Witchcraft is not the same thing as Wicca. Witchcraft goes back to prehistoric times. Wicca was created in the 1950's from the writings of Gerald Gardner. It has nothing whatsoever to with ancient pagan religions. Romanticism and Jungian psychology alone have fused the various gods and goddesses from vastly different cultures and pantheons together, but this is an artificial merging.
This is an awesome video :) There is one thing in particular that I disagree with however...the part about getting the candle color and moon cycle and everything to line up for a spell to work. I've done quite a few spells and they generally work no matter when I do them. And as far as candle colors I do believe that's important, however white candles in my experience can generally be used for anything. :)
I'm sorry, hate to burst your bubble but the esbats and sabbats are two completely different things. An esbat is the celebration of the full moon and feminine (goddess) power. As far as sabbats you have the four greater sabbats and the four lesser sabbats.

@charonsdomain However, I still believe Wicca has many aspects that are very healthy both in practice and the rituals. A love and appreciation for Nature is a very good thing unless (like anything else) it is taken too far. Your practice of Wicca does not require you to force your beliefs on anyone else; that makez Wicca far superior to any monotheistic relgion.

The only testable results come from self-effecting rituals; it has never been shown that external events or persons can be affected in any way. I'm researching Wicca, I don't practice, but I find it a very intriguing faith, mostly because it doesn't judge or condemn others like Christianity does. I was raised Christian and have been turned off by it's hypocritical and judgmental followers. It's amazing the amount of hate I've seen espoused by supposedly loving Christians.

Very good. I think most times that when people start to branch off of the core elements of wicca it becomes confusing to non-practicioners. Some questions are to be answered by personnal experience. Truth has to be revealed in this way because the mind cannot learn it without the wisdom gained from such experiences.

Seems like this religion is regional only because the seasons seemingly defining the time of the holidays, according to the speaker, apply only to the Northern Hemisphere. We don't have proof about what we say, it's simply a way of life that I frankly enjoy. I believe in spirits and other planes of existence that neither us or science can prove or disprove, it's simply a theory based off faith, a theory that I find intriguing. @newcoyote People find harmony in many different things, I find it in believing there is a world beyond this one. I'm a sucker for the supernatural, and to that I'm a victim. However, while I am open minded enough to combine the logical ideas of science with the perhaps supernatural ideas of faith and a life after death, I don't let either extreme take over the other. Truthfully though, I wouldn't want to be completely sure, that just sort of ruins the fun of running into the unknown.
magic, does not mean that everyone who does it is evil. And not every religion that practices magic is the same. BTW a lot of the ritual parts of Wicca are insanely similar to what happens in a catholic mass. Similarities are there but it's a different animal. See what I mean? Witchcraft is not the same thing as Wicca. Witchcraft goes back to prehistoric times. Wicca was created in the 1950's from the writings of Gerald Gardner. It has nothing whatsoever to with ancient pagan religions. Romanticism and Jungian psychology alone have fused the various gods and goddesses from vastly different cultures and pantheons together, but this is an artificial merging.

This is an awesome video :) There is one thing in particular that I disagree with however...the part about getting the candle color and moon cycle and everything to line up for a spell to work. I've done quite a few spells and they generally work no matter when I do them. And as far as candle colors I do believe that's important, however white candles in my experience can generally be used for anything. :)

The only testable results come from self-effecting rituals; it has never been shown that external events or persons can be affected in any way. An external spell would be "action at a distance" and this phenomenon has only been observed at the quantum level (google quantum entaglement).

I'm researching Wicca, I don't practice, but I find it a very intriguing faith, mostly because it doesn't judge or condemn others like Christianity does. I was raised Christian and have been turned off by it's hypocritical and judgmental followers. It's amazing the amount of hate I've seen espoused by supposedly loving Christians.

Seems like this religion is regional only because the seasons seemingly defining the time of the holidays, according to the speaker, apply only to the Northern Hemisphere.
