Damn too long!

I had a bad childhood and was very unhappy. So I want to be happy as an adult. Is that a bad thing? Does that mean I'm deluded - no but it means that I'm willing to work through problems and use those tools to confront any problems and sadness head on in the future without turning to substances and falling apart.

Hi Michelle. I really liked this video and there was some very interesting points.

I hold my hands up and admit I'm guilty of complaining about the commercialisation of witchcraft and mainly Wicca in the past 15 years. I think this is what is causing all this 'fluffy' business. But u are right. We shud not judge people by a glance or our own misguided judgements.

I am so excited to see that you got in on this discussion. I haven't but I've watched a few of the videos and it's a really interesting subject. I agree with what you said. I don't think it's right to make assumptions--especially in the form of labels or generalizations--about other people's spiritual practices. A person's "level" of spirituality or spiritual commitment cannot be adequately evaluated by a third party, in my view. It's totally subjective.

I definitely went through that phase, and still go through that phase with spiritual books, or tarot cards o.o. Also if someone thinks bad about you just ignore them because you are an amazing person and very insightful on a lot of things.

Well said. I don't think anything is innately 'good' or bad'. When I think of the dark side, I think of the light and dark halves of the year. The dark half of the year is your yin side, its a time of rest and self-reflection. And I agree, part of embracing your dark side is understanding and evolving your emotions if that is what you choose to do. There is definitely a place for balance, but not the way most people are expressing it.

To me, to strive to be positive is not to be naive or gullible or to ignore dark things or bad happenings in the world but to take those kinds of situations and transform them into something more manageable (like you said) and constructive instead of continuing to let those forces be destructive and detrimental. I don't know if that made any sense, but I'm with ya. lol :)

This term is too interchangeable. To me a 'fluffy bunny' is what I would identify with as a fundamental Christian type, but within the pagan community. In my past experiences, they are the ones (mostly Wiccans) who usually begin the argument saying that anyone who doesn't follow the Threefold Law and doesn't ONLY practice 'white magic' is evil and not a REAL witch. I think the newer pagans got lumped into the 'fluffy bunny' category because of the word 'fluff'...the 'fun stuff' like you said. :D

You explain it perfectly...a 'fluffy bunny' is a Wiccan/Pagan/Witch that refuses to acknowledge the darker side of magic, which has existed since the dawn of time, period. I couldn't agree more.
