  • can this run minecraft?!?!? haha trolololol

  • this guy talks to fast....

  • i want a 5770 but will my 350 watt PSU be good enough

  • @Moulie415 No, you might want to upgrade to a 550W ;)

  • @Moulie415 Simply put, No.

  • 22 cm great!!

  • Thanks! Answered my question perfectly!

  • Hey Rodney, what will you be doing with that 5770? I know you are rocking a 5970, sell it to me for cheap so i can get my crossfire setup going! I know, wishfull thinking..got a HIS 5770, and i love it..just want a second for crossfire.

  • 5850 fit in CM STORM SCOUT ?

  • the 5870 would fit in my case.... actually they could make the thing longer and it'd still fit in my mid size raidmax smilidon case.... I have the zotac 9800 gtx and that's 13 inches

  • I was wondering if I could install a Nvidia card into a board that uses an AMD CPU and built in ATI graphics HD 4200. Basically I want to use a GeForce 9800 GT from BFG with the ASUS M4A785-M and need to know if I would run into any problems any help would be much appreciated

  • @1800Supreme No the computer will bash you on the head for being a traitor and going down the Nvidia route :D JK yeah should run no problems :)

  • @jimijable thanks for responding I already got the build done about 5 days ago i used a gt 240 worked like a charm 4 Gb ram amd 2.9 2x core 1.75 TB 600wt power

  • @1800Supreme

You can install it and itll run without issue.

  • @1800Supreme Yeah you can.

  • from 0:03 to 0:05 he talked so fast lol

  • This card will only just fit in my small mid tower case lol xD. There is NO clearance between the cards end and the HDD drive :'D

  • His!!

  • HIS or Shapphire?

  • whihc card is better for gaming overall. Is it the Ati 5870 or the Nvidia gtx295.

  • @phi7123 5870 imo dx 11 and i pretty sre its cheaper too

  • It looks so GODDAMN awesome, I want one now!

  • i was going to buy one of these cards to replace my 4890, thinking it was going to be better,..not the case ,the 4890 is a beast compared to this card. for lower end gamers its the perfect fit id say, very cheap for its decent performance.. in the end i just eneded up buying another 90 =] plays games like a champ =]

  • i was thinking of getting this over 4890, but u say the 4890 is alot better than this?

  • yeah the 4890 is alot better, only downside is the 90 is old enough that it wont support dx11, on the other hand im certain with driver updates and such the 5770 may surpass the 90 but i dint think its likely as the 70 is limited by 128bit

  • @inextrikable i don't really care for dx 11.... so i guess ima get the 4890. thanks alot

  • ...why were you trying to buy a new card when the card you had before was still relatively new and still played all new games?

  • @RottingCore

If You Have A Old Video Crd, Then Dont Works Downloadable Games Like 1GB+

  • @oktay189 I hope your primary language isn't English, because that shit made no sense.

  • and for 150$ its worth it anyway.

  • Are you freakin kidding me? This card will pretty much tear through these games. I think you are high or something.

  • This video card fails, and it fails because when playing cod 4 and many other game it freezes it gives the error that drivers stopped risponding, but i no longer get it since i downclocked it and speeded up the fan so now i dont get the error anymore but its still an issue with others that dont know this, the card is good but ati got careless and there is no way to resolves this not even the company is giving a crap about it. its why i say what i say ^^

  • @popole65 What drivers are you using, because it works fine for me.

  • @popole65 are you only one that get the problem? what is your psu? that maybe is the problem, or some mobo problem

  • The only way that that will happen is if, the card is faulty, you overclock the card in a system that runs hot or try to run one on an inadequate power supply.

  • YEAH RIGHT hahah, a ati 5770 not good for playing call of duty? my friend plays all the call of dutys max reso and settings and fps reach as high as 200 with this card and over 70 for fear max everything

  • Is it future proof?

  • for now yea, its dx11 capable

  • @phoenix1333 for now yes, but for lnger time go for 5870 or wait for gtx300

  • @phoenix1333 It has all the newest technologies available. So, absolutely. But: You need Windows 7 to use DirectX 11, with Vista, you will get DirectX 10, and with XP, you will get DirectX 9. Also applies for the shader models.

  • @FRURMELLL You're wrong. DX11 runs on both 7 and Vista.

  • @scatmanwfm

    No Your Wrong.

Vista only has DX10. Same with XP.

  • @BKsMassive Actually I'm not. From wiki "11 runs on Windows Vista and Windows 7. It will run on future Windows operating systems as well."

I'm also running it on my Vista home basic. Once again another person spreading bullshit about Vista. Because of what they hear from others. Might want to research something before you state it as an absolute and look like a fucking idiot.

  • @scatmanwfm

    Vista Can SMD!

    it CANT run it!

it defies the the 4 law of Physics!

  • @BKsMassive ....

  • @scatmanwfm

    Yep.................

  • @BKsMassive Exactly.. you're a dumbass.

  • @BKsMassive ..ever hurd of google just search vista directx 11 =.= if you have sp2 microsoft atauly sends it you through windows update

So...frist be a good little boy and reverse before you bullshit :)

  • @mutichannel

    Damn....

    Sorry dude :P

i upgraded from vista before SP2 came out xD

  • I get my x2 XFX 5770 XXX cards in about 8 hours. Just bought the thermaltake armour+ mx... looks like ill have to buy a full tower if i wanted to get any of the 5800 series

  • I just ordered the xxx edition xfx one. Cant wait to try it out. Playing World of Warcraft and Dalaran can be a bitch when it comes to fps. This however should solve the problem :D

  • i have this card luv it

  • how hot is normal temperter? is 65c fine??

  • yes, thats fine, you can use rivaTuner to increase your fan speed if you want to run cooller

  • hi i 've got a Motherboard M2N32-SLI deluxe, i m thinking to set up ATI HD 5770 with 3 monitor , But my CPU is AMD Atlhon x2, and i will exchange to 4 giga memory 800mhz, Do you think it is gonna be fine after that? can you help me?

  • I always like having the chipset to match the graphics card (crossfire chip set and ait, nvidia/sli chipset and nvidia)

it depends on what game you play tbh, at 1680x1050, a 250GTS will run at max on COD6 with a AMD fx55 and 2GB of ram

  • @1337ASM i know what you mean by that , chip set ATI got match with mother board, and Nvidia SLI, but i dont want buy 2 GPU Nvidia to get 3 monitors, that´s what i asked you M2N32-SLI will work with GPU Radeon HD 5770 or not? im trying to do this upgrade not only for game but to work as well.

  • thanks for the reply :]

  • with this card and the i7 860 and 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM whould i be able to play any game on the market?

  • Yes. Easily.

  • 8GBs of RAM is super overkill. Most who have that are just showing off what they can spend on a comp. If you're about efficiency & gaming performance you only need 3-4GBs. I never even use 60% of 4GBs.

  • I did a benchmark of win7 (64bit), 2,4,8 GB of ram, and there is no performance difference in COD6, L4D2, C&C3 (1680x1050)

  • yep. my point exactly no need to over spend on RAM you'll never use.

  • @DragonAge1103

oops i ment to up a thumbs up, but i did a -1 sorry :/

p.s low end gfx cards are so.. sexah

  • @1337ASM There should be but it's invisible because the eye can't notice FPS differences that are over 60.

  • Comment removed

  • hi, how is this card together with the i5 750?

  • I imagin very good. as long as its over 1 core should be fine.

  • i got that card...i want to overclock it...how can do ?

  • @dely888 You can do it via your Catalyst control center that comes with the driver download.

  • im still have to move the hdd around because their in the way

  • Then you're a thief and should be ashamed.

  • i cant find the HIS ATi 5770 that has that cooler (the one he has)

    only the ugly egg cooler

  • Couldn't find it either.. settled on the XFX brand. They're all the same anyway, they're all reference boards. Except the Vapor-X, which is overclocked MILDLY. I stress MILDLY.

  • thats the official radon one which he only got because they probably sponsor him. But you can get one that looks almost identical from asus and it has a higher memory clock speed

  • So is 5770 the same size as my old 8800GT? I have a media center case and size is a big issue. Will there be much of a performance differnace if I upgraded to it?

  • the performance of a card is not rated by its length.

  • there'll be a huge increase in performance as long as you don't have a cpu that's bottlenecking it. The 5770 with its newly released drivers can outperform the gtx 275 and the ati 4890

  • That's not true a overclocked 5770 will come close to a stock 4890 but not outperform.

  • it could perform the same if the bandwidht was the same but on a 1280 x 1024 it doesnt really matter

  • massive

  • 22cm by? I've got a slim desktop case that has a radeon 2400 xt. Been meaning to get this but not so sure if it fits

  • will the 5850 fit in the case xblade silver PLEASE ANSWER

  • measure it yourself, i's 9,5"/24,5cm long

  • I wonder how the 5770 compares to the GTX 260...

  • i heard that the hd 5770 is compared to the hd 4870 and the gtx 260. Can beat both of them with a slight overclock. Very highly clocked, it can reach scores of the 4890.

  • its about even in some tests the gtx260 wins and in some the 5850 wins. go to google and type gpureview its a brilliant website for graphics cards info.

  • wrong

its gtx280 that is compared to 5850 ==

  • Specwise, it's

    216 vs 800 Stream Processing (5770 wins)

575 vs 850 Core Clock (5770 wins again)

    1998 vs 1200 Memory Clock (260 wins)

    DDR3 vs DDR5 (5770 wins)

    448-bit vs 128-bit (260 wins)

    DX 10.1 vs DX 11 (5770 Wins)

In the end, by specs, the 260 can handle more, but the 5770 can be read quicker than the 260. GTX 260 is better, but it's for $30~$40 more. For the budget, I'd go with the 5770, because in the long run, it's better.

Btw, I'm comparing the XFX 5770 to the EVGA GTX 260 Core 216.

  • Wow, that was specific. Thanks a ton.

  • 216 vs 800 Stream Processing (5770 wins)

575 vs 850 Core Clock (5770 wins again)

    4800 vs 1200 Memory Clock (5770 wins)

    DDR3 vs DDR5 (5770 wins)

    448-bit vs 128-bit (260 wins)

    DX 10.1 vs DX 11 (5770 Wins)

edit the hd5770 has 4800 mhz on memory because it has 8 chips of 600 mhz

but still the gtx260 is a better bet if u dont need a hd5770 the gtx260 is slighlty faster i mean really slighlty

  • edit: if u dont need dx11 get gtx260 damn

  • WTF, a 5770 is equal to a GTX260.

And the fact of the matter is, everyone does and doesn't need DX11 at the same time, but as later games come out, you'll want DX11, plus a 5770 is like 1.5-1.6 times cheaper than a GTX260.

  • and also, the way you compared the specs is terrible.

You don't just go - one has got 192 or 216 vs 800 Stream Processors.

Everything is based on benchmarks, how do you think the NV cards sometimes do better, or vice-versa.

It's how the card works aswell as what it has. ;P

Sorry if I come across a bit rude, I try not to. :)

  • It also uses about 50 watts less at peak load than the GTX 260. It uses about 13 fewer at idle. It does a good job keeping pace with the 260.

Mex- Don't worry about the CPU bottlenecking anything, so long as you have a decent one. A popular tech site showed no difference in frame rates from a 2.66ghz i5 to somewhere around 3.8ghz. And no way will it outperform a 4890.. it's on par with the 4870.

  • the ram is technically the same DDR3 448 bit = DDR5 128bit

  • maaan you can't compare like this

of course the 5770 have mor stream processors and higher gpu clock but you forgotten that this are to different cards.. a nvidia card got the SHADER CLOCK ;) which is most 2 1/2 ways higher than the gpu clock, this let's the card processing shaders extremly fast, ati cards don't have this so they have to compensate with higher clocks an more stream processors ;)

  • and uh the gtx 260 got 216 streams @ 1300 - 1400 mhz

    hd5770 800 @ 850 mhz

    1400 : 850 = 1.64 higher stream clocks

    800 : 216 = 3.70 more streame proccesors

  • 11" for the 5870? Do you think they're compensating for something? :D, 5/5

  • @PCMichiana shaq's ****

  • i'd go with these over the 5800 series just because they are about half the price run dx11 and are just like the 4870 which won't be needing a real drastic upgrade in the next iunno year or two

  • Please Rodney, don't answer questions that people can just Google and find out themselves VERY easily from manufacturer's websites.

  • Dude, some one wanted to know and he gave the info. Some times people cant find the info on google. it took me a long time to get info on computer parts.

  • I agree 100% with GMillss

  • I would just get a 5850.

  • surprisingly they used the hardshell, anything lesser will most likely be exposed

  • i like theses videos My Question is how much of a Performance increase will i get from a 4850 to 5850? % wise because i dont want to upgrade my Graphics card just for Eyefinity and dx11 its not worth it right now

  • simple its like going from a 9800gtx+ to a 285...a significant jump

  • hmmm........ but what elts is important about it i mean i like playing games at 60fps but will it support 1920x1200 at alot of games iv read reviews but idk if its worth the money right now

  • dude it will rip through them...what games u play?

  • Call of duty 4 and next month cod MW2 Red Factin Guerrilla street fighter 4 and a few others but i dont have them installed right now because im thinking about switching to 64bit

  • you will see quiet a bit of a jump. Since the 5850 is about the same as a very well overclocked 4890.

  • Oh so i should get the 5850 because it supports dx11 is as Good or Much better then a 4890 Superclocked Cools well and Supports all the funt hings i need to have a awesome setup .. Do you think it will pair well with a E8400 at 3.7? my 4850 Runs Great with No lag because it can BREATH but if the 5850 lags because of my cpu Im NOT willing to Upgrade my cpu ... maybe the mobo but not the cpu im trying to spend almost to nothing through out the year on my pc because its awesome

  • um dark craft is a dumb fuck lolz 5850 is way better then the 4890 since it has like 1440 sp vs 800 sp. i think ur e8400 will be fine. anyways ya it should play all of those games wonderfully on that rez.

  • Hes not a dumb fuck Hes like me and thinks he knows shit but doesnt want to Admit to it but i have the balls to go out and ask Q ^_^ i knew the 4890 was no fucking math for the 5850 shesh that card can keep up with the gtx285 and almost as fast as the 295 lol but thats also a thing to account its 1 GPU not 2 on one Board :D iv been searching for video reviews and Read just over 60 Reviews on this card but is still hesitant because of the Display port ... Display port is SO useless

  • not math (but Match

  • actually if you want to use eyefinity u need a display port monitor. so its usefull

  • Why are they coming out with more connections ... Just to make more money to complain there crap is better.. Display more is a fail its just like HDMI but with the ability to do Dual mode.. it doesnt matter it IS and will always be Useless unless graphics cards Use every single Video Port as a DVI HDMI or Display port this is in my Opinion i personally thing HDMI and Dvi are the best and cant be beaten adding at Display port is like i said Just for the Cash and business

  • display port has a higher rez then hdmi

  • thats like the ONLY defect in hdmi lol that and Protection thingy like you have to have HDCP i think... but seriously DVI is a monster :D and who needs a Res Higher then 1920x1200 its a Perfect size anybody with a monitor bigger then that just has Way to much money to spend on there( i was gunna say something mean but then again i have 2 22inch monitors and is working for a 24inch monitor to make 3 way set up XD...

  • DVI goes up to 2560x1600. :|

  • Soo..... no one in the WORLD needs higher then that and if you do get a Projector Stick it on your wall and make your Icons Even smaller then smaller and cry less about having little screen area :D shesh out of my opinion People just waste money for no reason

  • it should pair well enough though rather then a motherboard I would make sure you have the best cooler you can get for your CPU and try to get some more out of it, most E8400 will hit 4 GHz o a good mobo and cooling.

  • i just upgraded my cooling and my cpu wont pass even on stress testing for 1.5 days straight 46c which is like amazing :D i must have done something right with my Zalman cooler i have unboxing video but ill soon upload the rest of it as i put it in my computer... my mobo wont let me pass 3.8 so i left it at 3.75 thats why i said Mobo not cpu and i know the graphics card is awesome but Idk if my cpu will bottle neck it T_T

  • you will bottle neck it a bit but not bad enough that you still won't see a performance boost good enough to be worth it.

and later on (whenever your ready) you can upgrade the CPU and then still be able to overclock the card more.

  • or get teh gpu....save up you money for a cheap i5 should be like around 3~400 bucks n ull be set lolz or go for a phenom II build

but it shouldnt bottle neck it much.

  • Fuck Quad cores man the support with games is Less then 15% i will wait to i know for a fact that my stuff will run better and im not ever gunna spend 400$ on a Computer part like a Cpu.. graphics card limit i will go is 250$ because anything more is Just To ridiculous and Ignorant Who needs that kind of power that soon ... But Yes I need to Upgrade my Graphics card And i think everything elts should be fine for at least the next year

  • yeah but the work is spead by windows over all the cores so, you get your moneys worth.

  • Should I get a

    i7 920 with a 5770

    OR

    i5 750 with a 5850?

Thanks for the feedback all i do play games.

  • 920

  • I7 860 Asus P55D His HD 5850

  • Great that you have the time to do Q&A videos!

But 95% of the Q&A videos are so simple questions they can be answered by a simple search.

Even tried using Google for many of the questions, either to find out more, or just see how easy finding the answer is, and the answer is ALWAYS within the top 4 links..

For example in this Q&A Google: HD 5770 length. You don't even have to click a link to see the answer.

  • Yeah but some people are too stupid to use Google, don't know how, or forget that they can, so these are actually helpful in a way.

  • And you flame people for thinking your lame Apple mice have one button, and freak out about how stupid they are. Apple fanboy.

Funny, I found you here too. Small world I guess.

  • You are 100% right, he always makes videos about simple stuff, but have you ever tried asking something by email? he(?) actually helps you with more complicated stuff...

  • its funny how everyone was telling me how my Mid Size Raidmax Sucks and now that i measured i can even fit a 12 inch in it

  • HD5770 should fit any mid t case

  • Should I get the ATI Radeon 5750?

  • Instead of making 5 videos on each card you should do a more thorough review on them and then if someone sends you a question explained in a video, just reply saying " Look at this video: "

  • He usually does just reply with a link to one of his videos.

  • personal experience?

  • yeah I've asked a few questions where he replied with a link to one of his videos.

but if he doesn't already have a video over the subject he answers the question normally.

  • I agree with you, i think Rodney better combine their video into single one if that review only for single product.

(Review, benchmark, size of product, power needs, and price)

  • so very true. (+1)

  • u will see the same frame rate in games not worth it

  • Its about on par game performance wise

everything else like power consumption and heat output its allot better.

  • lol my 4870 is longer xD

  • 5770 myt get it for my girlfrends xmas box

  • yeahhhh.. no

just get her a necklace you nerd

  • wish that was that easy but she not in to jewelry lol she is same as me full on tecnoligy nerd hehe in her system there is Q6600 overclocked to 3.6Ghz 4Gb ram 2 x 3870s playing left 4 dead with ya woman is fun

  • Stares at vintage HP case with 8800gtx in it.
