Just a thought, but the TARDIS took off on New Years Eve 2005 because the last person he saw was Rose before the 9th Doctor met her. So it very well be that Amy Pond is from 2005.

it was XMAS 2010 when he crashed
It was 2007 with Martha and he met donna, just before that, in 2006, so it tends to be the year after the XMAS special that he meeta sthe companions!

Because every other Xmas special ended with the Doctor taking off in the TARDIS, with potentially a lot of time passing before he meets the next companion.
The End of Time carries on in real time - Christmas Day 2010, the TARDIS goes up into space, blows up and falls back down to Earth.
It's still the same day as he left.
