I keep getting a crackling in my ipod shuffle 2g...tried a restore to factory settings, a q-tip with a little rubbing alchohol in the input for the headphones. The minute you plufg it in you just here static/popping.  It's not the ear puds because I tried in the stereo ...any ideas??

@AffordableiPodRepair well one of my friends gave me an ipod shuffle without charge and i tryed to charge it witth my ipod shuffle 3rd generation charger but the light of the shuffle 2nd gen wont turn on or green or red it douesnt do anything even when i go to itunes it wont detect my shuffle 2nd gen!!!! so i was wondering if it still works or how can i know it it still works??!! plz respond i would appreaciate it

Hi,.. I just bouught a used 2nd gen ipod and its battery is dead. I have a 1st gen spare batt,.. do they both use the same one? I'm afraid I could destroy the ipod exploring its guts. Thanks JM

I have a ipod shuffle 2nd gen. (just like the one in the video). my dog chewed up the cord on the charger, i fixed it by placing all of the cords in the right spot, I know it works by sticking my tongue on the metal peace on the charger the sticks into the ipod. (i know when i do that by the shock it gives you on the tongue). I turn my ipod 'off' and sticking it on the charger, but the little green light dosnt turn on. i know its the ipod and not the charger. do you know what can be wrong?

i got one like that, it shows the orange light [which mean is charging right?] but the problem is that when i disconnect it and turn on, it doesnt show any light and it doesnt play the music, its soo weird, what can i do??

@123savesome4me The chargers may not be compatible. I'm not sure exactly which models you are referring to as there are 2nd gen models of many iPod models. Like the 2nd gen touch, or 2nd gen nano.
