Hey im been looking how do you make a bone twist??? rotate side ways with a helper to control the xrotation? Mine doesnt rotate.... just rotates in y axis not x axis.
i have one, i have a model, and when i put the bones like in the other tutorial, it deformes the mesh, i dont know what to do, iff i have to cut parts, iff i have to group them, or iff its just a setting problem... can i send you the project and you then say whats rong pls??
@josediogomafra - sorry, don't have time to do that - suggest you check out some simpler tutorials and go nice and slow in order to figure out what you did wrong.
Hi can you please make a tutorial on how to rigg a character and export it and import it to udk and how to use the character in udk no one has done that in a video have checked all over the internet or if you can rigg a character for me that i can use in udk i have the model allreddy done but i am useless in rigging im studying how to be a level designer not a 3d designer so please post me back when you can : )
I modeled the pieces of the leg separately, then used Attach to make them one single mesh - but keep in mind the mesh is made of of these separate elements, which act separately when you do add a Skin modifier to them, and each element receives its own bone to control it.
"When I made all this, these were all separate models....once I attached them all and made them one model together....they are separate elements automatically which makes them real easy to pick...."
?????????????
But once you attach all of the elements, they become one object. So how are the 'knuckles' able to pivot? Wouldn't each finger joint have to be a separate element on it's own? (Cool vids, but please 'un-confuse' me...)
Sorry mjs, I didn't see this comment till now - yes it is strange, but when you attach different meshes in Max, they can actually move independently (if they are used with a bones rig). This is done by selecting by Element when you are Skinning the Rig. Try it out - when you move a bone, only that portion of the mesh will move with it.
can somebody give me the difference and what is better struts or shocks i need to know quick

thank you very much!
Appreciate the prompt reply :)
You are helping me immensely as I have a walking model animation due soon.

are the pieces of the leg individual or did you model it as one leg?
