I sold my (997) 911 4S for an R8 V8 X tronic.. One of the bets move I have ever made.. looks mazing, rides way better, more comfortable yet very sporty at the press of a button.. Love it! My all time favorite car Ever! I don't care that a GTR is faster,, this is a gentlemen's car that is easy to live with.

This car is AWD. No more than 30% of the power goes to the front wheels. 4WD transmissions can't control where the power goes. AWD does.

i think that 4wd is more off road oriented and AWD is, well, an AWD car like this

4WD means that all four wheels are being turned by the drivetrain at the exact same ratio and power distribution... used only by trucks for off-roading, or unsophisticated vehicles.

AWD means that the drivetrain has an electronic diff between the front and rear wheels, so it can shuffle around the power between the front and rear wheels for optimum traction... meaning the rear wheels get 80% power while front only 20%, or if braking for a corner and pulling out through apex, 50-50, etc.

@Egil8D All wheel drive is a permanent system, with different variations, such as quattroGmbH's system in all Audi's. Where as 4WD is an auxiliary system, which is not meant for constant use, but only on the occasions in which it is needed.

@Egil8D 4WD (or 4x4) refers to a vehicle that has 4 wheels and torque is distributed to all of them, but it is often referred to vehicles who can switch back and forth between 2WD and 4WD; AWD refers to vehicles with permanent 4x4, but not exclusively, because as someone already mentioned bellow some trucks have six wheels with power distributed to all of them (therefore being 6X6).

Your insurance will just charge you insanely to insure the car.

One wheel cost more than 500 dollars to replace.

The exterior, if you need to replace one of part of the body, it'll cost you a hefty price.
