Everyone is hating on the 2011 Tc because they have the old model and since they can't afford the new one all they can do is post negative comments on youtube. I can speak for myself and for a lot of people when I say I Love My 2011 Tc.
I really cannot understand why all the negative comments on the 2011 Scion TC. It is absolutely stunning. All of the people who are old enough to remember cars of past how could they not enjoy the new TCs. It is the best to me that has Toyota influence. I We drive an 08 Tundra and a 2010 Prius. I wanting to trade in the Tundra soon as I get all of our major house remodeling done. I wont need a full sized truck after that and the TC gets twice the MPG. Its like an airplane inside
@coolcarracer356 how is it much better. the 2010 tc's and earlier have less power worse stereo worse mpg's. less backseat room. smaller wheels worse breaks 4 speed or 5 speed tansmission versus 6 less comfortable seats

I think this guy is on crack myself! I just bought this same car. I'm very impressed! I owned a 06 tC and one of my friends has the 08 (both about the same interior and exterior). I think this is a major improvement for tC! It rides sooo much better and it's much lower. It takes curves like it's nothing! I would like to see them change the texture of the interior and the vents are a strange shape but I think they went into the right direction. I think it's waay more modern and I LOOVE my new tC!
I like the exterior, but I actually sat inside it and I didn't like it as much as my own (2008 tc). With the exception of the steering wheel it seems a tad cheaper, and also the windshield seems much smaller and I couldn't see the hood of the car from inside. It's a nice car, but I just don't know that it's necessarily improvement all around. I do hope it sells well though, I want Tc to stick around

I like the smaller windows, but I think the prevoius models looked much better, and what is with the knobs for the A/C? The steering wheel grip looks nice, but the flattened bottom would very likely feel strange. Try again Scion, and bring back some of the the customizations that were excluded in this current model. I give it a B-.
A+ on the new interior and engine.....not so much for the body style. Doesnt doing for me like the older body model did.... this one looks like a mix of a honda accord front and a kia rear..... na ill pass

@OI8APC2 Complaining about the interior of an $18,000 car? LOL! Even the previous tC had a crappy interior made from plastic with worse quality than Michael Jackson's face. Not to mention the old tC rattled louder than a dozen maracas in a Cuban party.
@dougdangger First of all, it wasn't 18, it was a little over 23 with extra warranty, tax, title, etc. Secondly, the first gen Tc had a great interior. One doesn't have to pay tons of money to have a nice interior. The interior on the '11 is nice, just hard. If the armrest had a little padding, I'd wouldn't be complaining.

Yes, the old tC had a pretty bad interior. There were bad gaps on the plastic panels left and right. The triple pod gauge looks like they were purchased from the 99 Cents store. The rice paper dashboard looked like crap. The center dash did look ok, but the idiotic door covering the radio was completely useless.
@dougdangger Dude, the car costs 20 with an automatic (MSRP-No haggle pricing) Add 1,300 for the extra warranty. Tax, title etc. 23. Before calling someone a moron, take your head out of your ass and consider things like extras and the actual price of the car. $19,995 for auto.
@OI8APC2 Extended warranties from dealerships are a joke. You also need to read the fine line on what it says. A buddy of mine did what you did, buy extended warranty on his car. 48,000 miles later the auto tranny was shot. He thought he would be taken cared off but when the warranty company mailed him a highlighted notice on the contract, it didn't cover "normal wear and tear". So he gave over $1,000 to some company only to be told "No we won't."
@dougdangger I read the fine print. There was nothing that stated normal wear and tear. It specifically states bumper to bumper. Anything goes wrong, it gets fixed. He must have an "American" made car.
I don't get why people hate on this car so much. IMO the front looks sicker than the old versions. Don't like the back but it's growing on me. For $230-250 a month this car is a good car. I test drove it and it's pretty awesome! Loved the Alpine sound system :P

There is no Civic that can compare to this since for the same price, you're getting a sad econobox with 140hp engine, steel wheels with covers, no sunroof and a sad POS radio.
The SI is better, guess what, it also costs about $5,000 MORE. If you insist on comparing a car that's $5,000 more expensive just to make the tC look bad, then I'll choose a car that's $5,000 more expensive than the SI, the WRX, to make the SI look bad.

I think this audience is still meant for current TC owners, because it's still the same kind of people you want to attract. young hipsters who want to be different and cool. They sucked the cool right out of it and made it too sedate and normal looking. If you think Hondas look good then you arent supposed to be in the target audience, no offense to Honda drivers, but that conformity is what Scion was supposed to stand against.
@MrThunderMonky Yeah, I see where your coming from if your basing the buy on looks alone, but I genuinely enjoy they way this car feels when I test drove it. It definitely smoother than last years TC even is by a small margin but it is noticeable. I'm in it for the performance, not the looks

I believe i'll wait until it's replaced by something more aesthetically pleasing and has more after market options available for it. For i too love speed and i like the add ons scion offers for the old model. As of yet the dealer tells me they have nothing to build the performance up with yet, no shocks, no rim choices, no supercharger and no NOS systems available.

Of course the old tC is going to have more aftermarket support, it's over 6 years old.
The new one has a better engine transmission to begin with and far better stock handling. This one has dual vvti engine that is not only more powerful, but better mpg. This will respond better to tuning.
The old tC had a good run, it's time to retire for the new kid
@dougdangger I guess your right, I like the engine transmission set up. it far exceeds the Corrola S model and the other Scion models but it's getting old. I guess i'm just disappointed that the new "good" stuff has to come in such an ugly package. 5 different plastic textures making up the dash and hideous seats designed from 1986.. and a look not far removed from a Civic/'01 mustang(someone at ford should be shot for that one) for me, i'll just have keep on walking past the Toyota dealer.
@Sr20d3t I think the '11 looks A LOT better than the previous years. More sporty, more edgy. Not so rounded. Doesn't look like a VW bug anymore. And mark my words, you'll see more dudes than chicks driving the '11, unlike the previous years'.
Finally Toyota got it right. The first gen tC was a good car for women. Antiquated 5spd tranny and more interior rattles than a dozen maracas. It had horrible tires and poor handling with more body rolls than Michael Moore.
this TC scion 2011 looks horrible it takes away the scion look.. not only that their is not wing which a tc scion and all scions should come with a one but an updated look. i believe that cars all seem to look the same, and for this 2011 TC scion you made it look like a fucking Cadillac

I work for Toyota and trust me I like Scion but was never really excited over a TC. Dont get me wrong they are amazing cars but the body style never really gave me a' wow' factor on the old models. I went to a Scion Launch yesterday and WOW. This body style is bad ass. I can tell as a scion professional This guy in this video is prolly a scion/toyota hater by the vocabulary and excitement he uses. If you dont believe me when they release this vehicle go look at one in person lol.Youll be amazed!
im currently in the process of trading in my 2009 Silverado on one. I'm stuck between this new model or going ahead and getting the 2010 model. I do like that they added the xtra hp, torque and especially made it a 6 speed. Does anyone know the release date we can get them from the dealer at. I saw September but around what day.
May end up with the gen 1 if they do a drastic price drop when these come out though.

@pete6404 The ones that are mad are the sore 1st gen tC owners like yourself. Like I said, this car has a better engine than the old tC. More power, cleaner emission and better mpg. It also has dual VVTi so it should respond better to tuning than the old engine in your car.
It has better stock brakes and suspension. The 6speed transmission is also far better than the old one. This also has a better more powerful stereo system. Let's not forget traction and stability control STANDARD.

The RS5 has better handling than other tCs that don't have TRD suspension. The new tC has BETTER handling than the old tC with non TRD suspension. Now put TRD performance suspension on the new tC, I'm willing to bet that it will eat your RS5 for breakfast.
The all black RS5 with ricer tail lights is what's ugly.

honestly scion was know for making ugly cars! look at the xB and xA... ugly as fuck when they first came out and they knew that, but people still bought em'! Its what you add to it that makes it stand out. I own a tC and i added a bunch of aftermarket aero kits 18" rims, exhaust, HID's spoiler and it looks way better than a base model. Guaranteed this new look will be a headturner as the previous models have done.
The rear window doesn't fit and makes the care look akward. The front is nice. The weels are the same. Looks a bit boxy . The rear end is ok. the interior is weak, It looks cheaper than the older one. Steering wheel is nice. The roofline is not all that great. Before, the TC looked completey different. but now when I look at it, it reminds me of the xb
i think they made this car ugly! although i like the upgrade in hp and the 6 speed manual. the inside looks ok but the outside looks like a retarded nissan gt-r

Is Rado's tC stock? It seems like he fully gutted the car. So even IF the newer tC is heavier, I don't see how it could be an issue. The better engine, transmission, suspension and brakes alone are well worth it.
If weight is my biggest concern on a FWD car, the tC (first or second generation) would be my LAST choice.
@dougdangger 1st gen tC Curb Weight of 2970lbs. 2011 tC Curb Weight 3060. Since when is 2970 more than 3060? The extra 90lbs negates the power increase to make it faster than the 1st gen, that's all anyone has ever been trying to tell you. You act like it's going to "super outperform" the first gen when it's not. They are the same in terms of speed and acceleration. Don't know what it will be like in the corners yet, no Skidpad data yet on it.

1st gen Scion tCs were entered in a Formula 1 racing event and destroyed every single race car.
Every single racing veteran and their racing cars were humiliated by 161hp Scion tCs that crashed the last Nascar racing event. They zoomed by those V8 beasts at 450mph around the oval.
Lancer EVOs and Subie STIs got their asses handed to them when kaost and rthythm brought their legendary racing beasts and dominated the WRX.
The tc never had a 4 speed auto option. This guy needs to do a little research.

I like the smaller windows, but I think the prevoius models looked much better, and what is with the knobs for the A/C? The steering wheel grip looks nice, but the flattened bottom would very likely feel strange. Try again Scion, and bring back some of the the customizations that were excluded in this current model. I give it a B-.

I bought this car and it looks much nicer than a Civic SI, drives much nicer, and you actually get power below 7k rpm.
Civic SI is feeling like my old 95 integra, you can hear the road as if there was no floor and it looks SO bad.

@dougdangger First of all, it wasn't 18, it was a little over 23 with extra warranty, tax, title, etc. Secondly, the first gen Tc had a great interior. One doesn't have to pay tons of money to have a nice interior. The interior on the '11 is nice, just hard. If the armrest had a little padding, I'd wouldn't be complaining.

Yes, the old tC had a pretty bad interior. There were bad gaps on the plastic panels left and right. The triple pod gauge looks like they were purchased from the 99 Cents store. The rice paper dashboard looked like crap. The center dash did look ok, but the idiotic door covering the radio was completely useless.
I'd rather take the simplisity of the new one.

@OI8APC2 Extended warranties from dealerships are a joke. You also need to read the fine line on what it says. A buddy of mine did what you did, buy extended warranty on his car. 48,000 miles later the auto tranny was shot. He thought he would be taken cared off but when the warranty company mailed him a highlighted notice on the contract, it didn't cover "normal wear and tear". So he gave over $1,000 to some company only to be told "No we won't."

I don't get why people hate on this car so much. IMO the front looks sicker than the old versions. Don't like the back but it's growing on me. For $230-250 a month this car is a good car. I test drove it and it's pretty awesome! Loved the Alpine sound system :P

There is no Civic that can compare to this since for the same price, you're getting a sad econobox with 140hp engine, steel wheels with covers, no sunroof and a sad POS radio.
The SI is better, guess what, it also costs about $5,000 MORE. If you insist on comparing a car that's $5,000 more expensive just to make the tC look bad, then I'll choose a car that's $5,000 more expensive than the SI, the WRX, to make the SI look bad.
Dollar per dollar the tC can't be touched.

For i too love speed and i like the add ons scion offers for the old model. As of yet the dealer tells me they have nothing to build the performance up with yet, no shocks, no rim choices, no supercharger and no NOS systems available.

@MrThunderMonky The old one is boring looking. It has a 20 year old Camry engine and a transmission ripped out from a delivery truck.
Of course the old tC is going to have more aftermarket support, it's over 6 years old.
The new one has a better engine transmission to begin with and far better stock handling. This one has dual vvti engine that is not only more powerful, but better mpg. This will respond better to tuning.
The old tC had a good run, it's time to retire for the new kid

@dougdangger I guess your right, I like the engine transmission set up. it far exceeds the Corrola S model and the other Scion models but it's getting old. I guess i'm just disappointed that the new "good" stuff has to come in such an ugly package. 5 different plastic textures making up the dash and hideous seats designed from 1986.. and a look not far removed from a Civic/'01 mustang(someone at ford should be shot for that one) for me, i'll just have keep on walking past the Toyota dealer.

I work for Toyota and trust me I like Scion but was never really excited over a TC. Dont get me wrong they are amazing cars but the body style never really gave me a' wow' factor on the old models. I went to a Scion Launch yesterday and WOW. This body style is bad ass. I can tell as a scion professional This guy in this video is prolly a scion/toyota hater by the vocabulary and excitement he uses. im currently in the process of trading in my 2009 Silverado on one. I'm stuck between this new model or going ahead and getting the 2010 model. I do like that they added the xtra hp, torque and especially made it a 6 speed. Does anyone know the release date we can get them from the dealer at. I saw September but around what day.
May end up with the gen 1 if they do a drastic price drop when these come out though.

@pete6404 The ones that are mad are the sore 1st gen tC owners like yourself. Like I said, this car has a better engine than the old tC. More power, cleaner emission and better mpg. It also has dual VVTi so it should respond better to tuning than the old engine in your car.
It has better stock brakes and suspension. The 6speed transmission is also far better than the old one. This also has a better more powerful stereo system. Let's not forget traction and stability control STANDARD.

The RS5 has better handling than other tCs that don't have TRD suspension. The new tC has BETTER handling than the old tC with non TRD suspension. Now put TRD performance suspension on the new tC, I'm willing to bet that it will eat your RS5 for breakfast.
The all black RS5 with ricer tail lights is what's ugly.

honestly scion was know for making ugly cars! look at the xB and xA... ugly as fuck when they first came out and they knew that, but people still bought em'! Its what you add to it that makes it stand out. I own a tC and i added a bunch of aftermarket aero kits 18" rims, exhaust, HID's spoiler and it looks way better than a base model. Guaranteed this new look will be a headturner as the previous models have done.

The rear window doesn't fit and makes the care look akward. The front is nice. The weels are the same. Looks a bit boxy . The rear end is ok. the interior is weak, It looks cheaper than the older one. Steering wheel is nice. The roofline is not all that great. @rhythmnsmoke I know it handles better because every fucking review says it does. There is hardly any body roll (unlike the 1st gen that looked like the leaning tower in Italy). It takes turns much sharper and brakes better with less fade than the old one, thanks to BIGGER brakes.
Boo fucking hoo, I can live with it being 0.2 seconds slower knowing that I have a better geared transmission, better handling, better brakes, traction and stability control and specially a non feminine car.

@dougdangger I put pTuning in there because they are racing enthusiasts the only person that is pro is their driver...and FYI they have no drastic mods done to their car like Chris Rado or Ken Gushi. And have you looked at the specs for the new tC 0-60 hasn't changed, the tranny hasnt changed, hell the suspension is stronger because it weighes more, so to be honest its like racing two 1st gen tC and asking who would win

@dougdangger I actually like the 2011 tC dude. I hated at first, but I changed my mind when I saw it in black, and I saw it rolling around on a video. But do I think it will be faster than the 1st gen tC with the little extra hp and tq it gets...No. Because it weighs more than the 1st gen.

@rhythmnsmoke You're wrong, the older one is HEAVIER.
Is Rado's tC stock? It seems like he fully gutted the car. So even IF the newer tC is heavier, I don't see how it could be an issue. The better engine, transmission, suspension and brakes alone are well worth it.
If weight is my biggest concern on a FWD car, the tC (first or second generation) would be my LAST choice.

@dougdangger 1st gen tC Curb Weight of 2970lbs. 2011 tC Curb Weight 3060. Since when is 2970 more than 3060? The extra 90lbs negates the power increase to make it faster than the 1st gen, that's all anyone has ever been trying to tell you. You act like it's going to "super outperform" the first gen when it's not. They are the same in terms of speed and acceleration. Don't know what it will be like in the corners yet, no Skidpad data yet on it.
