@55liferider Morals that are derived from religion are merely how people interpreut them. Calvinism, Lutherism, etc. Same religion, interpreuted differently by people with different values. Humans have come very far over the last few hundred years and I believe we can still progress even further. We do not need a God to teach us how to live, we live by eperiencing it for ourselves. We can come to understand each other and the world around us much better ourselves than by fear of God.
@55liferider true, alot of religious people are so extremely dumb that there just is no way they would follow laws, those crazy nutters would just run around killing everyone. its better we keep religions, they seem to be a working way to keep people like you from killing others.

These videos made me think alot about war science and religion, now ive come to understand that even though religious people believe that their gods will stop wars. Its all ways a religion or a "blind" beliefe that starts the wars eg the 100 year war stared by religion, ww2 started by a beliefe (sorry for the poor grammer) of a supreme man. If bass our opinions on facts and evidence that everyone choses to follow (because its true) there wont be war.

Funny...another religion packaged in another way, blaming problems on God when it is the sinfull nature of mankind. We want to be independant from God but then we quickly become evil. The human heart is a black hole. Without God we would be useless altogether.
@williamsingleto Funny? I think it's quite serious thing to think about.
1. Atheis is as much of a religion as -not- collecting post marks is a hobby. If you mean believing in reliability of scientific explanations, than consider the following: religion is a belief in supernatural powers which can't be proven, while sciense actually explains how things work in a way that can be tested and oserved.
@williamsingleto 2. Atheism doent blame God at anything. Actually, atheists think that God\gods do not exist, same as with Devil. And I know that christians tend to blame Devil for some things(you said the same about atheists blaming God, didnt you?). Heaven\hell are also gone, so whenever a priest rapes a child(and that happens) nobody can say anymore - let God decide what to do while we do nothing. There is no one to blame but us. And that actually encourages us to make world a better place.
3. There is no God to be dependant from and the morality is subjective. If it was objective christians should be killing everyboy who works on sunday and exterminate all the people who do not belong to our race(s). Furthermore, some morals are inbuild in our genes. Even monkeys, which christians despite because of evolution theory, actually have "morals" and social behavior, and I dont think they know about any sort of gods. And and dont think Einstein or Darwin were "evil".
@williamsingleto It's hard to blame something on a god we don't believe in. The blame rests not on a non-existent deity, but on the dangerous ideologies promoted by believers and those that take advantage of ignorant and vulnerable minds. Yes, 'science' is a kind of religion, because it functions on a set of rules and philosophies that guides it's practice. So, if you prefer, you can call them a Theologic-religion, and a Scientific-religion.
@williamsingleto It's hard to blame something on a god we don't believe in. So, if you prefer, you can call them a Theologic-religion, and a Scientific-religion.
@williamsingleto In addition, there are plenty of societies that developed acceptable systems of morality and justice without any notion of what we would consider 'god.' Christianity is new in the spectrum of time, and hardly contains any moral teachings that are unique or innovative of the time.
@williamsingleto Finally, even members of other mammalian species practice loyalty, devotion, and aversion to homicide unless under severe duress or need for survival. So the argument that 'god' is necessary to develop a 'moral code' is simply ridiculous and false.
@xXMcNoobXx you just dont understand nature at all. the world has been thriving for billions of years. we still have like 4 billion years before earth really dies. and thats eternity to us.
I hate atheism, and this is why. They are just as manipulative as religion. If not more so. They use terms like, freedom, and the better of man, to take advantage and capitalize everything they can. Now its the same as what religions pulled in earlier centuries, but now there is science. We are slowly taking advantage of every little thing on this earth, capitalizing it, and atheism says that's okay, that we have that right as a dominant race. \The planet is dying, and so will we if we continue
@xXMcNoobXx The planet is fine, the planet was never in any danger, it our place on it thats fucked. With all our power we can't kill this planet just change it and when and if we do the planet will find balance again like it has countless times already. We are fucked not the planet.
i respect all religions. i just dislike extremest. every religion has them. the Islam/Muslim extremists who believe they have to kill America or the Christians who praise the LORD on Sunday were out partying with men who aren't their husband/wives. I'm not here to put down any religion i am just here to say that people should believe what THEY believe and not worry so much about how others are going to hell because they worship the wrong god or not any at all.
"Atheism is a wonderful philosophy of life as long as you are big, strong, and between the ages of eighteen and thirty-five. But watch out if you are in a lifeboat and there are others who are younger, bigger, or smarter."
I personaly have nothing against any gods or goddesses of Love. What I've got something against is the believe that the Abrahamic god of Hate, Lies, Murder and Destruction build at the image of an all powerful moronic warlord could be the creator of the huge and complex universe modern days science have discovered.
I respect your viewpoint and it has it's merits. People who have heads stuck a dreamland will not feel as driven to act in reality. However, all this suffering and pain you purport non-believers are more driven to prevent given the realization of our finite existence has an overlooked point. How do you reconcile the fact that most of the atrocities against each other is due to one feeling a lack of responsibility precisely because nothing matters in reality. That once they die that's it.
Gave it a good 26 seconds but I had to press stop! Going Farigging crazy because of the horrible rave song from, by the sound of it, the frigging '90's!!ELEVEN!!ELEVENELEVEN!!
The Old Lady’s TORTOISE (Hinduism) and DRAGON (Taoism) are symbols for WAVE (energy), both are analog with MAGEN DAVID (Judaism). "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is the metaphor, and also similar with allegory of rituals Thawaf circling around the Ka'ba and Sa’i oscillating along “the sinus” Marwah-Shafa during the Hajj pilgrimage (Abraham). YIN-YANG: energy-particle . CROSS (Christian) and SWASTIKA (Buddhism) are symbols for “Balance of Nature.”

Religious people some how have the hope that after this life there will be another...but this person made this video...your going down you know...i hope you all turn back from, what you believe...there is nothing wrong if we believe....to God
@alfierabe2011 Apparently believing in god doesn't do much to help you express a clear thought. What the heck are you trying to say here exactly? I think you're saying that the author of this video is going to hell but the poor grammar and lack of coherency makes your statement tough to interpret. There is a lot wrong with believing in fantasy and fairy tales. These nonsense beliefs inform people's actions and that affects everyone.
looking at my favourites i thought what,s this one i saved ,,,,,, now i know. love it and all the people in it. :-)))))))) it makes me happy. being atheist fucking rules.
I think the challenge for non-theists is that we spend more time attacking what we don't believe rather than making the case for what we do believe! That's why we get the question, "but what do you believe in?"
Thanks VERY much for including all these great heroes of rationality, AND recognizing them at the end--explicitly!--for us to take note of and keep an eye on in the future. Super great, super helpful, and very uplifting.
So firegirl I just wanna let u know that someone stole thisfrom me and the only way I'm getting to u is by someother source. Idk wat ur talking about when u say that you had something about photoshop... Dnt know u!!!
I was really taken with the lyrics (thought unfortunately not the electro-synth pop it was set to). I looked up the band and discovered another song by them called 'science', upon which moment my heart fluttered with excitement.
Unfortunately this was premature as this song was full of common anti-science propaganda. Very disappointing.
That being said; great video. I enjoyed it immensely.
To: Undertehlaw. Get a high school diploma and learn how to read, think and spell . . . until then, keep your piehole shut, stay off YouTube, and hit the books, putz! Your stupidity is mind boggling!
Well, well done, Dog! As a senior citizen video editor who has labored over his own video projects, I truly appreciate the large amount of work and thought you put into to this.
Take a well deserved bow, pal! You are reaching young minds that are hopefully not yet fully inculcated with the relgious Kool-aid of their parents, as my generation was, and the generation of my parents, and their parents.
@MickeyMaguire Another senior to second that emotion. I'm supremely jealous of the younger generation of Atheists who have these wonderful tools resulting from science and technology to express themselves so creatively. I fully support all of you. You give me hope for the future. Thank you.
let me ask u all a question if their is no G-d then how could it be that all those different people have the EXACT SAME VOICE answer me that u cant can u?
2 Peter 3:3-6 "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished..."
2 Timothy 4:3-4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables."
1.a short tale to teach a moral lesson, often with animals or inanimate objects as characters; apologue: the fable of the tortoise and the hare; Aesop's fables.
2.a story not founded on fact: This biography is largely a self-laudatory fable.
3.a story about supernatural or extraordinary persons or incidents; legend: the fables of gods and heroes.
4.legends or myths collectively: the heroes of Greek fable.
5.an untruth; falsehood: This boast of a cure is a Medical fable.
@JackCain I don't think it's funny, I just think it's a bad argument. Well, there are many other fables, such as Scientology for example. Lord Xenu? Yeah...
@coffinperson Ah, Scientology. A total scam based on lies and emotional manipulation that exists solely to cheat people out of money. Which has nothing to do with rational thinking, science or atheism.
I mean, it was created in the 70s by a science fiction author...honestly.
@inventingwheels Have you ever made an original claim based on an original thought? Or do you just regurgitate information you find on the internet? You know, like AnswersInGenesis
@deedubya286 You'd go for a religion where they claim that psychiatrists are evil people out to meddle with God's creation, and that if your child is suffering a psychiatric breakdown, to not get them help, but rather put their life in God's hands? Yeah, excuse me if I don't find your pro-alien stance as any more credible than the snake-talkers. And I'm pro-alien too, yet I still find this idea of supporting scientology as completely deluded, cult-like thinking.
@RedAntLiberationArmy You took me far to seriously. I just meant if I was ever to participate in a religious delusion that, as a sci-fi fan, I would prefer one with the entertainment value of aliens rather than the petty, bungling, insignificant christian god who seems to be in a state of perpetual hissy-fit.
Jude 1:17 "But, beloved, remember you the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit."
@War4Gore He was agnostic, thus an atheist by default as he didn't believe in a god. But he did once say he believed in the god of Spinoza so perhaps he could be called a pantheist. But as Richard Dawkins says, pantheism is "sexed-up atheism". There's no proof that he believed in a creator.
It's a nice first attempt. I'm hoping you'll create something that has beautiful images and a really great voice (like Ted Williams'), carefully laying out what and why we sane folks see things as we do.
For my intended purpose - something powerful to throw at the religion-bound - it was too brash, music wise, the text was too small and went away too quickly. I would be sending something like this to bible thumpers so I'd rather not try to make them read, just listen. I mean well. Good on ya!
I'm making my own video about atheism now. I've been considering it for a while but this video inspired me to voice my opinion about our place in the cosmos.
What you mean to tell me I'm the first one to comment? Dude... totally unnecessary. I mean I'm with you but the cheese factor on this is way too high. And then that unlit room, I-can't-see-your-hands, scene really scared me but I guess I applaud your enthusiasm. I wonder what these people would say if they were shown this video...

I think the challenge for non-theists is that we spend more time attacking what we don't believe rather than making the case for what we do believe! That's why we get the question, "but what do you believe in?"
grahamk5 7 months ago
Thanks VERY much for including all these great heroes of rationality, AND recognizing them at the end--explicitly!--for us to take note of and keep an eye on in the future. Super great, super helpful, and very uplifting.

All of the best,
Peter A. "Mickey" Maguire

@MickeyMaguire Another senior to second that emotion. I'm supremely jealous of the younger generation of Atheists who have these wonderful tools resulting from science and technology to express themselves so creatively. I fully support all of you. You give me hope for the future. Thank you.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables."
coffinperson 1 year ago
@coffinperson "turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables" That sounds less like atheists and more like theists...
JackCain 1 year ago
@JackCain To me, it sounds a lot like the theory of evolution and atheism.
coffinperson 1 year ago
@coffinperson Fable.

Okay, well how about the "Flying Spaghetti Monster?" Sounds like a fable to me.

@coffinperson No, that would be a joke. It's something people do because they think it's funny.
JackCain 1 year ago
@JackCain I don't think it's funny, I just think it's a bad argument. Well, there are many other fables, such as Scientology for example. Lord Xenu? Yeah...
coffinperson 1 year ago
@coffinperson Ah, Scientology. A total scam based on lies and emotional manipulation that exists solely to cheat people out of money. Which has nothing to do with rational thinking, science or atheism.
I mean, it was created in the 70s by a science fiction author...honestly.

@JackCain Don't knock Scientology. If I was ever going to choose a religion to join I would definitely go for one with aliens in it.
deedubya286 1 year ago
@deedubya286 Scientology is so 2008. Gnosticism is where it's at. All the cool kids follow it./
JackCain 1 year ago
@JackCain You don't follow gnosticism. Gnosticism follows you.
mpicanco 1 year ago
@deedubya286 You'd go for a religion where they claim that psychiatrists are evil people out to meddle with God's creation, and that if your child is suffering a psychiatric breakdown, to not get them help, but rather put their life in God's hands? Yeah, excuse me if I don't find your pro-alien stance as any more credible than the snake-talkers. And I'm pro-alien too, yet I still find this idea of supporting scientology as completely deluded, cult-like thinking.
RedAntLiberationArmy 1 year ago
@RedAntLiberationArmy You took me far to seriously. I just meant if I was ever to participate in a religious delusion that, as a sci-fi fan, I would prefer one with the entertainment value of aliens rather than the petty, bungling, insignificant christian god who seems to be in a state of perpetual hissy-fit.

Good on ya!

What you mean to tell me I'm the first one to comment? Dude... totally unnecessary. I mean I'm with you but the cheese factor on this is way too high.
