I appreciate all these valuable discussion made here, but I'll just put it simple. If you get better knowledge and better eye on a certain style of dance, then you can just get to evaluate what is good or not. As bboys can tell how good somebody's bboying skill is and as more expereienced they become, more accurate their evaluation get, it just applies same to the house dance
wtf is housing i don't understand this.... i'm being completely serious and i don't mean to hate but like i just can't comprehend how these battles work.... like bboyin and krump u see who has more hype, skill, ect. but how can u tell with houshing?
battling isn't a defining practice in house culture like it is in b-boying. the emphasis is always on the FEELING. you have to experience it yourself through the music and in the dance to truly understand because not even watching (at this point) will help you---this feeling does.
the dance grew from club & night life scenes in Chicago and New York---not in parks or on sidewalks. visit a club some time if you can't guess what kind of influence these 2 very different environments produce.
oooh ok i c thanx yo and how is this a bad comment?? do ppl seriously take a question like this in the ass cuz idk what housing is?? if so whoever didn't like my comment.... u suck haha jk jk yo haha love all dancers though
But house'ing and krumping it comes with the feeling of the music. And if you DO use all your moves, you are getting away from true essence of the dance,,,,,,,,,the Cypher
Because u are doing what the music is "telling or inspiring" to do, and it may not have a bad ass move until like 2 hours into the night, haha. SOrry guys but that's my take on it I do multiple styles of dancing. Hate to admit it, but there alot of limitations to a set up battle, the music, the lack of cypher, etc. So it's hard to really determine anything if the main element is missing. The only real thing that is even close is b-boy'in or poppin, because u use all your moves right then.
haha ok ok, the COMMON misconception about House dancing is competition. Usually it's all about Flava, creativity and HOW you hit the beat. It's not really for battling, it's more like something you do as your own person. In a sense something you do in a cypher or in this case a House cypher. You constantly feel the music and groove with the beat. As far as competition goes, the better one is usually determined after alot of rounds at the END of the night.
