the fact that the screens don't blend directly next to each other, is the only thing keeping me from going with multiple monitors. the black bars just piss me off too much.
Okay, so my HD 5770 has 2 DVI, an HDMI, and a Displayport. If I want to do eyefinity, I need to use the displayport. I keep hearing different things. Do you need a true displayport monitor, or would buying an active (w/ power supply) converter to go from displayport > dvi work as well?
You don't need Eyefinity nor TripleHead2go to do three monitors. With an extra compatable graphics card (even intingrated on your motherboard) you can plug a third monitor into that. Open your game in (window mode), then drag it to the size of your screens. Or use softTH. It's all worked for years. Eyefinity doesn't even support portrait +landscape. My setup does.
@anadali Your eyes automatically filter it out after awhile.
There are some major differences between a large single monitor and a 3 monitor setup. For one, the resolution is much higher. Two, You get a sense of peripheral vision out of angled monitors that is much more immersive. Three, the super wide screen effect lends itself better to FPS envronments.
LG just released SL8000 Borderless HDTV so its only a matter of time before we see borderless LCD monitors. Eyefinity might be just the beginning of something much bigger coming. Imagine a circular room fully decked out with borderless monitors. Would take movies and games to a new level.
yeeeahh i'm buying two 5850 babies, next step is to buy two 22" 1050p screens to match the one i have, (it's incredible how low priced screens are nowadays)

The technology is nice, but the video looks like it was pre-recorded game footage. Why? Why pretend the hands on the keyboard were actually affecting anything? There's not even a mouse.
You're right, I didn't see the mouse. However, any flight sim that uses keyboard input for flight, is not a flight sim (no more than pacman is an action) :) Great graphics, no doubt.
the name of the song from the beginning thanks!

no envy, but i really dont see the point of 3 monitors. the bars between the screens look annoying
gabrocki 9 months ago
@gabrocki the bars would annoy me most on an FPS. The simulator wouldn't bother me too much because plains have bars.

@FrPSh I've heard mixed things about using adapters, so when I went eyefinity I got native displayport monitors. So far it's been 100% rock solid.

Yea there are actually a mouse visible behind the keyboard. And you can play HAWX perfectly well without using the mouse.

Yea i agree with you on that :). It is really more of an arcade game than a sim.
