  • Probably... I had a ton of while label.. but with the dawn of digital, I aced a lot of it, as I replaced a lot of it with digital copies. some, just got lost in the shuffle. THANKS for the reply

  • Think I passed this one up when I use to by vinyl at Rebel Rebel in NY

  • @session036 You are probably talking about the White Label that has the 'Arena' mix on it. This version was never put out on vinyl. I guess I'm going to have to put up the 'Arena' version as I keep getting requests for it.

  • @session036

This is horrible! I cannot think RLJ would like her musioc presented this way. It really sucks!

  • Rickie Lee Jones has more talent in her little finger than most folks playing with all ten.

  • cool.

  • can someone put up the one that was played in ARENA please.

  • @iketossia

Maybe, but only if your nice :)

  • I don't know who did the original Jonathan or JR but I heard Jonathan Peters play this at the soundfactory and I could tell you I almost died. I searched for three years and stumbled upon the white label by accident at a small record store in NJ. This was cutting edge in the late 90's Don't mock it because you don't understand dance music. I think it's genius. This isn't even the good mix and its still fat as hell. not feelin the funky green dogs sample but at this time it was probably the shit

  • @digitalvamp one more comment why would anyone of you people comment on a dance remix of a song if you don't like dance music? this stuff was designed for one thing and one thing only.... large night clubs with a lot of trannys and a lot of drugs. live it or go listen to your radio on some hick station that actually plays original rickie lee shit i'm sure she's genius but this isn't made for her fans its made for the dance music community.

  • my mom wrote dat down there

  • Rickie Lee,I've been a fan since the 70's.Stores no longer carry all your CDs. why must you subject us to this rehearsed and/or live stuff. I mean u sound good but most people remember the the actual record that was recorded in "their minds''.com'on. We belong Together",Living it up"I know u need to make money but give us your loyal fans for years a break.

  • please :) stop all bad talk peeps please just listen just love her :)

  • i like the 1997 version better

  • How is this a mix? I'm no dance music expert but I know RLJ music very well. All I hear of her is a sample of some of the lyrics. The melody is totally different.

  • I LOVE THIS AND ALWAYS WILL. A GREAT PIECE OF MUSIC HISTORY!

  • I don't mind, it's kind of fun...

  • sorry for you hater but this is a great recor!!! i'm loving i!! and yes i heard junior play this life.... and he worked the hell out of it!!!

  • As much as I like this rework,I still love the original arena anthem, and all the haters can hate all they want.lol

if you can post the original arena remix as well. THANKS

  • No, Rickie did not resing this, its all taken from her record.

i mean rlj in this setting is a good idea, but she does a kind of 'dance' version of this song herself, broken down, thats probably more.. interesting. But cudos to junior for wild abandon, that's ... something! it is kind of tacky, but at least its a creation. hm.

  • What is really funny about everyone complaining about this is that Rickie herself went and redid the vocals and let Junior remix this track. So get mad at the artist!

  • @apollozero

    Thank you, LMFAO

  • @apollozero no she didnt

  • @MrBusterfoot Yes she did, the vocals are re-recorded this was done for a release and the FLIP IT Records label could not get the clearance to put it out. This is not the original vocal from the mastertapes I know for a fact, she did re-do the vocal, I spoke to the guys who were trying to put this out back in the 90's about. Go to discogs dot com and look up the white label which is what this is from.

  • @apollozero I own the white label

  • @apollozero I read something a long time ago about how the vocals originate from the soundboard recording from her Naked Songs live album session around the time of when the Arena era mix would have been done. I always preferred the Arena mixes. This one was made with Fumi for a classics party in 2005. There was another revisit in 2007 for the Red Party. A short live clip of it is available on YouTube still.

  • @ExstacyQueen Thanks for the info.. I heard from FLIP IT about the release, and I stand corrected if i misunderstood. I know they said they were trying their best to release it because I red about it in a DJ magazine back in the day and contacted them to get a copy.

  • @ExstacyQueen BTW I have a a copy of the Arena remix from another DJ back in they day. I want the flipside mix and have been looking for it.

  • @apollozero There are some additional Arena era mixes too. There's an Alternate Mix and Alternate Dub which have some slight differences. Production-wise they are the same as the main one, but there are little tweaks to the the intro, the buildups, additional vocal samples and loops, different endings. Fun stuff.

  • @ExstacyQueen I would love to hear all the mixes maybe one day someone will rip them for the masses. Thanks for all your information. Tribal Madness said he has the flipside "Living It Up (Jerome's Alternative House Mix)" and was going to upload it when he had a chance but it's hasnt happened yet. I would love an MP3 of it. He said it was very bland and boring btw, I still am interested.

  • @apollozero Just uploaded it... enjoy

  • @apollozero It still sound like crap right from the word go .way before she sings

poor Rickie i bet she is thinking wtf

  • Ah, "Junior," you didn't dissapoint me; you confirmed the my diagnosis. You need to be responsible for yourself; I'm not 'showing' a "remix" anything. I'm telling "Junior" I didn't care for his product. And to assume and allege "hate" is really bad karma, dude. You have skills, as I told you. You need to focus on the positive and learn from the negative opinions of others, rather than discount them as not credible. Why do you think you have so few positive comments?

  • @meriksx3

I simply posted the track because it is obscure and silly. I find it amusing that people get upset over it, thats all man.

  • So, okay, dude, like you gots the skills to "edit" a song into something else. Doesn't mean you should do it! Bad taste. And to enjoy the negativity is just immature. and shows your "defensiveness and insecurity,." the Psych Doctor.who likes RLJ's music.

    //

The idea is interesting, but the intro is too long and you should have respected the spirit of the song. You're using a nice song as an excuse to make something else ... Why not, but here is not "Living It Up"

  • shit mixes.

  • che schifo,what a shit MA VAFFANCULO,và!

  • I love how many negative comments this video is getting, LMFAO.

  • so crap you have say it three times. Its a great song when it's not mucked about by this idiot.

  • its crap

  • itscrap

  • This is a pretty terrible mix. Yeesh. You'd probably have to be drunk to enjoy it.

  • wowowowo!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am ignoring the negative comments about this track.

Tribal Madness thank you for being original for posting this. Rickie lee Jones I am sure would appreciate this remix. xxx Ignore the boring masses!!!! Woo Woo

  • @surferboy5252 Yeah, I'm sure she would love a bunch of drunk fools "dancing" in a club to her song, the lyrics twisted beyond recognition. That seems to be her style. After all, she's only one of the most incredible lyricists we've had in a while. He/she could have simply posted the original version (which is amazing), but no.....

  • get lost

  • Please leave Rickie Lee Jones alone!!!!! Don't ruin a perfectly good song with this crappy beat & horrenous mix. Stick to messing up Lady Gaga, Britney Spears & other crappy music. Nothing of quality was added to the song.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm utterly confused about this horrible mess of a remix.

  • this is dreadful

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! Been waiting for this for sooo long.
