  • anyone know what intrument is playing the little wind solo? and were i could possibly find the music for it, ??

    it's so pretty!

  • @ash88488...It's a penny whistle...part of the family of instruments known as "Tin Whistles"

  • My Irish Dance Team did a dance to a variation of this song and before every performance my teacher would say that the story of the song is about two people in love, but they harvest different seaweed and therefore can't be together

  • Happy Birthday Meav!

  • it's her birthday today! happy birthday, meav!

  • my fav is hailey cloe and lisa

  • Does anyone know the name of the drummers and if their married ^-^

  • @crstalmoon88 i want to know the name of the guy who sings with her towards the end

  • The song is about seaweed...seriously. The English translation of the lyrics is nowhere near as stirring as the original.

  • @2:35 he winked at her!!

  • MY BEST FRIEND WENT TO THIS CONECERT!!! >:O

  • @okoyfman....Your best friend lives in Ireland?????

  • My ears just raised the standard for hearing!

  • i love this song i have no idea what they r saying but i think that makes it even more fun to listen too

  • @Allibear69 I have this song(lyrics) memorized. You should look another song. It's called Nil Se'n La!

  • Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach

Dúlamán na farraige, b'fhearr a bhí in Éirinn

  • @8412PETER heck yes. I LOVE CELTIC WOMAN!!

  • shes so spunky

  • She is so pretty when she sings this.

    Take that back...

    She is so pretty.

  • WTF clap at 3:01

  • Sa voix est fantastique!

    Her voice is wonderful !

  • ive just received a ticket for one of their concerts in germany next year for xmas... how awesome is that!!

  • For once the suggested videos isn't cluttered up with junk

  • Yay to anyone who broke the replay button.

  • 非常棒的歌声!nice voice!

  • I love this song so much. I think this one and the voice are my personal favs from the concert.

  • I really would think Dulaman in chipmunk version would sound cool.

  • @sar8ful You have a bizarre sense of humor, but it would sound cool.!!!!!

  • anyother songs by her in this language?

  • @victorchapin3 She has several, my favorite is "Si Do Mhaimeo I - Wealthy Widow". She also does "Silent Night" in Irish.

  • @TripBoomLikeThat I love Si Do Mhaimeo I!

  • The Celtic Woman always sound great. No matter what your doing there voices and Gaeilge is soothing to listen to.

  • I JUST LOV THIS MEAV NI SINGING THIS SONG...ITS LIKE A VITAMIN B SHOT FOR ME...I AM 80 YEARS OLD..

  • @MrBillywicks you still get Vit B shots at 80 ...you go girl!!!!!!!!!1111

  • The woman singing in this video IS Meav ni Mhaolchatha. She had dark hair on the cover of one of her solo albums but nearly every other picture and video shows her as blonde.

She has left Celtic Woman since this concert was recorded and other girls have performed this song, including Lynn Hilary who is a brunette, but I assure you this video is of Meav.

  • Einzigartig!

  • why can the guy at 2:33 continue singing with meav

  • is there a way to find the lyrics and music sheet to this? because this is a fantastic song and im intensely interested in finding out thanks =)

  • is she speaking Gaelic or French or Russian?

  • @JuanDVene Irish) Which you can call Gaelic, but it's best to say Irish, Irish Gaelic, or Gaeilge (the Irish word). It'sone of the most beautiful languages in the world. :)

  • @JuanDVene....the language is Gaeilge which is the official language of Ireland...Please don't call it Gaelic or Irish Gaelic...because it's NOT Gaelic isn't a language it's a language family that has several languages and dialects...We simply call it Irish...

  • I'm new to you tube. Will someone become friends with me? I would appreciate it.

  • I love this song!!!! I can't understand it but she says so good.

  • @sar8ful It's about seaweed, I'm not joking. The English translation of the chorus:

Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed

Seaweed from the ocean, the best, the best

Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed

Seaweed from the ocean, the best, the best

The best in all of Ireland

  • @roguelead72 Really? Amazing! My brother thought it was a love story! LOL!

  • @sar8ful..It is in a way

  • @sar8ful...It's actually about 2 men one the father and the other the man who wants to marry the other mans daughter....The song uses 2 types of seaweed as metaphors for the 2 men

  • @gaeilge1O1 Really? Wow!

  • @gaeilge1O1 So it's a romantic story with seaweed.

  • @roguelead72 Do you know Irish?

  • @sar8ful Not much, but Altan did this song years ago and they explained it. It's actually a children's song.

  • @roguelead72 Sorry but no it's not a children's song

  • @gaeilge1O1 Ahh ok, the Altan liner notes said that, so I just assumed it was.

  • @roguelead72 Isn't her name Méav?

  • @sar8ful no. Meav has dark hair

  • @JuanDVene Really? Are you sure? because I watched a video and it named some of the Celtic Woman and the one who sang Dúláman was Méav.

  • @sar8ful but there is this solo album from one of the girls from celtic woman called celtic journey, and the cover shows a picture of a dark haired woman and next to it it says Meav. Look up Santruai (Suantrai?) by Meav

  • @JuanDVene....Yes Meav's natural hair color is dark, but most of the time you see her she is blonde...This is Méav Ní Mhaolchatha..

  • @JuanDVene Women have been known to change their hair color in this day and age! This is Meav, check video information(Show more) under the video.

  • @roguelead72 Will you become youtbe friends with me? I would appreciate that.

  • @roguelead72...Not quite..Yes Dulaman means seaweed..but the song is about 2 men on is the father of a girl that the other man wants to marry..The song uses 2 types of seaweed as metaphors for the 2 men...

  • damn! it's pretty hard tune to sing..

  • best irish song EVER and i would know i love celtic music :D

  • this is my fav song also if I don't understand completely anything :D ...btw I have to say that one of the singers (1:43) is very handsome :P

  • @CelticEledhwen It's very fast, could he be Jeremy Morgan? I can be wrong, so if someone can correct me, please, do it. :-)

  • For those who read the zelda fanfic "Desert Fortress" , this is the song I pictured them dancing to at the festivals :D

  • need this like as unto a fine wine.

  • I hate to say it..but I like omnias version better...

  • @HatterMRULEZ I agree with you! I think Celtic Woman is overcommercialized plastic paddy garbage. Omnia is where it's at!

  • @notgreatreallyokay well, i do love celticwomen, but they're better at nice slow stuff, and Dulaman is supposed to be more upbeat and fun, like how omnia preformed it.

  • @HatterMRULEZ Exactly :D

  • I think this guy with the tambourine drum looks a bit funny :P

  • My dream is join CW.

  • wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunderschpön

  • seaweed seaweed seaweed seaweed

  • Im singing along as a best I can. Too bad I don't speak any Gaelic LOL

  • @FaeriesAndWitches Me too. Lol. I don't speak it but I'm trying. :D

  • @FaeriesAndWitches...That's good because there's no such language as Gaelic...Gaelic is a language family with several languages and dialects...The language Meav is singing in is Gaeilge which is the official language of Ireland...We simply refer to it as Irish....

  • @gaeilge1O1 oh, I didn't know that :P thanks

  • 2:32 wink wink

  • I listen to these girls and the High Kings all day, everyday! Gotta get my daily dose since I'm Scots/Irish living in Tennessee wishing I was in Ireland or Scotland! Haha.

  • @Arissef Haha, if anything it's definetly a token of good taste :)

  • @RaeRocks09 no they crazy cos they arnt true to themselves

  • @RaeRocks09 welcome in the club=)

  • @RaeRocks09 Gorgeous women, beautiful voices what's not to love? Hell I was watching them on PBS the other night while I was putting my 2 yr old to bed, she sat up and just sat there watching intently until it was time to start yelling shut up at the pledge breaks.

  • For the life of me I cannot understand what there is on ANY CW song to dislike. Oh wait, I see now. CW has talent, INCREDIBLE beauty, genuine artistry and phenomenal music and they want justine bieber.

  • @sassynerdprincess281..sure if Gaelic was a language, but it's not....Gaelic is a language family, it has several languages and dialects...She is singing in Gaeilge which is the official language of Ireland...

cinnte má bhí Ghaelach ina teanga, ach níl sé .... Gaelacha is teaghlaigh teanga, tá sé lán teangacha, agus canúintí ... Tá sí ag canadh sa Ghaeilge ina bhfuil an teanga oifigiúil na hÉireann ...

  • hermosa voz me encanta

  • I can't here this song enough

  • it sounds awesome, but in which language the are singing? :3

  • @Krissi8friends...The language is Gaeilge, which is the official language of Ireland...It's roots are in the Gaelic language family. It was on the verge of becoming a lost language, but it's being taught again in our schools and is a required class...Dulaman means "seaweed"...The song uses 2 types of seaweed as metaphors for 2 men. one a father and the other the man who wants to marry his daughter...

  • @gaeilge1O1 woah amazing :D thanks ^____^

  • @gaeilge1O1

    Question

Are there any good websites for learning Gaeilge?

  • @stuckinsidemyself...None that I know of...Gaeilge is a very hard language...the written word sometimes looks nothing like the word is pronounced..

Tá Níl aon cheann go bhfuil a fhios agam an ... Tá sé an teanga an-chrua ... an focal scríofa Breathnaíonn uaireanta aon rud cosúil leis an bhfocal pronounced ..

  • @gaeilge1O1 Ok, thanks anyway!

  • @gaeilge1O1 dont use google translate, that makes so sense. "is teanga an-chrua í "

  • The drummers look like they're drawing on their drums.

Wish I could sing like that. :-)

  • i agree ImYinSoo

  • The only people who don't like CW are the people who can't stand any language that's not their own and don't like "world" music or slow, nice music like this. That's the ONLY reason.

  • @RuckalltheFules

If you call this song SLOW I would hate to see what you call fast! :)

  • Can someone post some lyrics to this song in english please?

  • @MortimerHobart .. Oh gentle daughter, here come the wooing men Oh gentle mother, put the wheels in motion for me [Chorus:] Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed Seaweed from the ocean, the best in all of Ireland There is a yellow gold head on the Gaelic seaweed There are two blunt ears on the stately seaweed The Irish seaweed has beautiful black shoes The stately seaweed has a beret and trousers
  • @gaeilge1O1

    Thanks

  • she has a really magical voice, it's hard to stop listening.

  • haha, did anyone else notice the wink at 2:34? :P

  • @folkflutist I certainly did :)

  • @abtsadiemaekole um............. clarinet? For future reference, that's a tin whistle. A clarinet is a reed instrument, where as this is a whistle. It sounds nothing like a reed.

  • the dude playing the clarinet in the beginning kinda looks like joel mchale from the soup

  • @abtsadiemaekole...Ummm That's not a clarinet..that instrument is part of a family of instruments known as "tim whistles"..the particular on in this video is a "penny whistle"...They are used extensively in Irish and Scotish music...

  • @gaeilge1O1 Oh... I was trying to think of what instrument it was. It sounds so much like a clarinet, but then a gain i havent been in band in so long. LOL

  • I love this song so much! It is really beautiful and the meaning behind it is very funny! I just wish I was able to sing it!!!

  • I don't care if anyone thinks or tells me I'm gay-I freaking love this song!

  • @buzzybeetle95 lol I'm a straight man and I love this song because the girl's hot and the music is inspiring and picks me up... ignore worrying about people calling you 'gay'

  • @Cyrusk4 Thanks man :D

  • This reminds me of the music from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

  • I saw them yesterday in paris !!

  • 67 people missed when trying to click the like button. I can't blame them, you can't keep your eyes of the video... such great music and such a great show!

  • Dear Youtube,

We seem to have a HUGE problem! There are dislike buttons on all the Celtic Woman videos! Please remove them!

    Signed, Celtic woman fans

  • I utterly adore this piece

  • the choir member who is paired with meav in the end of att he ceili he's really cute

  • What means the dislike button under the video?...

  • @SarahSophieWagner it means ye canny understand the song! :)

  • Meav is a real beauty

  • i love Gaelic:)

ok and the guy who sings to lisa:) lol

  • @MsRibbonsandPearls DEF MEAV!!! jk i cant type and ytalk

  • @MsRibbonsandPearls...Gaelic??? Sorry but there's no such language as Gaelic...Gaelic is a language family with several languages and dialects...The language Meav is singing in is Gaeilge, which is the official language of Ireland., we simply call it Irish....

  • @gaeilge1O1 thankyou:)y family is part irish i just wish i knew more about the culture. thankyou though:) that also probably wehy i couldn't find the right pronunciation:)

  • @MsRibbonsandPearls...Always glad to help....As for as Irish culture..we are trying to preserve it daily, a lot of people in Ireland would just as well see our traditional Irish culture disappear.. Luckily there are also many who are trying to preserve our culture and the government is helping....Our language is being taught again in school and is a required class...

I noticed you said the guy who sings to Lisa...ummm Lisa isn't in this video, this is being sung by Meav

  • @gaeilge1O1 yeah it didn't sho where i had corrected myself. i was talkin to my mom about the group because she is alway like who are you listenin too? but yeah we don't get many options for languages i wish i had it as an option it's either spanish french or german,

  • i love Gaelic:)

  • was is das für ne sprache?

  • @ImaginaryNightshade..True. with one exception..Gaeilge is being spoken more and more on the streets of Irish cities...The language is being taught again in our school system and is a required class...There are lots of people here who would like to see the language make a comeback.... ....

  • <3 Meav <3
