@TR5T I'm a vet myself, a former marine with 3/5 who did 2 tours in Iraq. My father was also a Camp Pendleton marine and a Vietnam vet. One reason why we lost the war in Vietnam was the fact that some army personnel tend to haul ass and run away during combat engagement. They panic and when they panic they leave their equipments, heavy machine guns, and ammos behind. The marines then had to rescue their asses and pick up after them. You were lucky to be a rear echelon.
My friend was there! Shot 5 times(over a 2 year period) and still made it home. Good old Canadian boy fighting someone else battle. His character was portrayed by Greg Kinear in the movie "we were soldiers ". Thanks Hal Moore!

We became the designated returnees fort. I do know what happened there I have many many many eye witness accounts.
We did win , unite? the N/S we were forced to retreat by the politicians.
Ask anyone who was imprisoned in Nam after the war, ask your local Viet Namese what happened to their family after we left.

@TR5T I'm a vet myself, a former marine with 3/5 who did 2 tours in Iraq. My father was also a Camp Pendleton marine and a Vietnam vet. One reason why we lost the war in Vietnam was the fact that some army personnel tend to haul ass and run away during combat engagement. They panic and when they panic they leave their equipments, heavy machine guns, and ammos behind. The marines then had to rescue their asses and pick up after them. You were lucky to be a rear echelon.

My friend was there! Shot 5 times(over a 2 year period) and still made it home. Good old Canadian boy fighting someone else battle. His character was portrayed by Greg Kinear in the movie "we were soldiers ". Thanks Hal Moore!
