  • Amazing. And the sax player does kind of look like Phil Shulman.

  • i have been a diehard GG fan since 1971 and this video is such a gift. i can't tell you how much i enjoy this. it is just perfect. absolutely amazing !!!!

  • How dare you!?!?!

And how dare you do such a good job at it?!?!

    That's really cool, dude!

The chikens, you've got to love those xylo-chickens, man!

  • Absolutely brilliant!!!

  • Gentel Giant was one of the more underated prog bands but I respectfully disagree with Pink Floyd wanabe's.The two bands where very differant.Pink Floyd was a psycadelic band whilr GG was a full blown prog band. Both where great though.

  • Killer - like some strange acid-fuelled never-before-seen episode of The Muppets!! This is quite possibly my favorite GG song.

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Awesome!

  • Pink Floyd can't touch Giant's best (and vice versa). This is a beautiful Giant tune, but not their best. Ask anyone and the definition of Giant's best changes. But PF could never have played the entire "The Power and the Glory" album. Try listening to "Cogs and Cogs": sheer, beautiful, musical madness.

  • @burgmail agreed, cogs in cogs is sublime. There's a good bass player who covers it on youtube if you search it. Nails it. Sick bass lines. Ridiculously inventive.

  • you're great !

  • Love it! It is touching! Cute, but profound.

  • Pink Floyd wannabes..

  • @Hodongji troll

  • @Hodongji Pink Floyd wannabes? You can't be serious. Surely you jest.

  • Great!!! I thought it was a real Muppets video untill I read the comments. You did awesome

  • OK.. so I'm a little slow at moments..

I actually thought Jim Hanson and Frank Oz had paid tribute to one of their musical heroes...

    very well done

  • no way....

  • That section with the chickens cracked me up!

  • very silly but funny LOL and well done

  • This made my day...nicely done!

  • 2:24, the bass drum cover look pretty similar to the cover of the 'Acquiring the Taste' album. Is just the same (ignoring the fuckn peach or whatever it is that ass-form shit).

  • BIG SMILE!!!SUPERB!!!BRAVO!!! ANIMAL CAN FLAT OUT PLAY!!!

  • I love the chickens picking out the marimba sound on the piano

  • I would have never thought of such a juxtiposition ! weird ! Me Likes !

  • So Surreal! Great job!

  • This is actually fantastic. Disturbing, but fantastic.

  • Excellent job!

  • The footage cutting between Animal and those demented chickens had me howling with laughter. Pure genius. Well done. It might be a way of getting kids into some seriously good music too!

  • jaajajajajjajjaa the chickens playing the piano are the funniest thing ive seen in my week =) .

  • Great job of a great song by a great band...

  • This is great :D it gave me a big smile :)!

  • @2;10 reminds me of john martyn rather be the devil

  • FAKE! This is just playback. We clearly see John Weathers, but he never played on the album. ;-)

    Great, great little vid. Thanks!

  • i can't believe!!! wonderful!!! this is a special GG song

  • This rules.

  • love the timpani marimba section with Animal and the Chickens! brilliant!

  • clicked 4 stars by accident, because I was so amused while watching it the 2nd time, but meant 5 ofc.

Great video, hilarious, but a bit disturbing at times. ^^

  • This really is great.

  • Bravo! J'adore!

  • Excellent !!! MORE !! (please ?)

  • Hilarious, well-crafted -- outstanding work.

  • Wonderful, and far better visually than the Giant's actual promos.

  • Brilliantly hysterical. Thanks so much. Great match-ups.The editing is fantastic!

  • The world just got a teeny bit better man. Thanks for doing this!

  • Could you please do another!!!!???

  • I think I am a six year old tripping on acid

  • The muppets singing Gentle Giant...

    Wow...

The world just got a lot stranger.

  • hi, man! it's just perfect; really nice job!

  • Question, though... Where _did_ you get that footage of Animal, Beaker and the Sweeeedish Chef pretending to be Irish? Sights of Animal yelling the word "whisper", as well as Beaker looking, well, erudite while the third "whisper" is said... Hilarious! Come to think of it, the saxophone player _does_ remind me of Phil Shulman of GG. And what song was Floyd originally singing on the rooftop at night?

  • These St. Patrick versions of Animal, Beaker and Sweedish Chief came from a sketch featuring them singing O Danny Boy, and Floyd was originally singing a great rendition of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Both of them (in fact, all the videos used) are on Youtube.

  • @burgmail sliced...

  • LOL! I love Gentle Giant, I love the Muppets... and now, I know what it's like to be on acid ffrom watching this video!!! ROTFL... Seriously, though, excellent and meticulous work!

  • Excellent! :-)

  • this is great. Very fun and funny.

    Chickens!

  • eerily beautiful

  • i expected this to be horrible, but then it was amazing

    well done

  • I dig it!

  • Oh my god! Fantastic! Spendid. Great. Concratulations!

  • Thank you!

  • Read the book "Gargantua and Pantagruel" by Francois Rabelais released between 1532 and 1552 (Pt. 1 to 4) The lyrics are like Gentle Giant´s tunes...

  • Um, Tarabos, that's because Phil Shulman of Gentle Giant actually _did_ read that book (being a former/future school teacher). Those ideas were taken from Rabelais himself!

  • muy bueno!!!!!

  • Gentle Giant on the Muppets!!! I love it.

  • Wonderful, i love it, i laughed out loud here on my own! If you really want a suggestion; it would be nice to have the mouths moving faster at the "underthesilenceof " bits (0.18, 3.34)

Really genius, and a very original pick, this song, Thanks!

  • Meow

  • I love how 2:25 shows the cover of 'Acquiring the Taste' on the drum kit - what a coincidence! :-)

  • I didn't noticed that! Hahah!

  • It's not the AtT cover.

  • Ok, ok Mr.Picky. But it certainly contains strong associations with the original album image.

  • But it still isn't it.

  • Why the repetition of your original statement in light of my revised assertion?

  • F***k me.

  • I can't believe you'd never put something like this together before. Fantastic job!! You really caught everything -- even those single little guitar plucks. I love it! Please do more.

  • OMG!!

    You just used pre-existing clips

    & edited & synced it?

    Awesome work.

  • Thanks!

  • An amazing band combined with the Muppets? Win.

  • Hillarious!

    Very well done !

  • nice, thanks for sharing silvia

  • Bravo !!!

  • I LIKE IT!!! But where did you get this video?

  • I made this using various Muppets clips that are here on YouTube. I'm glad you liked! =)

  • Awesome!! Excellent work!!!

  • i absolutely love it, it's perfect, especially when Animal is doing the back ups!

  • This is wonderful.

  • Oh wow! GG and the Muppets? This is so completely twisted.

  • Thank you all so much for the nice comments!

  • Very well done!

  • The drummer truly has the john weathers style!

  • superb!

  • This is something else... great job!!

  • ROTFLOL! that's great!!

  • nice job !! Great Editting

  • Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Love the chickens!

  • Absolutely brilliant. Let's have some more Muppets interpretations of GG.

  • Leoneb: Wonderful touch you've added to this. Much appreciated by this GG diehard.

  • Thank you!

  • Gary Green's wife Judy sent this to me. Cool. That band didn't get the respect due

    paul adams

  • The best prog rock band fitting in one of THE best TV shows - I would never have thought that this combination of superb cultural artifacts would go so well together. Those who combine music and show are the creative giants of performing arts. Think of Verdi, re-using the play Otello for his opera. You are a visionary! You are the Verdi of the late 20-th century. Or am I exaggerating?

  • Oh yeah, you ARE exaggerating! Comparing anyone to the grand Giuseppe would be!

But thank you VERY MUCH for your words!

  • this, my friend, is brilliantly funny, soo great. to bad only 10 people in the world will actually get it, but for us few -- it's possibly "the most dangerous joke in the world," viewed at one's utter peril...

  • Thank you, member of this secret society of ten people!

  • A few more than 10, you would be very surprised how many of us are out there, just try wearing a GG Tee shirt shopping on a Saturday, guaranteed to provoke many a comment from complete strangers.

Love the chickens on the piano :-)

  • well done! thanks!

  • Thank you!
