Why is it so many Japanese titles obviously targeted to males have such feminine advertising and boxart? The games like this I've played are fantastic, but I still wonder why they do this. Culture differnece maybe? LOL

I have nothing against this game, in fact Im going to buy it tomorrow.

Actually it does kind of matter, because for one thing in recent Atelier Iris games you get to choose 1 person in the game to have a happy ending with. Which in this game your gonna have to impress some dudes to fall in love with your character.

I love the Atelier series and I was happy to hear that 1 was gonna come for the PS3 ....but im disappointed that the main character in the game is female...They could have at least given the option to choose the sex on the main characters

@ArkGrave You do realize that the only Atelier games with a male main character were the Iris games (which were a spinoff of the main series) right?

All the real Atelier games have a female main. Atelier Annie, Lina, Lise, Marie, Elie, Judie, Lilie, Violet, Rorona, Totori... Then there's the 3 Iris games. So no, don't expect any future Atelier game to have a male main, that's not the way the series is set up.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO... Where's the gameplay? The video just showed a couple of engine cinematics and a girl running through a linear path.

Hopefully this won't turn out like the FF13 fiasco; dozens of pretty cinematics, generic characters and plot, tedious and repetitive gameplay with no real RPG elements at all. Japanese developers are really falling behind. Only worth "jRPG's" this gen so far are Demon Souls, White Knight Chronicles and Valkyria Chronicles.

Cool, I love the Atelier Iris series, the graphics in shade cell resemble persona 3 and 4 a little, I´ll certanly will save money to buy this game. The RPGs of the new generations are on a roll!

I'd really suggest getting one,it's better than the XBox 360.I own a PS3 and my brother owns the 360 and I can clearly tell the PS3 is better.I heard the graphics turn out better and smoother on the PS3 than on the 360 because of a pixel error with the 360 or something,but you should get a PS3 if you have the money =)

I still don't see the reason behind buying something that is over 200 dollars just so I can play one game. I also know from my friend that the ps3 can play ps1 games however only a limited few can play ps2 games. I mainly play games that are for the ps2 so, getting a system to play only one game really doesn't interest me. I also don't mind if my games have poor graphics. I still play Zelda for the N64 and I still enjoy it. Besides, I can always buy the game and play it on my friend's ps3. :)

yehhh finally, iv been getting bored since i finished eternal sonata, ps3 has been so obcessed with all the shootem ups that they completely forget to confirm releasing RPGs out :P iv played atelier :eternal mana, the azoth of destiny and grand phantasm, and i will defo be buying this 1 XD woo for gust ltd :P

Dont forget to play Mana Khemia1/2 and Ar tonelico 1/2 sometime as well. Those games are awesome! Other than atelier annie on the DS I own all of the Atelier syled gust games.
