  • great pics. Ely is a wonderful place to visit. but i do warn you all, only visit. i lived here for 5 years... you have never seen someone move as fast as i did when i found a way out

  • I went up to ely In july of 2008 and I saw a vary large wolf well driving at nite. It was the largest wolf I have ever seen anywhere. Im guessing 300-350 lbs. Huge! I ran along side my car for about 30 ft and then turned tword me an its nose came about ten inches from my front right headlight It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It had the most beutiful wite furr. massive long legs and huge sholders. Its teeth were like 18 in long. I was like 5ft tall at the sholders. Awsome!

  • fantastic video!! I was up in Ely studying black bears last year and took the time to go

and see the IWC...very impressive. I fell in love with the whole area, although I dont think I would make it through winter, it was

-7 with a wind chill of -30 a hour ago and its

only december. Ive lived in Florida for the past 21 years. anyways beautiful video Leslie

and Lisa, brings back great memories

  • has anyone heard of bear creek in racine mn.?

  • Awesome video of Ely! Great work. Our family visited Ely this past July (2008). We loved it! We loved how friendly people were and how amazing the International Wolf Center is and the educational program they offer. These people really love these wolves. We fell in love with all of them. If you have never visited, please do so! You won't be sorry.

  • Ely is beautiful, we go up there every year for swim camp.

  • Thanks for sharing these images...

It's one of the most breaktaking place where i've been... For wolf lovers like us it just a must place to go once il lifetime. (we've been there in april 2000 to meet Lucas, Lakota & macKenzie) : see the video i posted as video response ;-) Cheers from Italy, Stefano

  • Thanks for sharing your video..love the music and what is the name so I can get it! Sadly, Lucas and MacKenzie have passed but Lakota is still going at 15 years old. My sister and I were there this summer as "nannys" to the newest pack members Adian and Denali. What a experience!! Be sure to visit their website to see update logs and videos. They also have webcams to view the pack! Hope you get back there to visit again! Ely is a magical place!

  • I was in Ely for 2 weeks. Im from Rochester, Minnesota and traveling 6 hours to a small town is freaking worth the beauty of Ely: Wolf Center, The Root beer lady, Ely Minor lake (iron deposits) and many other places to see in a small town. if anyone reads it and likes traveling i recommend going to Ely.

  • I'm going here in two weeks. I can't wait!

  • Ely is a great place to visit! I plan to get back to see the new pups at IWC this year and to do some light back country hikes to my great grandparents place near Hovland which is nicely returning to the wilderness over the past 50 years.

  • I go up to Ely every year for some pike fishing. that place is incredible! Thanks for the shots!

  • Hello I'm Darlene, Joan Haugs daughter. This is so beautiful. I am really into wolves too.You do beautiful work. I would love to go out there to see these wolves. Great work

  • Absolutely gorgeous! But then, considering the sources, who would expect any difference!

    Great work you two!

    Gerri
