Outstanding. Right up there with 'World is not enough' and 'You Only Live Twice'. Shame it wasn't used as the theme song ( which was a weak AHA offering ).
I remember listening to this song on a flight back from LA to NY. Loved it then, totally love it now. Thank GOD for Youtube and the internet. I thought I would never find it. Whew!!!!
I can't believe I found this song!!! At the times I listened 2 it my English was awful, n I kept, after 20 years searching in my mind for the tune and the lyrics, and nothing could come to it, only words I understood at that time that did not make any sense at all, but I suddenly, just 3 minutes ago, it came to my mind that something with "there was a man" rang a bell and I FOUND IT! I almost cried, been searching for it for more than 20 years! I saw the Pretenders in N.Y, n they didn't sing it
He did it twice. He was scheduled to do a 3rd, but there were legal disputes after Licence to Kill in 1989. Goldeneye was the announced and prep was meant to start at a given date in 1994. Dalton said if it wasn't ready by that date he'd go. Problems mounted up and it never made the date, and Dalton felt it had been too long.
@beefdog id have to disagree with that, i think craig plays a good flemin bond, like the bond in the books, the ruthless assassin type, craig plays it well, moore plays the playboy bond the best, and brosnan imo it just suited him, he was the right size, could act well, he could do serious and charming and he was imo the best looking bond so far, connery is overated just cos he played bond first he thinks hes the best and many others think tht too i dont think he is the best
The musical version of this song, when their riding into Vienna is so ROMANTIC. I so want to ride in Vienna in the Autumn. Any Takers?!?!?! Thanx for posting...
The song is absolutely great. I agree with conan50000 - and I've seen all the Bond movies. Speaking of that, I do think that "The Living Daylights" may be the best of the Bond movies. I know: to each to his own tastes, but it's my personal favorite.
I like the melody of the music and lyrics, its got a kinder of fairytale, to it when the credits roll at the end of the film with big Dolby stereo sound on big JBL loudspeakers!
"The Living daylights" is a classic, John Barry sound-
track and the best, original vinyl release of the entire series. Timothy Dalton was the best actor to portray 007 (he does resemble Hoagy Carmichael) and
his performance was the straightest and purest of all.
No, neither the first nor the longest running is necessarily the best, objectively speaking.
WOW! Yes it is!!! And they say that music appreciation (and imagination) is dead? Thank you for the enlightenment...I thought it was an episode of The Muppet Show running amok. LOL
If there was a girl I could dream of (and I have), it would be you, Chrissie.

i think Timothy Dalton was a good James Bond... maybe not the best but he wasnt bad either.

Dalton was like James Lazenby as Bond.. only one turn at the role, I think...why?

Oh, and I realize I made another mistake: that was GEORGE Lazenby who was Bond in only one movie

I remember saying to Chrissie: "Man you've done a bond song that's so cool"
Chrissie: "Not really"
me: "Yes it is"
Chrissie: "You think so...I guess it's kind of cool; but, no one will hear the song anyway"
And she shrugged.
She so laid back; one of the best bond songs...

to me goldeneye was my last favorite bond film. as far as the music, after john barry left, that preety much ended it for me as well.
