  • Best solution so far for Wind power Tech's:

    watch?v=JDJhhGJwSuA

  • Priceless21: WTF? you obviously haven't been paying attention. Solar power being developed right now can reach over 40% conversion efficiency (more than most fossil fuel plants). And the images or birds shown probably come from the outdated Altamont Pass Windfarm in California, wher the blades are narrow and move very fast, compared to modern wide blades that move much slower. Plus it is set right in a migratory path, which is avoided these days.

  • @ginckgo still doesn't address the fact that wind power needs a crap load of fans to generate sufficient power for a major city. The costs are astronomical and it is unsuitable for large populations.

  • @ginckgo Wind is unreliable. It isn't there when you really need it, like on a really hot day. It is estimated that we will need 52,500 wind turbines to generate sufficient electricity (base load electricity). Solar and wind are the two most expensive forms of generation. The question is: is carbon dioxide a pollutant? It is a trace gas found in such small quantities that it is measured in ppm. It is essential for generating the warmth necessary for life and for plant life to exist at all.

  • Chernobyl was old old technology and in a country where human life was expendable. There are nuclear power plants all around the world and also powering ships and subs . Its the only way to go if we are serious about generating power that is there 24/7 and plenty of it.

  • Wind and Solar are not really the problem. The costs are not in the "operating" alone, but in the non-renewable resources needed to make them happen and the high costs of maintaining them. Nuclear and SatSolar are the only sensible short term solutions we can achieve. Fusion and other exotics are the goal for long term sustainability.

  • Wind turbines are the least effective source of power short of a Gerbil on a wheel. The cost is rediculous and it does kill a ton of birds. Only a complete idiot without a calculator could think they are a good idea. Look up the total cost, vs. output. This should not even be about sides. Stupid is just stupid..

  • This would have to be the stupidest ad i have seen. How about showing the destruction from the other side? silly time to be campaigning like this considering oil drilling has just devastated the environment in the gulf.

  • WTF @DirtCrashr??? Gulf not doing too bad? What planet are you from? Ah the one that likes to suck out all the limited resources, when there is plenty of renewable choices out there we can/should be using. Funny how you class someone as a "Greeny" just because they think we should move forward in our search for energy.

  • I have long been an environementalist since my youth, and in that 40 years I have not seen any noticeable improvement in green power technology. I just hasn't happened. Wind turbines just don't work consistently, and solar is too expensive, even now, despite all those years of research.

It saddens me to see those dead birds, and I know that those turbines are creating a "dead" no fly zone in the areas where they are.

  • You guys need a dedicated youtube channel, twitter, facebook and I'm sure you have some of them.

And surely there's a young tech-savvy person who can do more sophisticated ads. It's cheap as to youtube one... Do your research... Watch the Gruen Nation and get pointers.

  • What a complete load of utter nonsense and subjective garbage... Never let fact get in the way of a 'good' video!

  • LOL. Or a bad one!! This is a shocking piece of editing!!

  • Was on the road to Canberra a couple of weeks ago and went past the Bungendore wind farm. Not one blade turning. . Time to look at nuclear and also more hydro.

  • @Billye48 fuck nuclear power. Look at what happened to Chernobyl. Ban uranium mining forever!

  • Yes, let's keep going with the oil drilling. That is going really well in the Gulf of Mexico. And so many other places in the world. Can you guys think a little further outside the square than you are doing please.

  • Great . Those bloody ugly bird killing, overhyped, resources guzzling wind turbines should be banned. Cool Ad !!!!
