@Monkeygobannanas123 I have medium hair, not thick nor thin. Make sure you're using a very good ceramic tourmaline iron that clamps well. Leave it for about 10-15 seconds before rotating down towards the ends. I always curl it this way and the curls come out very EVEN without creating a funnel shape as I would get with curling from the ends first. The biggest part of the curl should be at the roots and if you're starting at the tip, the ends would be tighter than the root area.

These tutorials were meant for my sister whom had no clue how to curl her hair. I started getting many requests for more videos from random viewers, so that's how my channel got started. :D

I think the technique you used was actually really helpful but i think that your curler seems really old and big, and the smaller the curler the tighter the curls. so yeah it didnt turn out perfect (your way) but i think its just the curler. otherwise, good tips :)

@azuenko LOL I totally agree. I've had that curling iron for about 10 years now heheeeeeee. I rarely do anything to my hair so I don't use it too often. I use the flat iron now for curls and sometimes will break out the big barrel iron to do the bangs :D

MissGirly, you need to put a sock in it and keep in mind that this is a video on the mechanics and not the duration. Most obviously, you'd have to leave the iron on your hair long enough for it to curl. Everyone has different durations of time that the iron needs to be on the curl. It is the method that I'm emphasizing. If you try the method and leave it on according to how long it'll take your hair to curl, it will work and it'll be less damaging over time.

1. I was wondering if you had a video you can contribute to curl hair. If not, you should probably put a big sock in it lol.

2. Starting at the roots adds more volume and it all depends on the look you're going for.

3. Hair at the tips are several years old at the very least, therefor it would be better to start at the roots so you don't expose the already brittle dry ends to more heat than needed which is what happens when you start at the tips.

@NarsitaGrr Great! try flipping your hair forward and blow dry before curling. It helps! If you want longer lasting curls, hold them in your hand when you unravel them and let them cool before dropping them. That'll give your curl more time to "set".

Kiss Kiss Please read description. It is the "METHOD" that you should concentrate on not the time length. Leave the iron on your hair long enough to get a curl obviously. It will work for you :D

I am not a store and not here to sell my hair care items such as other videos. I rarely curl my hair but this iron from Revlon is actually pretty good because I've had it for about 10 years and it still gets really hot. I'm sure there are way better ones now but I'm gonna keep this one til it breaks. If it ain't broke, don't fix it lol

@JapanimeNinjaSword14 I don't blow dry my hair. Best thing to do is to finger comb it and let it air dry. If you can't do that, try and let it air dry half way and when your hair is damp then use a blow dryer. The trick to blow drying is to point your blow dryer downward from your roots instead of pointing from below your roots. This seals your cuticle and makes hair look shiny. It's rare that I brush my hair with anything than my hands.

@browneyedbritt Not really. My hair is pretty healthy and healthy hair holds curls a lot better than damaged hair. I didn't put any hairspray or additives in my hair but the curls still held well. It might be time for me to get a new more technologically advanced curling iron though but I don't curl it too often.

The guy at the mall was trying to sell this to me for $300 and I was about to buy but decided to research the best flat irons online. I found the exact same one on Ebay for $80 new. Corioliss flat irons are the best out there. I love my Corioliss Wet/Dry flat iron. It's the biggest barrel they have but you can also go one size smaller and it'll still look natural :D

They actually have better ones these days with ionic barrel. That seals in the cuticle for shine and if it also has infrared heat, that'll curl your hair with a lot less heat and damage. Check out the irons online at Target or WalMart. It should be really cheap :D
