My mother developed dementia and it was hell for me and my family. Her sister refused to accept that something was wrong with my mother and did not help me out in any way. Had a difficult time finding a nursing home to take her in due to her combativeness. It took breaking her hip while fighting with hospital staff to slow her down. I was glad when she finally passed away. :(
