lmao it is worth it if you want to learn how to get more out of a shitty computer but it takes a while to master. I honestly havent had the time to continue with this project in recent days and I actually own a macbook pro now so I don't even need it but you totally save hundreds using this method if your willing to put in the time.

Don't be an apple fanboy, they are overpriced, and will always be..... Their security is shit(quickest computer to break into), and they never offer the top of the line models in parts.

I'm doing this in VMWare because when I boot to an OSx86 DVD it just reboots immediately. I'm on a quad core AMD. On VMWare it installs OK but when it boots into OSX it usually just freezes on the Logo screen (before the progress circle appears). Occasionally it'll make it in further but then it'll complain the keyboard isn't plugged in, which is weird because it works earlier in the boot process.

Any ideas?

go to drivers>>system>>ps/keyboard/m­ouse/>>apple ps/keyboard/mouse

and click done and click install..and boot into mac osx ,now it will work

when i put my burned dvd with the ISO on it and select the USB CD drive in the boot menu.. it just starts windows xp! any help?

well you have to burn it at the slowest speed possible, that MAY be your problem but other tan that im not too sure... if the burn speed isnt the problem, gimme another shout and ill see if i can help you further

go in the the boot menu during start up and change what drive your computer boots from

One comment. You said "building a Hackintosh is technically illegal." This statement is premature at best, and incorrect at worst. The legality is dependent upon what the courts find concerning the EULA and the manner of installation. Since the courts have not ruled (as of yet pertaining to personal Hackintosh installation from a retail DVD), it is not yet "illegal."

A hacked distribution *is* illegal for certain.

It Definately Does Matter lol and to get it going on an AMD MIGHT take you few Extra Hours but yes it will work and ive seen some realllly nice AMD hackintoshs! you see i run a small business where this is all i do... and ive done it to SEVERAL AMD computers
