If your in your mid to late 30's you'll know exactly where half these sounds came from and they aren't new, go back and listen to early 90's Dutch rave and hardcore tracks and see if you recognise some of the sound. Now everything must be put in a category, TBH if it wasn't for the oldschool none of this Nu/New/Raw style hardstyle would exist.

Although sadly there is a new generation of "kids" who want hands up melodic hardstyle with soft kicks that barely even resembles a bassline. These are the same kids that probably would like Scooter. Hardstyle tracks with raw synth cuts and hoover bass is too dark for them. Hopefully Slim Shore keeps making these types of track because i fully support him.

What most people mean by 'Nu-style' is a sound between kicks. It's hard to describe, and the easiest way to understand what I mean is just listen to some "older" hardstyle tracks, tracks like:

Brennan Heart - One-master-blade

The Beholder & Max Enforcer - Bitcrusher

The Prophet - Emergency call

But I totally agree with you that Hardstyle is meant to have dark(er) melodies and I like this track!

Jeez here's an idea for around half of the people who left negative comments. DO NOT listen to this and say "This track is not good because it's not hardstyle....nustyle sucks blah blah....".
