Earth to douggie....no shyte Sherlock!! read the comment before ya comment( think a little),,,,if you think this planet is heating then your owned. My comment reflects your own. Again follow the patterns of the sun over many many years....there I was a tad slower but not grade three level just yet.....but I'll reserve the right for Becij
climate change a massive hoax.....started by those stinking elite so they could stick a carbon tax on the people. and the idiots who swallowed have been used to create a political group....you got dooped big time! its so funny, they say its carbon and the world was much hotter pre industrial time, when much more carbon was created through increased industry the world was cooler. thickos! it follows the pattern of the sun not what algore said!!!!!
So in others words~ people are waking up to the fraud of global warming just in time to be taxed via carbon.....lol the very air a person echales breath. Government control much? Thanks Al.....To soon stupid....like Duh of course global warming is a farce.
Of course the last few winters were very cold, climatologists try say that it may be because of global warming, Jesus, there will be no end to this and the most disturbing part is they will never admit they could be wrong, they are in no doubt. Even Bastardi says he could be wrong!
We need to find alternative sources of energy, But for now lets burn fossil fuels as cleanly as possible until Fusion works, and keep fossil fuels affordable!
Arctic Oscillation. Look it up. All that snow last year was the result of added moisture from the south (as a result of global warming) meeting the negative phase of arctic oscillation.
Climatologists' models have been very accurate, and the ONLY viable reason not to believe them is the greed of a few trying to exploit AGW policy for their own gain. No science exists to debunk AGW theory.
Climatologists rely too much on computer models and they make drastic predictions that can be seriously wrong, just a tiny piece of wrong code in the computer model and the output is useless! A program designed to say co2 causes warming will always say it's going to be warm, Look at the Hadley centres predictions for the last 2 or 3 winters, they said it may be the warmest on record, they were wrong, record low temps in Ireland and the U.K Nov-Dec 2010 since records began!
Joe Bastardi is a forecaster, but that doesn't mean he is full of s**t. Climatologists think they are gods with such a fancy title, and that the debate is over as far as they are concerned. The debate should never be over. Satellites only started recording temps since 1979, and while the temps have being going up, they peaked in 1998 and have since come down slowly, with up and down spikes.
@WeAreChangeSF911 It certainly is a fraud Watch thr vid "Greening the Dessert " Its very uplifting to see the great things that some people are doing in the face of such evil
Why didn't this agenda blind genius know about HAARP Weapon & the events it's created? Yes, Global warming or the next Ice Age is man-made but not by the means the media is having you believe. H.A.A.R.P. people! The greatest threat to mankind ever beside ourselves. One
I'm Brick Tamland. People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks. Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48 and I am what some people call mentally retarded.
"IPCC feels the heat as it is told to get its facts right about global warming" -- independent . co . uk
Note that those who do all the reporting on the hoax still label those who reject their now-exposed hoax as "skeptics". Do they label those who reject the claims of genetic superiority by national socialists, like Nazis or La Raza, as "skeptics" too?
Eco-socialism -- The Audacity of Hoax. They're no different than any other sect of socialism.
great to see that people are actually having the balls to stand up against the AL GORE, UN and GE Georgre Soros's that stood to gain Billions from Duping people that we could change the climate. The Times They are A changing! america is awake, thanks to Beck and Obama.
"Climate Change" Yep it exists. That is like saying day will turn to night. The issue is "AGW", "Man Made Global Warming". It is utter nonsense. The fact that the world has been much warmer and had much more carbon in the atmosphere in past pre-industrial centuries is enough to make any common sense person call BULLSHIT!
Now the science is all out in the open for 80% of the world to overlook, because people are stupid. Saying CO2 is responsible is just as good as tracing it back to deforestation, which would obviously be overlooked while loggers cut down millions of tree's a year. So in essence, even if CO2 was destroying the climate, it would be directly related to deforestation & clearly deforestation would be the issue that needed addressing... Yet, it always sways away from big greedy corporations.
Here is another element: octahedral coordination sights are found in all negatively charged ions. Uranium,Plutonium,......... Flourine... This is how you can tell if it is dangerous to humans & the environment. Flourine(F-) You see the negative after the abbreviated notation of Flourine??? That is the same negatively charged particle in CFC coolants. Yes, its radiation. Radiation is the only substance destroying the climate. Look for the negative behind elements. They Lie!!!!
These last 3 summers have been record scorchers. But all atoms that do not contain a negative after it are not responsible. So CO2 being the problem is the biggest scam of humanity. to force us into a carbon tax when it scientifically has absolutely nothing to do with global warming, while offshore oil drillers take the attention & responsiblity from themselves as they drill into the side of mountains releasing volatile negatively charged carbon atoms. Octahedral coordination is radiation.
@matt1337c Michigan broke 100 in 3 years running. That broke a record that was set 100 years ago.. No, just some strange coincidence right??? What we are being lied about is CO2. Co2 does not destroy the environment. what does destroy the ozone is CFC's, oil drilling, nuclear powers. The reason being is there all negatively charged ions. Co2 does NOT contain negatively charged particles. So it is very clear that there is a lie involved. Offshore oil drillers are the most at fault.
They're going to try and pass the Cap & Tax in September before elections. $1700 annual increase for most households to support a hoax. Canada will do well if this bill passes kiss industry jobs good bye!
watch "United Nations exposed" global warming is an old hoax from The Club of Rome , that doesnt mean the weather is not crap , that mean this meant to limit the growth... more people equals less control , for the elite ofc.
@Unkn0wnGuy It's worth noting that any individual season, or string of seasons, cannot be claimed as proof or disproof of climate change. Climatology is a statistical science, and is based on long-term (typically 30 years or more) trends. According to these long-term trends, the evidence for global warming is real.
Global warming is bullshit! we are currently in a smal ice age. it is actually GETTING COLDER! I'm going out now with my Range Rover to warm up the planet a little bit!...
Of course there's Climate Change & it's man-made, but it's not due to pollution & CO2 gases. The US first said it didn't exist, now they're all for it (like every other government) since they can tax people (the poorest, as usual, who buy second-hand cars 'cause they can't afford brand new 'green' ones) & cover up that they're fucking up the weather all over the world - causing floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.. - with the HAARP weapon program. Journeyman Pics, when are you gonna report that?
The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.
This documentary is Australian, and the overall aim is to look at the debate and who is involved in the US. But this is only a small part of the documentary.
the debate among scientists isn't about whether there is climate change it is whether or not co2 is having a noticeable effect on it. Saying "oh that iceberg right there is melting" doesn't prove jack about co2. Factors like the sun and changing patterns could be having a larger effect. The vast majority of these "climate scientists" were educated in heavily liberal biased institutions, and are nothing but peons of a larger agenda to tax one of the 4 main elements of life - carbon. Sad
@cmj2k6 Yes, because American universities are so liberal compared to the rest of the world? The other developed countries don't make people pay $30,000 upwards a year to get an education. Is it that hard to believe that scientists are more intelligent than you? You come up with bullshit alternative reasons for climate change that someone 1000x more intelligent that you has already thought of and factored into their research.
@cmj2k6 Have you ever considered that America is falling behind because you don't listen to your scientists and experts from universities? Your economy nearly fell apart because you couldn't regulate it properly, because banks and corporations were more important to you than your own citizens.
And anytime an academic comes up with a legitmate idea to fix a situation; instead of trying it out you just label them a 'liberal' as if its a bad thing and choose to do nothing.
Our economy is faltering because the government is trying to do to much to regulate it. America didn't because the worlds biggest economic power through liberal tax and regulate policies.
@cmj2k6 You can't stay the world's biggest power if you can't even regulate the soundness of banks and provide accessible healthcare. All this would be too liberal.
No but evolution is obviously a false theory that only leads to communism... The socialists just want to take away your freedom, even to worship! Therefore we should just abandon all science and live under biblical law. Let the stoning begin!
Those are the words of a devout Warmer, not of an unbiased reporter.
Does one "deny the existence of" a master race?
Or do we simply reject junk science, scientific hoaxes, and the socialist fraudsters who endlessly perpetrate them? The Warmers' frauds were OUTed already. IPCC are UN bureaucrats, not scientists.
“Climategate: A Veteran Meteorologist Exposes the Global Warming Scam”
@TylerNull Surprise, surprise! Another uneducated Teabagger leaving droppings of their stupidity in the comments of a science-based video.
Silent Spring delivered us from DDT and a host of other poisons manuf. were exposing us to; even China recognized overpopulation is real; Hello 9-11!; do you really need proof of the possibility of nuclear winter?; Brazil = bye-bye rain forest; Don't ask- don't tell; ozone pix are fake?
Lemme guess - you think Sarah Palin would make a good leader.
By "delivered us from DDT", the illiterate dupe means they denied Africans of that miracle cure, so millions die each year of bug borne diseases.
By "overpopulation", the illiterate dupe means such a severe shortage of people and such unsustainably low birth rates that Westerners must import breeders.
Brazil is virtually all jungle, jackass.
Aside from mindlessly reciting stale agitprop, have you socialists ANYTHING else in your cosmetic kits?
"grade school children" -- begin reciting the lies you just did because they too suffer under the largest, richest price-fixing cartel in human history -- teachers' labor unions. Sue which ever one so defrauded your parents out of all the taxes they paid, assuming they paid any. (They have a VERY strong case.)
Reality exists. It's not just someone else's opinion. Nothing that either of us post can change the facts.
@TylerNull You're right about ONE thing so far - nothing we post can change the facts, but at least I go looking for the REAL facts rather than relying on talking points promoted by misguided & misled groups funded by Big Biz whose only interest is to get rid of anything that regulates their behavior.
Try investigating WHO is behind your political biases and WHY they are leading your group in a particular direction.
Also - try reading rather than listening to Levin, Limbaugh & the like.
Oh, and you're going to have to slander a MUCH broader list to prevent reality from seeping into your junk science.
"
The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.
@TylerNull Have you looked at time-lapse documentation of the disappearance of polar and glacier ice around the world or is THAT fake like the pix of the ozone holes too?
AND Isn't ALL science "junk science" when you believe the Earth was "created" solely for the consumption of "Man"?
When you folks start to REALLY look into the facts rather than take them from financially invested entities then and only then will your contribution to the discussion be valid.
If your scientific illiteracy weren't so immaculate you would ask if it's a cyclical, e.g., 50 yr pattern, or what is the MASS (what's the thickness thereof).
Try science, instead of political manifestos "validated" by gov't grant recipients..
Your scientific illiteracy is what leaves you so vulnerable to political hustlers claiming they can control the Earth's weather in exchange for your earnings and liberties.
Having a thesaurus within reach gets you no points for scientific knowledge. You have given ZERO evidence for your stance and continue only with vague accusations and an obvious lack of knowledge of the discussion.
I'll ask again: have you seen the time lapse documentation of ice loss? What knowledge of it do you have and where did you get your information.
I am having the same lame argument with you that I have had with BriansVideoHobby - read that.
Anyway, I'll continue to point out published reports of Warmer fraud, while you continue to proselytize their hoaxes and otherwise perfectly invert reality. This is fun.
"
What happened to global warming?
... the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.
For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.
@TylerNull And your point? How does that statement have any bearing on Climate Change? Not to mention missing the trend of warming that has continued since the "little ice age" and the fact that we are currently in THE warmest year in recorded history.
I'll repeat myself again: we are having the same argument I have already had in this commentary - read it.
Until you can give some facts and back them up with a reliable source you offer nothing but word-play.
This isn't a discussion. It''s a chronicle of the mental dysfunctions of eco-dupes.
And mass is considered a property not a fact. Then again, your attempt to sound all scientific-y only focuses on just how illiterate you are.
And if you knew what was and was not "worthy of discussion", then you wouldn't be proselytizing the frauds of political hustlers under the prophesy of Thermal Armageddon, or be duped into the notion of government-controlled weather.
Frankly, you would do your self a favor to use the energy put into that snarky attitude into educating yourself on the reality of how the world works.
@TylerNull So it's not OK for there to be a Teacher's Union, but it is OK for there to be OPEC, organized business councils, organized corporations working for their collective benefit??? Oh no the Teacher's Labor Unions... ?? Wtf.
You muddle price-fixing cartels (labor unions & OPEC) with organizations who are forbidden by law from fixing the prices, or conspiring to fix the prices of anything. Beyond that, all you offer are hints at your personal emotional distress over my post.
Perhaps you are unaware, but the teachers labor unions are the largest, richest price-fixing cartel in human history. Worse yet, they are paid more per student than anywhere else, and they fail more spectacularly the more we pay them.
@TylerNull How is it not OK for individuals to be represented by organizations that work for their benefit? Collective bargaining for wages is not price fixing. I think there are a lot more worrying problems in the US and the world than labor unions. If people want to work together to protect their profession then so be it. Otherwise you force a race to the bottom and peoples wages fall behind.
Fixing prices is price fixing. And that is precisely what is done by labor union bosses, and they do so with government sponsorship. That's the fascistic core of socialism.
Hiding it behind "collective bargaining" or "working together" any other idiotic name doesn't change that fact.
Unable to defend it, you merely complain that I noticed.
@TylerNull Price-fixing cartel is obviously emotive language. It paints the situation as unfair and unreasonable. If you are talking about wages corporations can fix wages and conditions at anything they like. It's in the misguided belief that if you just let the market sort it out itself you will achieve a just outcome. And that all our problems stem from impeded markets by unions and regulation. How come other countries are more regulated and have better results?
Unable to defend your price fixing cartels, you try to declare the act of noticing to be some kind of wrong. Beyond that, all you do is spew lies and proselytize socialist mythology.
@TylerNull It is normal for birth rates to decline with increased rates of education and access to contraception... Hence why developing countries have higher birth rates. Wealthier educated people CHOOSE to have less children.
Deforestation is the most simple concept to understand, and it makes complete sense backed by evidence. I have no idea how you can disagree with it. Your ideology is just to oppose everything for the sake of it.
This isn't about whether anyone knows for sure what's going to happen, because no-one does. It's about how we respond to uncertainty. CO2 levels have increased 38% over pre-industrial levels. This must change something - we don't know exactly what or by how much - and we may yet be saved by something unexpected, but it seems unlikely. Do we prepare for what could happen, with many side benefits, or just ignore the possibility and hope that it won't because it's a bit inconvenient right now?
Interesting that it's been getting colder on average around the world for 12 years, or that the human race puts out less "greenhouse gases" in a year than a single volcanic eruption, of which there are many every year. Or, that the Polar Bear is on the endangered species list, despite having record-high populations. Completely political.
Also, they say Climate Change, not human-induced global warming. Climate change happens constantly. Humans have next to none impact on it.
Ted Turner, the owner of CNN has a solution to climate change. He wants to reduce the worlds population from 6 billion people to 1 billion people, I wonder which 5 billion people he wants to get rid of? The sun seems to be the biggest culprit in climate change, but the New World Order wants you to 'believe' you are the problem so they can tax you for breathing and they can control everything you do.
@Odenkay You mean believe those who are making massive amounts of money and cease to be important once the hoax ends or believe those with a much better understanding than the average citizen but have no monetary incentive? I lean towards the impartial group.
Many broadcast meteorologists are NOT actually meteorologists - they are broadcasting "talent".
Climatologists work with data gathered from sources covering many millenia - not just the weather records which have been around for less than 200 years.
How anyone can look at the extreme weather phenomenon today - flooding, drought, high temps, melting ice - and not recognize that they are examples of shifting weather patterns that tend toward extremes not seen before is in serious denial or stupid.
@Candyliz2003 What are you talking about? Temperatures haven't risen in a decade. Why do you believe there is more "flooding, drought, high temps, melting ice" when it's not at all true? Many climatologists are predicting an upcoming cold period!
Re. the temperatures - are you aware that this will be the hottest year on record? Please look at this NASA site:
data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2005/
Also - when considering data from 100s of thous. of years ago and pointing to spikes in CO2 or temp. you must remember that these often coincide with catastrphic events NOT humans spewing gases & particles into air & H2O.
To deny the effect we are having on Earth is to insure our doom.
@Candyliz2003 Yes, it is hot this year AND we are in a powerful El Niño just like previous record hot years. “Record” hot only means since we started recording temperatures, at the end of the little ice age! In reality, this is no where a “record hot year” compared to previous warming periods like the medieval warming period. Many climatologists are predicting a coming cooling period. We need alternative energy for a lot of good reasons, but global warming isn't one of them.
(FROM NOAA) ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES IN THE U.S. ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE DEVELOPING LA NINA AND WITH DECADAL TEMPERATURE TRENDS. (El Nino's effect tends more toward winter.)
I'm afraid you do not have the correct info if you think the Med. Warming period was as warm as we are now.
Also - there will always be a coming cooling/warming period unless we continue to "F" our planet up.
@Candyliz2003 By the way, you're point about warming and CO2 is humorous since it was the warming that released the CO2 hundreds of years AFTER, not the other way around.
@BriansVideoHobby What are you talking about? CO2 release from ice? From the oceans? Are you aware of catastrophic events that also do this? And how do you explain the anthropogenic CO2 and what effects it will/ is having on top of the normal trending seen from paleoclimatological data?
Before you answer any of these questions please tell me: WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR DATA?
@Candyliz2003 Excuse me? You don't now that almost all past increases in CO2 occurred hundreds of years AFTER the warming periods started? My data comes from the infamous hockey stick graph that Gore made huge so YOU couldn't tell that warming typically comes BEFORE CO2 increases. Anthropogenic CO2 is a minor influence on climate.
@BriansVideoHobby Saying that "anthropogenic CO2 is a minor influence on climate" leads me to believe that you have little understanding of the subject - which is why I keep asking where you get your info. There have been a few (less than a couple of % points of the population) scientists who've become well-known Climate Change deniers thanks to the (mostly) religious-right, Libertarian leaning, pro Big- Biz folks with little knowledge on the subject and a monetary interest in the status quo.
@Candyliz2003 I have studied this issue using hundreds of sources over a decade that believed, didn't believe, thought it was true but overblown. The evidence we have now from all reasonable non-biased sources is that we are in a natural warming period that is being amplified by anthropogenic CO2. How much is certainly far less than the sensationalists want you to believe. The argument isn't about religion and that's such a tired, old, meaningless accusation.
@BriansVideoHobby While there are those who DO exaggerate, the truth is in there - which is why I keep asking where you source your info.. I'm sorry but your answer reminds me of Sarah Palin's re. her reading materials - too vague. Citing a source is what gives credibility to your stance on a given subject and if you cannot provide one you cannot be taken seriously.
@Candyliz2003 Asking me my "source" is like asking me what I ate over the last ten years. My source is just about every major study that gets released AND the reviews of those studies. That's were climate change sensationalists fail; they never question the methods behind the studies or the conclusions they draw without a critical eye. Many conclusions are written by bureaucrats like the IPCC reports that have been called into question by many leading scientific organizations.
@BriansVideoHobby If you can't give proof for your statements they have NO merit.
Just like John Coleman, a well-known TV weatherman who rails against the IPCC you have done no examination of the issues - you just speak off the top of your head. You have no credibility if you can give no evidence - and every bit of info you've thrown up here has been BS (some of it years old after refutation).
To simply accept the claims of ppl without seeking truth is why we have so many problems now.
@Candyliz2003 I have done EXTENSIVE and in-depth examination of this issue. I have hundreds of hours of study under my belt. I have read the IPCC studies and the studies that clearly, using proper scientific method and review, prove many of their conclusions to be exaggerated or non-existent. Many of the scientists who CONTRIBUTED to the IPCC studies say the conclusions are ridiculous. It took me 10 seconds to find NUMEROUS articles and studies from respectable organizations. Open your eyes.
@Candyliz2003 You know, as I put together a list for you, you should watch this /watch?v=Dtbn9zBfJSs . It really drills down to the main point that global warming (man made or not) is a minor issue compared to real problems. This study was by 30 of the worlds best economists including Nobel Laureates’.
@Candyliz2003 You are asking me to prove a negative, that something you claim exists without evidence doesn't exist. That's like saying prove there is no god because my bible says there is. What I can point you to are peer reviews of studies like those the IPCC has put forward (based upon newspaper clippings, unpublished student papers, extremist environmentalist group opinion articles) that demonstrate that organizations like the IPCC will say ANYTHING to move their agenda forward.
@BriansVideoHobby As an atheist I am familiar with the argument you are using. But, you say there is proof that Climate Change is exaggerated - give me that proof from someone recognized as a peer by scientists in climatology.
Bjorn is an interesting writer and academician but NOT a climatologist or even a meteorologist. There is a good deal of controversy and condemnation of his work - which is mainly about the economics of battling Climate Change - which he does not deny.
@Candyliz2003 Perhaps, since you've closed your eyes to science and can't do a minute of research in to the actual studies behind the science, you will listen to the Professor of Meteorology and the Department of Earth Atmosphere and Planetary Sciences at M.I.T., Richard S Lindzen: /watch?v=Fz8KiA-YMt8&feature=related
@BriansVideoHobby Unfortunately, religion is the backbone to most of the arguments made by conservatives in the US - and when it comes to Climate Change the religious right can't see past 6000 years when it comes to paleoclimatological evidence.
The fact that the superstitious have so much power over daily life in the US is evidence enough that there is nothing "meaningless" about that accusation.
@Candyliz2003 That is such a load of liberal propaganda crap. Critics of climate change sensationalists come from all parts of our society and religion has nothing to do with a conservative point of view. I am a moderate with conservative economic views and I'm not religious. Only a dumbass thinks the earth is 6000 years old and I have never once met anyone who believes that. Of course, that doesn't stop liberals from repeating it.
@BriansVideoHobby Whoa! You are a few years behind your talking points! Try checking out Joe Barton (R - TX) congressional testimony/ questioning of Gore.
You need to learn more about glacial-Interglacial periods and the CO2 flux if you really want to discuss this properly. Your argument about lag was laid to rest years ago and is only coming back into play because of politics.
@Candyliz2003 No, I mean: "At the UN's World Climate Change Conference in Geneva one of the worlds top climate change scientists, predicted that we are facing 10-20 years of global cooling"
the comments to this video just proves the ignorance of people to science, read a journal or two and learn something. it will make you feel so much better knowing you have actual knowledge and facts to form your opinion.
Sea levels haven't risen at all. Last time I checked manhattan isn't underwater yet. Ancient climate records reveal that the earth had far greater concentrations of carbon dioxide -- as high as 6,000 parts per million (ppm) in the Carboniferous period; the current level is 378 ppm.
Global warming is seriously coming. Go to my channel and watch the video I just uploaded showing ice bergs and glaciers ripping apart. It was recorded live couple weeks ago.
Whether global warming is scientifically sound or not is beside the point to what's going on with the debate here. The real resistance to global warming is not in the science, but in the policy implications.A lot of people who reject it may be just plain ignorant & a lot of them might be confused because both side of the debate have been erroneously given equal validity. But a majority of them fear that admitting that global warming is real is going to affect their pocket books & way of life.
@Mxyzptlk562 Whether global warming is scientifically sound or not is beside the point to what's going on with the debate. The real persistence of warming alarmism is not in the science, but in the policy implications. A lot of people who accept it may be just plain ignorant & a lot of them might be confused because both side of the debate have been erroneously given equal validity. But a majority of them fear that admitting that global warming is a hoax is going to affect their pocket books.
Btw, if global warming is considered a hoax or not caused by people, then there is no imperative to change behavior, and, therefore, there is no reason for businesses to invest in cleaner technology that might slow or mitigate it.
@Mxyzptlk562 Plagiarism? I guess you didn't read it. There's a lot of reason to explore alternative energy. New profits, exportable technologies, less pollution, lower costs, portable energy without fuel, reduce dependence on hostile countries, ETC. Too bad Obama blew all of our grandkids money and spent next to nothing on what we really need, alternative energy.
@BriansVideoHobby Yes, that's the political side. Blame it all on Obama like he created this whole problem. And when his one term is up I wonder who will be to blame then.
@Mxyzptlk562 Currently, he is the most culpable person for not launching a massive "man on the moon" effort to become energy independent. TRILLIONS in debt spending given to banks and businesses with NOTHING to show for it. With that money, we could NOW be energy independent and well on our way to massive reductions in CO2 emissions. At any point, with a real leader, we are 10 years away from becoming the worlds leader in clean energy production AND exportation.
@BriansVideoHobby And what was the excuse two years ago when Bush was in office, or 10 years ago when Clinton was in office? And what will be the excuse in 2014 when whoever will be elected in 2012 will have a 18 months in office? Same old crap is the answer. There has been no leadership when it comes to the environment and new energy policy in this country over the last 30 years.
@Mxyzptlk562 None. No excuses. This is a huge opportunity for America that will never come to past because Obama has squandered our treasure and our future treasure. The next president won't have the resources to pull it off. Obama could have, and I honestly believed he would. We could have created hundreds of thousands of jobs and a huge new industry; instead we got bailouts for the people who got rich off of Clinton's sub-prime fiasco.
@BriansVideoHobby You are suffering from that same type of myopia that a great many Americans already have in that you can see past the partisan bullshit. If you think this is really a Left vs Right/Lib vs Neo-con issue, then you are not alone. But the fact is the joke is on you and all the rest of dopes who think electing another Republican or almost anyone else into office is going to change the status quo. Keep on dreaming and wasting valuable time.
@Mxyzptlk562 NO. Read the damn posts. All past presidents back to Carter are culpable for not even attempting to achieve energy independence. The difference now is that Obama has weighted us down with so much economy crushing debt; we now CAN'T do a "man on the moon" size effort. If he had spent that debt on this effort instead of pissing it away, it would have been a worthwhile investment/risk. Now what are we going to do?
True, Democrats played dead, and passed the Bush tax cuts - I'm still angry about that. And much of the blame must go to the public too - they bought, and continue to buy Reagan-style Voodoo economics. As for Obama being worse than Bush when it comes to war, I don't see how that can be. Bush invaded 2 countries!
@MrNYCInwood Tax cuts didn't collapse the economy. What are you talking about? The economy collapsed when we ran out of new sub-prime borrowers from the Clinton sub-prime fiasco and the housing bubble burst. Suddenly people who couldn't pay couldn't sell their houses for a profit and started to default. The mortgage backed securities failed and companies started to call in the credit default swaps that couldn't be covered. This was all Clinton. Bush sucked, but he didn't do any of it.
All the chaos you describe came with the success of Reagan's revolution - meaning trashing govt's ability to regulate the financial industries. And yes, it was done with the co-operation of Clinton and many Democrats. And I don't think Obama is doing enough to reverse this state of affairs. That's partly because so many people still believe that "government is the problem."
@MrNYCInwood True, deregulation under Reagan led to the S&L crises, but that had nothing to do with this collapse. Banks that were healthy and responsible in their lending were arm twisted through the CRA to start making bad loans and passing them off to investors and FM/FM. That was the trigger. The avalanche was credit default swaps, voted for by more Democrats, voted against by more Republicans, and signed in to law by Clinton. Those are the facts.
@BriansVideoHobby I'd like to dispute your facts. The CRA didn't create the bad debt crises - 1) deregulated banks entered all sorts of sectors. creating banks that were "too big to fail." 2) complex inventions in the financial sector like credit default swaps allowed players to post profits, while either hiding the debts or passing them along to others. It was a house of cards that was destined to fall sooner or later.

Of course the last few winters were very cold, climatologists try say that it may be because of global warming, Jesus, there will be no end to this and the most disturbing part is they will never admit they could be wrong, they are in no doubt. Even Bastardi says he could be wrong!
We need to find alternative sources of energy, But for now lets burn fossil fuels as cleanly as possible until Fusion works, and keep fossil fuels affordable!
o00scorpion00o 1 year ago
@o00scorpion00o
No science exists to debunk AGW theory.
evanWith7 1 year ago
Climatologists rely too much on computer models and they make drastic predictions that can be seriously wrong, just a tiny piece of wrong code in the computer model and the output is useless! A program designed to say co2 causes warming will always say it's going to be warm, Look at the Hadley centres predictions for the last 2 or 3 winters, they said it may be the warmest on record, they were wrong, record low temps in Ireland and the U.K Nov-Dec 2010 since records began!
o00scorpion00o 1 year ago
Joe Bastardi is a forecaster, but that doesn't mean he is full of s**t. Climatologists think they are gods with such a fancy title, and that the debate is over as far as they are concerned. The debate should never be over. Satellites only started recording temps since 1979, and while the temps have being going up, they peaked in 1998 and have since come down slowly, with up and down spikes.

LendMeYourHand 1 year ago
These last 3 summers have been record scorchers. But all atoms that do not contain a negative after it are not responsible. So CO2 being the problem is the biggest scam of humanity. to force us into a carbon tax when it scientifically has absolutely nothing to do with global warming, while offshore oil drillers take the attention & responsiblity from themselves as they drill into the side of mountains releasing volatile negatively charged carbon atoms. Octahedral coordination is radiation.
LendMeYourHand 1 year ago
@matt1337c Michigan broke 100 in 3 years running. That broke a record that was set 100 years ago.. No, just some strange coincidence right??? What we are being lied about is CO2. Co2 does not destroy the environment. what does destroy the ozone is CFC's, oil drilling, nuclear powers. The reason being is there all negatively charged ions. Co2 does NOT contain negatively charged particles. So it is very clear that there is a lie involved. Offshore oil drillers are the most at fault.

@Unkn0wnGuy It's worth noting that any individual season, or string of seasons, cannot be claimed as proof or disproof of climate change. Climatology is a statistical science, and is based on long-term (typically 30 years or more) trends. According to these long-term trends, the evidence for global warming is real.

the debate among scientists isn't about whether there is climate change it is whether or not co2 is having a noticeable effect on it.

TylerNull 1 year ago
@TylerNull How is it not OK for individuals to be represented by organizations that work for their benefit? Collective bargaining for wages is not price fixing. I think there are a lot more worrying problems in the US and the world than labor unions. If people want to work together to protect their profession then so be it. Otherwise you force a race to the bottom and peoples wages fall behind.
beamla 1 year ago
@beamla
TylerNull 1 year ago
@TylerNull Price-fixing cartel is obviously emotive language. It paints the situation as unfair and unreasonable.

Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 What are you talking about? Temperatures haven't risen in a decade. Why do you believe there is more "flooding, drought, high temps, melting ice" when it's not at all true? Many climatologists are predicting an upcoming cold period!
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby It's about extremes and climate CHANGE.
Re. the temperatures - are you aware that this will be the hottest year on record? Please look at this NASA site:
data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2005/
Also - when considering data from 100s of thous. of years ago and pointing to spikes in CO2 or temp. you must remember that these often coincide with catastrphic events NOT humans spewing gases & particles into air & H2O.
To deny the effect we are having on Earth is to insure our doom.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 Yes, it is hot this year AND we are in a powerful El Niño just like previous record hot years. “Record” hot only means since we started recording temperatures, at the end of the little ice age! In reality, this is no where a “record hot year” compared to previous warming periods like the medieval warming period. Many climatologists are predicting a coming cooling period. We need alternative energy for a lot of good reasons, but global warming isn't one of them.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby Again - Where are you getting your info?
(FROM NOAA) ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES IN THE U.S. ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE DEVELOPING LA NINA AND WITH DECADAL TEMPERATURE TRENDS. (El Nino's effect tends more toward winter.)
I'm afraid you do not have the correct info if you think the Med. Warming period was as warm as we are now.
Also - there will always be a coming cooling/warming period unless we continue to "F" our planet up.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 By the way, you're point about warming and CO2 is humorous since it was the warming that released the CO2 hundreds of years AFTER, not the other way around.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby What are you talking about? CO2 release from ice? From the oceans? Are you aware of catastrophic events that also do this? And how do you explain the anthropogenic CO2 and what effects it will/ is having on top of the normal trending seen from paleoclimatological data?
Before you answer any of these questions please tell me: WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR DATA?
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 Excuse me? You don't now that almost all past increases in CO2 occurred hundreds of years AFTER the warming periods started? My data comes from the infamous hockey stick graph that Gore made huge so YOU couldn't tell that warming typically comes BEFORE CO2 increases. Anthropogenic CO2 is a minor influence on climate.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby Saying that "anthropogenic CO2 is a minor influence on climate" leads me to believe that you have little understanding of the subject - which is why I keep asking where you get your info. There have been a few (less than a couple of % points of the population) scientists who've become well-known Climate Change deniers thanks to the (mostly) religious-right, Libertarian leaning, pro Big- Biz folks with little knowledge on the subject and a monetary interest in the status quo.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 I have studied this issue using hundreds of sources over a decade that believed, didn't believe, thought it was true but overblown. The evidence we have now from all reasonable non-biased sources is that we are in a natural warming period that is being amplified by anthropogenic CO2. How much is certainly far less than the sensationalists want you to believe. The argument isn't about religion and that's such a tired, old, meaningless accusation.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby While there are those who DO exaggerate, the truth is in there - which is why I keep asking where you source your info.. I'm sorry but your answer reminds me of Sarah Palin's re. her reading materials - too vague. Citing a source is what gives credibility to your stance on a given subject and if you cannot provide one you cannot be taken seriously.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 Asking me my "source" is like asking me what I ate over the last ten years. My source is just about every major study that gets released AND the reviews of those studies. That's were climate change sensationalists fail; they never question the methods behind the studies or the conclusions they draw without a critical eye. Many conclusions are written by bureaucrats like the IPCC reports that have been called into question by many leading scientific organizations.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby If you can't give proof for your statements they have NO merit.
Just like John Coleman, a well-known TV weatherman who rails against the IPCC you have done no examination of the issues - you just speak off the top of your head. You have no credibility if you can give no evidence - and every bit of info you've thrown up here has been BS (some of it years old after refutation).
To simply accept the claims of ppl without seeking truth is why we have so many problems now.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 I have done EXTENSIVE and in-depth examination of this issue. I have hundreds of hours of study under my belt. I have read the IPCC studies and the studies that clearly, using proper scientific method and review, prove many of their conclusions to be exaggerated or non-existent. Many of the scientists who CONTRIBUTED to the IPCC studies say the conclusions are ridiculous. It took me 10 seconds to find NUMEROUS articles and studies from respectable organizations. Open your eyes.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby Just give me one item that's peer reviewed & published that myself & others can go to and read.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 You know, as I put together a list for you, you should watch this /watch?v=Dtbn9zBfJSs . It really drills down to the main point that global warming (man made or not) is a minor issue compared to real problems. This study was by 30 of the worlds best economists including Nobel Laureates’.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 You are asking me to prove a negative, that something you claim exists without evidence doesn't exist. That's like saying prove there is no god because my bible says there is. What I can point you to are peer reviews of studies like those the IPCC has put forward (based upon newspaper clippings, unpublished student papers, extremist environmentalist group opinion articles) that demonstrate that organizations like the IPCC will say ANYTHING to move their agenda forward.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby As an atheist I am familiar with the argument you are using. But, you say there is proof that Climate Change is exaggerated - give me that proof from someone recognized as a peer by scientists in climatology.
Bjorn is an interesting writer and academician but NOT a climatologist or even a meteorologist. There is a good deal of controversy and condemnation of his work - which is mainly about the economics of battling Climate Change - which he does not deny.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago

Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 That is such a load of liberal propaganda crap. Critics of climate change sensationalists come from all parts of our society and religion has nothing to do with a conservative point of view. I am a moderate with conservative economic views and I'm not religious. Only a dumbass thinks the earth is 6000 years old and I have never once met anyone who believes that. Of course, that doesn't stop liberals from repeating it.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby Whoa! You are a few years behind your talking points! Try checking out Joe Barton (R - TX) congressional testimony/ questioning of Gore.
You need to learn more about glacial-Interglacial periods and the CO2 flux if you really want to discuss this properly. Your argument about lag was laid to rest years ago and is only coming back into play because of politics.
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby Why are you speaking of decades? And have you NOT seen any of the data that says exactly the opposite?
"climatologists are predicting an upcoming cold period"
Do you mean "winter"?(LOL)
Where did you get your info?
Candyliz2003 1 year ago
@Candyliz2003 No, I mean: "At the UN's World Climate Change Conference in Geneva one of the worlds top climate change scientists, predicted that we are facing 10-20 years of global cooling"

@nois3 You're talking about the global warming alarmists, right?
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
Sea levels haven't risen at all. Last time I checked manhattan isn't underwater yet. Ancient climate records reveal that the earth had far greater concentrations of carbon dioxide -- as high as 6,000 parts per million (ppm) in the Carboniferous period; the current level is 378 ppm.

@ItsMichaelFoo That happens every year, icecaps melt and then freeze again.

BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby Wow! Plagiarism.
Btw, if global warming is considered a hoax or not caused by people, then there is no imperative to change behavior, and, therefore, there is no reason for businesses to invest in cleaner technology that might slow or mitigate it.
Mxyzptlk562 1 year ago
@Mxyzptlk562 Plagiarism? I guess you didn't read it. There's a lot of reason to explore alternative energy. New profits, exportable technologies, less pollution, lower costs, portable energy without fuel, reduce dependence on hostile countries, ETC. Too bad Obama blew all of our grandkids money and spent next to nothing on what we really need, alternative energy.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby Yes, that's the political side. Blame it all on Obama like he created this whole problem. And when his one term is up I wonder who will be to blame then.
Mxyzptlk562 1 year ago
@Mxyzptlk562 Currently, he is the most culpable person for not launching a massive "man on the moon" effort to become energy independent. TRILLIONS in debt spending given to banks and businesses with NOTHING to show for it. With that money, we could NOW be energy independent and well on our way to massive reductions in CO2 emissions. At any point, with a real leader, we are 10 years away from becoming the worlds leader in clean energy production AND exportation.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby And what was the excuse two years ago when Bush was in office, or 10 years ago when Clinton was in office? And what will be the excuse in 2014 when whoever will be elected in 2012 will have a 18 months in office? Same old crap is the answer. There has been no leadership when it comes to the environment and new energy policy in this country over the last 30 years.
Mxyzptlk562 1 year ago
@Mxyzptlk562 None. No excuses. This is a huge opportunity for America that will never come to past because Obama has squandered our treasure and our future treasure. The next president won't have the resources to pull it off. Obama could have, and I honestly believed he would. We could have created hundreds of thousands of jobs and a huge new industry; instead we got bailouts for the people who got rich off of Clinton's sub-prime fiasco.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby You are suffering from that same type of myopia that a great many Americans already have in that you can see past the partisan bullshit. If you think this is really a Left vs Right/Lib vs Neo-con issue, then you are not alone. But the fact is the joke is on you and all the rest of dopes who think electing another Republican or almost anyone else into office is going to change the status quo. Keep on dreaming and wasting valuable time.
Mxyzptlk562 1 year ago
@Mxyzptlk562 NO. Read the damn posts. All past presidents back to Carter are culpable for not even attempting to achieve energy independence. The difference now is that Obama has weighted us down with so much economy crushing debt; we now CAN'T do a "man on the moon" size effort. If he had spent that debt on this effort instead of pissing it away, it would have been a worthwhile investment/risk. Now what are we going to do?
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby
It was Bush, with his tax cuts for the rich, and his wars of choice that gave us all of that debt.
MrNYCInwood 1 year ago
@MrNYCInwood the democrats passed his tax cuts. and obama just like bush just worse. Debt is because of liberals and republicans.
mrmagicmixable 1 year ago
@mrmagicmixable
MrNYCInwood 1 year ago
@MrNYCInwood Tax cuts didn't collapse the economy. What are you talking about? The economy collapsed when we ran out of new sub-prime borrowers from the Clinton sub-prime fiasco and the housing bubble burst. Suddenly people who couldn't pay couldn't sell their houses for a profit and started to default. The mortgage backed securities failed and companies started to call in the credit default swaps that couldn't be covered. This was all Clinton. Bush sucked, but he didn't do any of it.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby
MrNYCInwood 1 year ago
@MrNYCInwood True, deregulation under Reagan led to the S&L crises, but that had nothing to do with this collapse. Banks that were healthy and responsible in their lending were arm twisted through the CRA to start making bad loans and passing them off to investors and FM/FM. That was the trigger. The avalanche was credit default swaps, voted for by more Democrats, voted against by more Republicans, and signed in to law by Clinton. Those are the facts.
BriansVideoHobby 1 year ago
@BriansVideoHobby I'd like to dispute your facts. The CRA didn't create the bad debt crises - 1) deregulated banks entered all sorts of sectors. creating banks that were "too big to fail." 2) complex inventions in the financial sector like credit default swaps allowed players to post profits, while either hiding the debts or passing them along to others. It was a house of cards that was destined to fall sooner or later.
