  • Chen is amazing under pressure - the definition of unflappable. Very impressed!!!

  • Oooh, I'm getting spice attack.

  • Go Chen!!

  • how come sometimes they show the scores and sometimes they don't??

  • where are the scores??? T_T

  • did they dub over the slurping?

  • @hb013 THEY SO DID

    i noticed as well!

  • "This is great..... really." lol i love that guy haha

  • Chen Kenichi is the best

  • chen is so cute! he's so expressive! cracks me up!! haha

  • HAHAHAHAH i love the male commentator. "you made me very happy :)"

  • Fuck foie gras, lobster, or caviar or whatever bullshit. Noodles is where it's at.

  • Chen's so funny that he even made Zhou laugh.

  • To eat any of Chen's four noodle dishes can be a dream for a week for me!

  • That guy in a suit seems like he can't take spicy stuff, maybe they invited the wrong guy.

  • I think it would have been nice if they had given Chen five minutes more, so that he didn't start cooking from a dead stop. He might have finished that last dish.

  • the first judge is hella gay, man!

  • Chen's full of class.. always such a deep bow to the challenger at the end.

  • MMMM.... I LOVE NOODLES!!!!!

  • I HATE when they skip the scores.

  • ooo, I'm getting a spice attack!

I stopped at 5:00 and went and got some noodles for myself.

  • Yeah, not sure what was with that. He was a bit spacy there.

  • wouldn't it be a hoot if they dubbed the lousy american "version" into Japanese? HA!

  • @feslenraster

I wouldn't care. And as much as you would hate to admit it, Iron chef is nothing more than two people in a cook off. That's how it always been, and will continue to be like that. I don't care if they speak Romanian, I just love watching the food.

  • @Michael326 yeah, but you have to admit, one show is just plain funnier and better to watch than the other. the american version is just...bland.

  • @feslenraster

    It's a cook off.

  • chef Tomitoku look so pro & serious yet very funny..

    =)

  • the american version isn't great, but I think it gets a bad rap. The advantage of the american version is that they have alton brown who is an encyclopedia of food knowledge, and also more up to date techniques and flavors

  • 4:45 LOL XD

    strang guy

  • The judges don't mark on the act of cooking itself; they only mark on creativity, presentation and taste. I doubt the chefs cook without washing their hands and the like, either - we just don't see it. I certainly wouldn't want someone sticking a latex glove into my soup or noodles. (Besides, taste-testing is essential for them, given that they sometimes have to improvise and use combinations that haven't been used before.)

  • Not at all. Every utensil and surface is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to being set out, and no chef, especially not a professional, begins their work without making sure they are as well.

  • U dont actually cook right?

  • I <3 NOODLES!!!!!

  • Best dubbed show ever!

  • I think when the guy says "You've made me very happy", I can't help but agree with you

  • at 0:57 he took a bit and drop the other half back in.

  • One of the best battles, and my hands down favorite ingredient. I think it was a good idea to have that 10 min break, I have some expiriance in the catagory of letting noodles sit too long.

  • LOL The writer "Ooh! I'm getting a spice attack!" XD

  • Have you noticed the guy who dubs him always sounds like he's outta breath?

  • I wished the score was shown but thanks for sharing these amazing video! I'm learning a lot :)

  • Chen's Dan-dan noodles look amazing.

  • they nvr show the score when its a landslide win, i think.

  • When there are three judges (early episodes), the scores weren't shown. That wasn't added until later.

  • Chen san was so polite! he even went to shake the opponent's master's hand even when he was a nuisance during the cook-off.

    I FUCKING LOVE IRON CHEF!

  • "Lettin it loose! Lettin it all hang out!"

  • Wait! There are 5 bowls! And only Kaga and 3 judges are tasting. What's the 5th bowl for?

  • Photo-shoot.

  • Oh, thank you.

  • I think it's for the opponent... you hafta taste the opponents meal so you can decide for yourself if you really won or not... :)

  • Chen Kenichi really deserved to win this one. He blew the challenger away!

  • I love how the voice-over actors felt it necessary to voice-act the slurping of noodles.

Chen seems to have really learned from his experiences on the show - I doubt he would have ever considered making a yogurt sauce if he hadn't been chosen for the yogurt battle in an earlier season.

  • Chen ate noodles right out of the wok, lol.

Bite a piece, then spat the dangling rest right out.

  • Wut? Chen Kenichi can make a noodle dish in 5 minutes?

Then why bother with his hand-made ones?

  • Talk about rushing it....Man he was flying right at the end! Chen's awesome! He's my fav Iron Chef

  • Chen Kenichi for the win!

  • kishiulul ka talaga

    kupal ka

    alis ka dyan

  • SPICE ATTACK?! HAW HAW

  • LMAO! OOh I'm Getting A Spice Attack =O

  • "woo spice attack"

    LOL

  • noodles are ordinary invented by the chinese people. so they know what to put.

  • Spaghetti is also chinese...

  • Pasta is Chinese.

    Pasta = noodles, macaroni, etc.

  • there is a myth that pasta was introduced from china to italy by marco polo.. this has been completely disproved by many historians.. they both developed independently

  • Yup, there's both sides of the argument.

But before it was brought up, I remember reading it in Chinese texts.

There's decriptions of the noddles that are exactly the same as today.

  • in byzantine era, silk and many other chinese culture was introduced to europe through a path now called silk road which was connecting china and rome.

    pasta too.

  • you gotta love chen's attitude even in the face of adversity. he's still smiling! most chefs would be barking at their assistants.

  • That was an excellent episode. Noodles are easy to cook but difficult to cook well especially when they were dealing with so many dishes.

  • Hmmmm...Noodles! Noodles..I want noodles...Ramen too..Pho...Vermicilian...Pad Thai...etc.

  • lol look at Chen during the tasting. He's so tired he looked as if he's gonna fall asleep right after the filming.

  • great show, thanks again for uploading

  • The voiceover guys are the BEST! I love the voice of the gawky looking taster. "These noddles are so thin. The previous noodles were FAT. And these are.... THIN!"

  • I wonder if they are doing a true translation or not. Sometimes they add silly puns that will only work using the english language.

  • Well that's the normal way of translating things... Puns and such are usually changed to ones that exist in the target language.

  • Yes, this process is called localization.

  • i tried to make noodles after viewing this, sadly...it was a fruitless endeavour (It looked simple, lol) :(

  • they are not called good chefs for nothing.. =P

  • Loved it thank you!

  • Imagine there was an English Chef (yeah right) Whatever the theme ingredient he'll just stuff it in a pie!

  • HOT DOG!

  • lol or a sandwich

  • He's just too good and chinese style of cooking is probably the nicest one around.

  • This was a great battle. I was concerned about Chen getting that last dish completed on time.

  • Wow...the real difficulty is the 10 min break in between for me...in 10 mins + tasting time, the soups dat are boiling goes cold...the rythmn of cooking gets broken & adrenaline stops...but he rises to the occassion anyway....wat a great Chef !! Kudos!!

  • The show in many ways did some how shadow that Chen is their toughest iron chef out of the 4
