Insects have a very efficient biomass conversion, as do fungi and bacteria, and people are beginning to add more such foods to their diets.
For the most part, we DO peacefully coexist with microbes. Relatively few are pathogenic. And we are learning to communicate with microbes, bacteria especially, in their own languages, and by this we will be able to manipulate them better. It is to me the most fascinating!
