Pele is my favorite album but for me personally this song while she is playing it beautifully & with heart here, lacks the angst and sadness the lyrics are calling upon. It does not evoke the same emotional response for me as her 96-99 versions. It makes sense, & I know this is a tired played out comment - but her life is so happy now, success, marriage, a child entering teen years already - she has growth and peace inside...that puts distance between the emotions that surrounded that song xo

so serene...its like the calm before the storm. One hell of a song. Just as in real life..sometimes the lure of damage(whatever that damage may be is different for us all) draws you closer and closer to it.
