  • Very limited playing and music. The only thing half decent about Bonamassa is that John Norum likes him somewhat. lol.

  • SUPER!!!

  • A bit of a robert cray fat tone!

  • Lovely stuff!! . . .

  • Real punchy tone from the LP, Joe's the man!

  • Good quality! Thank you for this, man!

  • No doubt JB is a great guitarist but IMO his slick, creamed back hair, tinted glasses image just doesn't quite fit with a tribute to the slightly bedraggled Irish genius that is Gary Moore. It feels a bit like the public schoolboy rich kid is paying tribute to the poor working class kid who did good. Either way, a great guitarist but he has not got the soul or taken the bumps and bruises that GM has in order to be called a legend any time soon.

  • @scottyelliott2007 Nah, I respectfully disagree. Joe works harder than almost any musician I know and has for many years. I welcome his "look". Being tired of the dissolute look as a shield. However I completely agree that Gary Moore was an Irish genius guitarist/vocalist and will shout it out with you.

  • @scottyelliott2007 really? you're concerned with his "look". where i'm from i don't listen with my eyes. This guy kills it. i wouldn't care if he rolled up in a clown suit and smelled like eggs.

  • Love Gary Moore and love Joe Bonamassa. Wish I could have seen them play together. RIP Gary.

  • Thank fuck for Joe Bon and Gary Moore

  • I cried when i heard this, two of my all time favourite guitarists, Gary Moore may not be around anymore, but his music lives on. A truly beautiful tribute to the late GREAT Gary Moore. Thanks Joe xx

  • joeboe !!

  • @omegalast800 didn't Gary get a '59 LP from Peter Green ??

  • @Okpolosi Yes he did.

  • Fusion Master

  • White Blues - Real!

  • Absolutely fantastic tribute to the great man of Blues/Rock, Gary Moore. . . Still cuts like a knife that he's gone. . .

  • TONE TONE TONE!!!

  • Jack Bruce and Joe Bonamassa together doing a Gary Moore tribute, outstanding!

  • Awesome video and tribute to Gary - thanks Joe B!

  • BRILLIANT,close your eyes and you can almost believe your listening to the great Gary Moore

  • love Joe

  • It's one of the most beautifull tones i've ever heard *-*, It's remainds me a bit to Page's sound in the early 70's

  • gary moore was killer all the way. true gibson les paul guy, too.

always amazed me that as popular as he was in europe, i never recall him playing in the states during his solo career

  • @stratman900 I saw him in 1984 and 1987 here in the States. In '84 he was opening for Rush. He headlined in 1987.

  • What a great tribute to Gary Moore rip mate

  • I love it and thanks to sent me this

  • every time i see jack bruce i think of a little bill murray...cant help it lol....love these guys...

  • what a trio two legends and one getting there fast

  • JB is GOD!!!

  • @JoeBlack1804 TALENT

  • @TheANTICELEB so true

  • Great tribute to one of the greats!

  • At 1:25 Joe plays what sounds like a jazz clarinet run. Totally brilliant!

  • one of the great ones r i p gary

  • send him back to earth please

  • I think Joe was trying his level best to remain respectful and not to steal the spotlight from Jack Bruce. Having the insight to allow Bruce to direct the direction of the jam, especially on a song Bruce co-wrote was a wise and professional move. I know Joe could have cut loose and taken the jam to a much higher plane, but what would that have proven? How much of a jerk would he have appeared to be if he did and the jam fell apart? It was good for what it was, a tribute to Gary Moore.

  • @Jakexx01 Totally agree Jake- and very well put!! Jack is my man, and Gary too, but BBM was my favorite lineup of his, though I don't know everything. Also 'Blues for Greeny', the great P.G. tribute.

  • I have a feeling that when he dies Joe will come back and do a tribute to himself.....

  • Wow Joe really s a great player...great tone ....nice tribute to one of the greatest Gary Moore

  • Ooooh yeah

  • This guy restores my faith in musicians. As a kid of the 70's I was spoiled with all the great writers and musicians. The last few years almost all I've heard sucks out loud, a bunch of shitheads singing in front of a computer! We will be playing Joe Bonamassa for a long time. Thanks Joe.

  • Joe is the best. I believe he toned down here out of respect for Gary. He is better than anybody else but chose not to outshine the great one. This is a fantastic tribute and a sign that Joe has great respect for people that influenced blues and rock.

  • @fgolebiewski77 No one can outshine Gary Moore. Even Joe would tell you that.

  • No-one will ever be or come close to the musical talent of Gary Moore, but this is some fantastic playing, nice interpretation regardless whether you like it or not, i'd love to play like this...

  • I'm a huge J. B. fan, but Gary would have played this far better

  • Oh Yeah ! nice bit of b.b king at 4:30

  • Joes tone sucks in this performance.

  • "When I went into the studio to make my first album with Racer X, I took Gary Moore's 'Corridors of Power' with me so I could show the engineer what I wanted my guitar to sound like. I have loved Gary's sound and especially his playing ever since I first heard him. He had quite possibly the most aggressive vibrato and picking attack of ANY guitarist. I'll miss him, and I'll try to bend my strings even more, in tribute to his musical spirit."

    Paul Gilbert

  • @680540 Listening back to the old Gary solo albums, I just realized how much Paul really took influence from Gary! It really just hit me, haha! The wide-ass vibratos, the picking fury and the screaming bluesy licks all came from Gary's influence. Amazing.

    We all miss Gary!!

  • @15viceandvirtues That happened to me too.I never really noticed until i read that.

  • @680540 Michael Angelo Batio, Joe Stump, Paul Gilbert, Chris Impellitteri, Greg Howe, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Andy Timmons, etc................. Gary Moore had a huge influence on almost all top shreders and their technique. He is considered as the first real speed guitar player.

  • @SethCampbell66 It would have been be nice if he had gotten the respect he deserved outside the guitarists' community.

  • @680540 Paul .. Thanks for leaving any attitude that I figure you probably don't have anyways, and being so honestly open with your feelings for Gary's accomplishments. I have followed your career quite closely as well and must indeed congratulate you for all of your successes. I last saw you tearing it up at The Berkeley Community Center along with Joe Satriani. Hope to see you again sometime soon. I also miss Gary..And keep on bending them Brother!

  • @sfordblues1 Thanks for the kind words, but i'm not Paul. That is just a quote of Paul's that i found on the internet.

  • The version he did with Rory's guitar is smashing. This one is a little low key for various reasons. Love the song and Joe's interpretation of it.

  • erstmals was zu üben

  • '59 LP tone

  • BRAVO JACK!!... BRAVO BONAMASSA!!

  • jack bruce... i never saw this great man playing this underutilized.

  • Excellent !! One of the few that has a right to play the master's music!

  • gary forever

  • joe just tuning his guitar sounds better then any new music of today

  • That tone just doesn't have the depth of Moore's sound, but beautiful playing

  • @stratometer ..Joe is not trying to be Gary ...or sound like Gary....just purely playing a tribute to the great man ...in his own style!

  • @omegalast800 Exactly !

  • @stratometer I agree bit no-one can play like Gary did! Gary's singing was also considerable better. All the same respect to Joe for playing this and exposing himself to the exact type of comments some of us are making here.

  • @stratometer ...you have to take into account the fact that Joe was using Lazy J amps ....which is by far not his usual rig!

  • @stratometer Not many can achieve Gary Moore's tone...that's why he was so amazing! Joe B is freaking awesome in his own right, though...incredibly versatile, rounded musician!

  • @stratometer - on a contrary...Joe's tone has much more depth in my opinion than the typical Gary Moore's tone. It's a question of amps and set-up basically. Joe is a fantastic player. He can pay a good tribute to GM anytime.

  • This just shows how GOOD Gary Moore was - Joe Bonamassa is class - yet this tune lacks sole in it's guitar and voice. Nice tribute ....but it proves Gary is irreplaceable

  • Fantastic!

  • R.I.P Gary , the dogs bollocks mate !

  • joe is the man,he has started a whole new trend,..you dont have to look like ,your from hell, you dont have to have long hair, and you dont have to do 32 fret arpegios, not that there is anything wrong with that...lol..i love that style to,but joe is so real, nobody compares imo.

  • great job Joe!classy take on this brother!

  • OooOO this one is going in the favorites list for sure!

  • i dont think they played together !! imagine what a jam sesssion that would have been. love em both.

  • Awesome!

  • Schon jetzt eine Legende. J.B:

  • Legends

    And this is a masterpiece

This sends shivers down my spine

  • Joe Bonamassa,,,the nectar of the blues!!

  • nobody has the guitar power of Gary Moore, his tone was amazing and the power was absolutely incredible, in saw him playing live two times.

it´s hard to belive that we never see him again live.R.I.P Gary Moore.

  • Gary would have been Proud............

  • Excellent!

  • Fabulous playing - what a tribute!!

  • Fabulous cover of a great song. Joe is the man of the moment. So tallented!

  • Christ a phrasing Bonamassa have.

  • Joe Bonamassa - making us all realise how much we miss the great Gary Moore - his memory will live on through this great guitarist

  • @3rdpersonphotos well just goes to show you that even the best guys cant always make it happen..

  • haha, he's such an ugly b*stard too! its so refreshing somehow, i guess i just mean its a nice change from the perfect portraits you see in music today, who dont have but a single hair outta place, bless you joe, for hitting every branch :D

  • 1:23, WHAT A LICK!!!!!!!!

  • JB is a really outstanding soloist.

  • Wow Joe Bonamassa with the legendary Jack Bruce. Epic.

  • I've listened to this a bunch of times. This time it is very poignant. RIP to both our Gary M's on this sad date.

  • Blues played and Blues felt. What could be better. Thank you so much for posting this. Peace.

  • Wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • respect, joe! but sorry, it will be never the same without gary's soul he put into his music ... ;-)

  • Love Joe's more restrained playing, sometimes, though he sounds like a man who would be happier wearing spandex, but then wouldn't we all sometimes?

  • @matdotcodotuk Exactly what kind of buzz did you have when you wrote this? LOL

  • joe has the abilty to sound like anyone at anytime,

  • As a new convert to Bonamassa I just want to say that is a superb piece of singing and guitar work

  • Mr Smith from the Matrix gets everywhere but wow what a guitarist, not a bad voice either.

  • brilliant thanks

    ben

  • Way to go Joe, we know Gary would have loved to go toe to toe with you!

  • yawwza thats one killer tone right there...

  • I didn't recognize Bonamassa at first with the glasses and he's lost weight. As soon as he started singing and playing I knew.

  • This music is not only perfect performed, but sung and interpreted in an honest way, reached my heart immediately. Thanks for this.

  • Joe is damn good, he makes it looks easy, and it AIN'T! A good and fitting tribute Joe. Gary would most definitely approve. At least no one will ever say Joe wasn't appreciated, because he most certainly is! And deservedly so too! Can't wait for your next notes...

  • Wonderful, stuff from all, thanks so much for uploading, still can't believe Gary's no longer around.

  • RIP Garry ............. got to be the most and I mean the most un recocognised ... uderated guitarist ever .... a fitting tribute by joe.......... an natural successor in my opinion played with the respect deserved............... take the torch and follow on Joe

  • @raffles1961 Gary's Still Got The Blues album sold 5 MILLION copies, making it the biggest selling blues record of all time, by miles. The average blues record sells about 3,000 copies. You can hardly say he was unrecognized! Under-appreciated, maybe, but certainly not unrecognized.

  • @chosenfool , 5 million copies? That might be overstating it a bit. I know the record went gold, but that is 1 million copies. I would think Robert Cray's Strong Persuader or one of Stevie Ray's records sold more than Moore's. But I still love Gary Moore, a great talent. R.I.P.

  • Yep, my feelings excactly

  • Thank you, brilliant Blues!

  • great tribute, thanx!

  • this s a great tribute, long live Garys spirit through his music!

  • Thank you Mr Bonamassa, I miss Gary, even I never saw him live, his music touched my heart and my mind in greatest way, maybe touched yours too.

  • to be honest I really cant be bothered with Bonamassa but this is just brilliant!! if i ever change my opinion of him it will be because of this video and i hope i do! Gary would be well chuffed with this, RIP Gary!

  • Oh wow!!!! Joe just let it rip......brilliant.....Gary is smiling in heaven!!!!

  • Awesome

  • first time i saw 'JOE' with feelings, but he can't reach 'GARY' (+'RIP'), LES

  • @lesleypaul59

    Nope, sure can't

  • @lesleypaul59 ..didnt think Joe wanted to reach anything..it was his way off saying thankyou and goodbye..

  • @3rdpersonphotos ..some people are never happy..

  • great job but horrible tune

  • Awesome cover!! RIP

  • Great! RIP GARY MOORE

Can't wait!

  • Hi Pete, I'm back home after my world tour. Watching this reminds what a great show it was. It was good to meet you and my other UK Cousins. Thanks for driving me to my hotel and for not charging!

  • @mintongp ..glad you got home safe bud! ;)

  • @mintongp ...Dear Gary Minton ...may you Rest In Peace too!

  • Bonamassa gained a lot of new fans with this...he's definately got the Blues!

  • Go Joe. Nice tribute. First blues piece I learnt.

  • Beautiful Joe & Bruce. I miss Gary Moore...But his music lives on in our house *S*

  • Joe has the 'Tone of the Gods' on that Lester... awesome...

  • that '59's tone creates sexual responses in my genitals

  • @frazerburns91 ...may i advise the carrying of a spare handkerchief....just in case!?

  • @frazerburns91 Thanks, know i know that this does not only happen to me :)

  • Fantastic !!!!

  • good stuff my man! gazza would be so proud

  • the aircon grills in the Festival Hall ceiling resonated with every note Jack hit on his bass. Extremely annoying! Still was a great gig and nice tribute to Gary Moore.

  • A great tribute to Gary, Joe got everything right in this.

  • My two favourite artists! Joe covering Gary has made my day. I feel the soul deep in my heart, made me shiver! Thanks for the post! Awesome!!

  • BRILLIANT tone! Shame he can't use those Lazy J amp's more often! I officially LOVE him playing these!

  • @ScageyGuitarist ....you Geek Rus'!

  • @ScageyGuitarist -Yeah! Jesse makes great amps. I have a model 20 with an old blue.....it's awesome!

  • @totalcontrast Nice! I'd love one myself.. If I had the money! For a 'non-bulk' amp-builder, his amps are a fair price! Now to save up.. Haha... But seriously, great amps!

  • @ScageyGuitarist - I doubt you will find anything more useable in the size range (1x12) It's perfect for just about every application. Jesse really deserves the exposure. He's worked hard at developing his range and he is easy to work with too. If you have a tone in your head...he'll help you make it happen.

  • Oh man, that was intense! So heartfelt. Superb tone from Joe's guitar. I had goose bumps all through watching that. Thanks Pete, for a great post.

  • Thank you for posting. This is wonderful!!!

  • beautiful...

  • Bonamassa is great for interpreting the great British bluesmen. He steps so easily into the shoes of Clapton, Moore, Green etc. Great tone and great style ...

  • Royal Festival Hall - 04/06/11

  • When and where was this?

  • No one can play this Gary Moore solo better, than Bonamassa. Great tone, Great performer.

  • Thnx for sharing! I really think this is beautifull!

  • Fab Pete. Fitting tribute from Joe.

  • RIP Gary Moore
