Seriously, Gary Greenfield is such an idiot ! This video just nails it. Customers asked for 64 bit, track freeze, and off-line bounce... and instead got clip gain, a channel plug-in and an earful of BS marketing. And, Avid asks us for 300 USD for this upgrade only months after coming out with PT 9, and changing to fee-based customer support ! Gary makes something like 800k USD year, and is board at several other companies, making his annual income around 4 mil ... but he is a crap CEO ...
@RIGHTMINDMUSIC I'd even take it a step further and say that users and investors should call for an SEC investigation into AVID and Greenfield. As a fairly experienced investor, and fortunately not in AVID (full disclosure, I do have *some* (not much) Apple stock)), I smell something like 2 week old tuna rotting in this company's financial and marketing practices. The timing of several events leading up to this release begs the question: who knew too much, but didn't speak? Still rich, though!
I have only been using pro tools for 3 months and already I hate avid. There customer support comprises of a shitty forum. If you have issues with your system and their software its basically your problem. I hope they go broke the pack of cunts
