i went through the hell in my life. i was a soldier in a terrible, long war and just when i thought that i survived, i got cancer. i'm fine now. but even in my worst times the old leonard was the one who was always there for me. in his music he always knew how to create some magic spaces for my small retreats. he truly is my master, saviour and saint. i saw him in hannover. when i saw him on the stage i was so deeply moved... i even didn't try to hide my tears. sorry for bothering you;)

@Petiber I have heard the Rufus Wainwright version compared to this - it doesn't. it can't get close - the grief and longing in Cohen's voice - the very performance is spellbinding, the lyrics heart wrenching. this is true brilliance, entangled with raw, unbridled emotion - not beautiful, but haunting, hypnotic and completely immortal.
