A breathtaking story! And the movie exposes not only the works of art, but incredible diversity of human nature. Decades of collector's risky and incredibly dedicated work, repressions, suffering — and ignorance of present time officials accompanied by greed of Western modern time collectors. I really hope the museum will survive and save its treasures.
I saw one painting (which included the Jewish girl) on TV last night from this collection which would set a new world record for value if ever sold. The woman who painted it was a bit paranoid, like Van Gogh..
An amazing documentary! I just watched a screening at MOMA and would like to thank the creators for producing such a wonderful and important piece of work!
This is it:
It's called Degenerate Art and you can buy it on Amazon.com

I'm so desperate to watch this, but cannot find it anywhere online.
Apart from pay-sites like iTunes, anyone got any ideas?

Governments always have the capacity to censor art. "Funding for the Arts" is their nice name for it.

You are so wrong. There are camels in Uzbekistan. I know because we filmed them. :)
