yeah well this is pretty flawed. you shouldn't ask if it's the same 'amount'. perhaps the kid just reckons that 'amount' refers to number; in which case he is right about the crackers, and he doesn't have a problem with his mental faculties, it's just an issue of communication.
i remember really clearly that at this age i wasnt this stupid....i was placed in a gifted and talented class b/c i just kept trollin other kids my age
@naktacs i really dont believe grammer in a comment box is going to dictate how smart or dumb i am. the kid in the vid on the other hand is dumb. if you dont believe me then prove to me that he isnt
You're clearly under 16. Your brain isn't even fully developed until 21 for most people.
You also spell badly, use acronyms, and why would I care if that kid is dumb? He's a kid, just like you.
Also, you said you were "trollin" the other kids your age? First of all, only idiots use the word "troll" anymore, second of all, you're obviously socially inept, as that's what trolls are. The word troll doesn't even apply to real life.
@naktacs the kid is stupid and thats that!! you are acting like you have a kid that is just as stupid as well. or maybe you were this stupid growing up? you sure are taking this pretty seriously for a youtube vid.
@ultimate19831 No, he's not particularly dumb. In fact, he's perfectly normal. As a 5-year old, he's still in what Piaget calls the preoperational stage of cognitive development. It's characteristic for that stage that children don't have an understanding of conservation yet (among other things). That's what's being demonstrated in this video. Almost all children his age will answer the same way he did.
i used the water ones on my cousins after i learned this in pysch class last year and the one cousin was barely old enough but he got the right answer however his younger siblings didnt

Interesting ... and at which Piaget stage do people learn the conservation of water (when pouring it into another glass)? ;-)

@naktacs seems like all you can do is upload vids of how you play video games so that makes all your arguments invalid. also.....this kid is stupid
i4yue 9 months ago
@i4yue Seems like you think my uploaded videos are connected to the validity of my argument.
This makes you stupid.

Best video i've found on here for conservation. The only one i've seen where the questions were asked correctly. Well done.
