  • I own the same sled, I will admit they are quick!!

  • Im rebuilding a 1973 cheetah

  • I'm buying a 1978 this week! :)

  • Those Minnesota accents!

  • Rip Charlie

  • "he also went faster on a snowmobile than anyone ever has and probably ever will!"

i think they greatly underestimated how fast sleds could go 17 years later, like the Thundercat 900 with 175hp and the other big triples of the '90s.

  • This music is WAY TOO HAPPY.

  • Oh yes, the 1970's! Listen to that rockin' music of the time!

  • Iove these old cats........i have a collection for my self........make no other sled like the Arctic Cat.......

  • Rest in peace, Charlie Lofton...you were truely one of the all time greats in Cat racing history!!

Wish I coulda had the pleasure of meeting you in person. You brought so much joy & laughter to snowmobile fanatics everywhere-God bless you!!!

  • Sold it 'cause I just couldn't keep it running. I think it just sat too long from when it was new. I did buy a brand new '78 Jag 3000 when I was 17 ...Ah, the fun times I had on that li'l rocket!! Used to ride over 1000 miles a season back then-awesome memories. That was all back in good ol' TRF MN. The home of Arctic Cat!!! (almost lost my life on that Jag a time or two!! NEVER trust river ice!!! ) lolol

  • I bought a '78 pantera back in '92 or so with 935 miles on it. Came with elect. start. Awesome sleds-wish I wudda kept it for a vintage sled.

  • the pantera was thie high end trail sled the jag was the high end sport sled(i have both 76 pantera 81 jag)

  • I have a 76 Pantera too. Check out the videos of it if you'd like.

  • Panther is like luxury, pantera is like an early days mountain sled, one of my buddies just go one and they are really lite, have a tone of power and can go through anything. im not even sure what the jag is. it is kind of a cross between both, fast , good power in the deep. i would take the pantera over the jag though. but the jag has better suspension. el tigres kick ass even more!!!!

  • i got a jag, its bad ass

  • what's the difference between a Panther & a Pantera? is the Jag lower end or higher than the pantera? i remember the El Tigre being the top of the line sled from Arctic-Cat

  • my uncle had this pantera,it was a 500cc,just like my dads el'tigre. The tiger took it in a drag (barely). Both machines could push 80-90mph.The pantera had a taller shield with handlebar warmers.the late 70's jags had single carbs and only had 240cc/340cc engines.

  • My Pantera is good for 80-85 mph. See my videos if you'd like.

  • I liked the pantera alot. I'll be sure to check out yours.Does it have handlebar warmers? I wonder if it was standard equipment on panteras.

  • No warmers on mine. I do believe that was optional only.

  • they dont make em like they used to.

  • love the old cats. take it, that was a brand new machine at one time, now it probably doesnt exist. ive been riding cat all my life. wont ride anything else

  • I have a 1976 fan-cooled. Old school "muscle car" sound. You just fall in love with these sleds!!!!

  • i got a 1975. its niice

  • where did u get these old commercials send em all 2 me thanks

  • @arcticcatdude124 use a youtube converter. You can convert them all to MP4. Thats what im doing right now.
