this creativity and engagement in technology by our children and rather than throw it on some shelf in the classroom or bedroom, apply it towards finding a real world solution. Educators and the business community need to wake up to the fact these kids might know a lot more about some things than they do.
They should have designed the animations of the charts using 3DS MAX and used visual particle effects from Adobe After Effects. That would have been really badass.
This is really unfortunate. The first chart isn't the best graph in the world, but the reality is that from a data visualization perspective it's far better than the fancy redesigns. The 3D bar chart and pie chart are absolutely worthless and are a terrible design. It's really sad that an organization like Microsoft would use something like this to showcase their product. This reinforces their lack of focus on good Data Visualization practices, just like Excel vs. a great tool like Tableau.

Maybe a better choice would be a non-business related presentation or some other feature in Windows to appeal to the ordinary person. As a business user the Sale graph is what caught my attention and as a side, I'm actually a big fan of Windows 7.

Microsoft uhmm I just don't get it . . . Windows 8 will be the next version so why to make commercials for Windows 7? And why does it takes several months after it's release to have a Windows 7 commercial? Just curious . . . . Great video BTW :D
@jasper561996 it's the same reason why car manufacturers come out with special versions of models that are about to be replaced. they want to get as many sales as possible. people who buy 7, and see 8 come out a month or two later will feel pressured to buy 8.

Also earlier versions of Windows don't get much cheaper, maybe $20 less if you can still find it on shelves.
