  • hm, i read - date me:D

  • So.. Tasty.... <:'D

  • Ok I will have to try this, but I have an important question. A guy, who's name escapes me now, but use to cook Asian food on PBS, says to cook it in a regular pot (Because that is what most people have in US.) on medium-high for 20 min, then 20 on medium-low and then let sit for 20 min. But you first soaked the rice for 1hr and then cooked on low (after boiling) for 12 min and then turn off the stove and let steam for 15 min. Can you do it like that do to the earthen pot or what?

  • @Jerrid3

I have been cooking rice like this for a while now and it never looks any thing like yours does and that is the way I want it, light and fluffy and it looks like it sticks... is it due to the pot or the way you cook it or both? I have a cheap pot with a cheap lid... I do not have an earthen pot nor will I any time soon nor a dedicated rice cooker... does a crock pot count?

  • @Jerrid3

it actually depends on the type of rice you are buy...because you can cook them on any pot...

the best rice to buy are Jasmin rice...a little expensive buti ts better than spending hundreds on pots that you dont even need :)

    hope this helps

  • @GirlsLegit

I finally got my rice right... took me some time to get it, but I got it. I found another video and they do almost the same thing as this for the rice it self. I no longer even come close to burning my rice and it is nice and fluffy from a regular small pot. Plus it seems letting the rice soak for at least 30 minutes makes the rice look "whiter" than normal. Is that just my imagination? Also does wasabi taste like American horseradish?

  • @Jerrid3

leaving it in the water for that long is not good. you are taking out the nutrients inside of it. thats why its white...we only rinse them to clean the grain. i recommand you not to soak them.

  • @GirlsLegit

This is what this video does as well though...

  • @Jerrid3 wasabi has a similar "strength" to American horseradish, but it does have a different taste. I prefer wasabi! :D

  • @mrsp283 wasabi paste is green and western horseradish paste is white :)

  • When I first started watching this video, it seemed like the dog was introducing the show. It's mouth was moving in sink with the narrator's. lol

  • there is a funny japanese movie about food

its called tampopo...i recommend it to you all (yes it has english subtitles)

  • When she was layering the rice, for whatever reason, I started craving a parfait xD

  • It's so cute. xD

    I'll try this later =D

  • so little fish inside! TT

  • "It might be difficult to find some of the ingredients...". Try "...impossible..."!

  • @6SpAr6TAN69 I'm the same way. Try to substitute them with things you can find in your area that's similar. It's surprising what you can come up with.

  • @6SpAr6TAN69

All of the ingredients should be at your local Asian market.

  • @6SpAr6TAN69 Impossibru!

  • I got a problem.... I can't find White Sesame Seeas anywhere! Nah just kidding. I wanna try one of the recipes some day in the near future! Japanese cooking surely is admirable AND inspirable :)

  • Would anyone know where to get shiso leaves? East Coast USA.

  • @alexi626 If you are on the east coast and near a major city, you should have access to some asian markets...Google in your area for 'International Market' or 'Asian Grocery'.

  • @pinworms70 Thank you also! :)

  • @alexi626 justhungry. com / dozen-japanese-herbs-and-vegetables-grow

reap and sow, seems like the best idea to me. other than that, there are some shippers (just google for it), but shiso is usually extremly pricy.

asian markets, etc are usually worth a try, just ask them where they get theirs.^^

  • @AriusDural Thank you very much!

  • Looks healthy and delicious. Absolutely amazing :)

  • Everyday I watch a recipe from Coocking with dog, and sometimes I make one too. Coocing with Dog : You are hihgly addictive and I love and adore your show!!!! Thank you so much for being here......

  • what's the difference with cooking rice using an electric cooker or pot than with an claypot?

  • @davenoy

    perhaps its more original? lol

well its like either u smash spices in a stone bowl or u blend spices with a blender

the only difference i know its the trdisional method is said to be better owing to the aroma & taste of spice is stronger than using the blender

  • @davenoy Its just to show you that you can do it without an electric rice cooker. Turns out the same if you rinse it well and let it sit like that in your electric cooker.

  • really like your recipes................but just hate that poor dog............he is harmless still is annoying!

  • one of my favorite food

  • Comment removed

or why don't you just make your own cooking videos if you still have something to say :/ be nice to her lol

  • This video gives off a gloomy feeling, probably because it looks like she's in pain D:

    maybe its just me.

  • hahahahahahaahahhaahahahahahhahaahahah

    --

You must note a freshness of seafoods.

In Japan, Japanese can get fresh seafoods, and so Japanese are possible to eat them raw.

It is just Japanese cuisine of the seagirt island nation.

  • oh, this food dish looks so yummy.

  • Can anyone please tell me exactly what kind of rice this is? Thanks.

  • @burrdturgler Most likely Short-grained Japonica rice. However, in lack of finding it, I would say any rice would do (as we're not making sticky rice/sushi rice/rice for onigiri). Personal opinion :3

  • thank you its such great video. Im hoping i can find the ingredient. Thank you!

  • Its like another version of chirashizushi but not quite. Looks amazing!

  • the most prevalent is those avocados! xD

  • MY Mother is japanese and is from okinawa, theese videos are amazing and truly inspireablee so that means more pepole cann eat japanese food easy ! p.s curry and yakisoba are my fave

  • Bananas!

  • cool, I never knew that you could layer a sashimi bowel :), now I know.

    Thanks for this video.

  • bananas! :D

  • I've got a question for the cooker : Would you be my mother ?

  • @Mademoiselvina NO! she cant be your mother, cos I want her to be mine!! Or mebbe we could be siblings :p

  • @SummerII LoL ! Why not but it's gonna be very very very complicated ! The best way is to do an alternating custody, once you and once me !!!!!!! :)

  • @Mademoiselvina Hahahas! She probably have to hop on a plane from one end to the other ;p

  • @SummerII I've always wondered if she has kids or a family. They're probably real proud.

    [Holding Sign] Adopt me!

  • @AnthonyTheMr Join the queue Anthony! Me and madem are firsts! If she have kids, they are sure well fed (:

  • looks delicious but look at 2:17 they showed the food cooked even though it wasnt yet hahaha

  • @elakihiro It's just to capture the picture of the food in the exact middle so that it shows as the preview picture when you click on the video.

  • i dont understand much of wat he's sayin

  • I think after watching your videos I will learn as many Japanese recipes as I can and eat nothing but Japanese cuisine. I really can't see myself ever getting bored of it.

  • Everything looks so good, but is there anything simple to make??

  • so this is the japanese version of korean's hwaebbap.

  • looks soo yummmy

  • mmmm! Yum! Yum! YUMMY!!!

  • I love Kaisendon so much that i am eating some right now as I type this comment

  • @keiki646 lucky....-_-

  • Like the intro in all the videos say, he's the host of the show and is telling you in english how to cook the recipes. It's a cutesy gimmick to make the show more interesting, especially attracts dog/animal lovers. It's a good show too :)

  • @Xittin The dog is named Francis and he's the host of the show.

  • Fantastica!!que tecnica!!

  • Would it be ok to replace the shiso leaves with basil? I'm not quite sure what would be a good substitute for myoga ginger though, any ideas?

  • Shallot Onion could be used.

  • shiso leaves = basil + mint

The smell is near ginger though myoga ginger looks like shallot onion

  • @BetrayalxX

I don't really think myoga tastes like anything else...and it's a really strong taste. I'm really surprised they called it myoga "ginger" here though... I don't think it's anything like ginger at all...

  • Ah, well, I'll try to buy the ingredients online.. not the best way, but the only option I have.

  • This recipe looks very delicate and aromatic. I'd love to try it.

  • How do you eat this? First the toppings and then the rice? Or everything at the same time. I don't understand how you'd do that with chopsticks (but I use a fork, so that's okay =P)

It looks delicious, I'm definitly am going to try making it =]

  • I miss kaisendon!I would add Uni and Ikura too!

  • oishi
