Rubin's comments are as correct today as they were back then. The Communist Party USA is little more than a caucus of the Democratic Party. They've been failing to prevent the rightward shift of the two party system with this strategy for half a century. There will always be some movement which is natural for competition but the way the markets run today is anything but natural. We do not have free market capitalism in the US. Face the facts, Communism doesn't work. I think you're correct when you say that I judge by the actions of people/countries and not their ideals. Actions speak louder than words and in the real world it is things that happen that are important. Communism can "claim and wish" for good things all day long. It never really provides it.
