rjpsuh, if CBS brings it back, they should use this theme song for an opening but modernize it for 2016. That would be cool. This is a great intro. NBC's were great as well. ABC's intro's aren't that good.
Nah, in my opinion, if the NBA on CBS returns in 2016, they should use their theme song from 1989-1990, and modernize that one. You just cannot touch this music, ever. It's just that legendary.
I wish the NBA came back to CBS. CBS does nothing now after the Masters. It's just golf, mini NCAA events and the Sports Spectacular. Let's just say they fall asleep until the NFL season begins. If the NBA came back to CBS, it would be awesome. Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle, Gus Johnson and Craig Bolerjack lead the way in play by play. Jim Nantz might host or do the pxp. Unfortunately, by the time CBS gets it, if they do get it in 2016, Stockton and Lundquist will be too old.
Tommy Heinson. Truly a great NBA commentator. NBA on CBS was great. Used to watch these games every weekend. Always remember the Sunday CBS game, especially if the 76ers were playing. Great stuff.
This game was shown live in prime time, a far departure from earlier years, when weeknight playoff games in the Pacific Time Zone would tip at 8:35 p.m. (11:35 p.m. ET). Game 3 of this series, which started at 9 p.m. CT in Houston, was the last tape-delayed playoff game to date.
The Laker knew they could not beat the Celtics in 86 and purposely blew the series just to avoid giving Boston the satisfaction of beating them in the finals. Houston won the game without Akeem in the final key minutes. Give me a break.
Amazing stuff. When basketball was basketball. Awesome theme song, love it

I wouldn't mind it coming back to CBS as long as Brent doesn't come back. I prefer NBC, but I can live with CBS without Brent.

I prefer NBC also, but CBS has been on NBA hiatus for 18 years.

CBS would never rehire Brent Musburger they completely stripped him of his high position in sports in the early 90's when they fired him

Amen.
NBA on CBS, NBA on NBC, hell NBA on TBS were all better to watch than the garbage on ABC and ESPN.

@supamari0 - I agree. Great music, short pregame that doesn't drag, and no Stuart Scott (after he became bigger than the games and highlights).

Cmon, man. Give the Rockets at least a LITTLE credit. That we beat L.A. in five that year was no fluke.
