I like what the commentator said about prophetic events. What the dominion theologians are doing is doing away with prophetic EVENTS.
The Bible is an event driven book. Why would not the prophesies regarding the end times also be actual events. At least 50 prophecies have already been fulfilled regarding Israel since the diaspora. Only a few remain and they are anchored in the last days!
The Jews will call out for their Messiah and He will come to the Mt of Olives.
Those affiliated with Truth Seekers believe in prophesy. However in deuteronomy 18:20-22 God says that if you claim to be a prophet and are wrong just once, you are a false prophet. Benny Hinn and his friends along with many in the Apostolic Reformation of C.Peter wagner's group, are in our opinion false prophets. Some of the things they have said also contradict what the Bible states.
[ Gifts of Prophecy and Tongues ] Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.1 Corinthians 14:6
Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? Tongues is a gift too, but notice even revelation & knowledge & instruction mentioned, and prophecy was mentioned separatelely.
People have been questioning prophecy for ages & they just don't understand the gift that God gives to certain people. See sample below. 28 Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses' aide since youth, spoke up and said, "Moses, my lord, stop them!"
29 But Moses replied, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD's people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!" 30 Then Moses and the elders of Israel returned to the camp.
I hope none reading this are like this man in the bible. Numbers 11:26 However, two men, whose names were Eldad and Medad, had remained in the camp. They were listed among the elders, but did not go out to the Tent. Yet the Spirit also rested on them, and they prophesied in the camp. 27 A young man ran and told Moses, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp." 28 Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses' aide since youth, spoke up and said, "Moses, my lord, stop them!"Read 11:29 & on too
The gift of prophecy to men/women is different than the office (gift) of the prophet. Not all have this or understand it, so they oppose it & attempt to silence the true prophets. I have encountered true prophets & false ones also that prophecy out of their imaginations. But I test the words & spirit and don't reject it, unless it is proven to be untrue.
If you don't believe the scripture is what it is, you need to prayerfully consider it. It was written for a reason. Who is man to say that there are no prophets or apostles today, but that there are teachers, pastors and evangelists in this day & age. God appoints. Most of the time I see resistance to the prophets, is because the people just don't want to be open & believe. You can't receive the gift, if you don't believe in it. Many more scriptures I can quote.
Even though I believe scripturally we should test the spirit & examine the prophecies, due to false prophets & prophecies. No where do I find a scripture that mentions that there will not be any prophets in our day & age. I believe in the prophets of the old days, but God calls real prophets in all ages & times. Prophecy is a gift & not all men have that gift.
Ephesians 4:11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers
Just had a question. If you believe in the whole word of God,that it is inspired solely by God & not by man. Then why do you not support scriptures in the bible?1 Corinthians 13:9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part 1 Corinthians 14:5
" 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
"And God said, 'Let there be Darwinism and evolution ... and there was light!'" (anonymous)

@faithb3 Yes, you have correctly quoted Scripture. why people give you a minus mark for simply saying what the Bible says, is srage.
My thoughts are that the prophecy of the New covenant perhaps isn't predictive as much as edifying, exhorting and comfort, etc. (1cor 14.2).

Most understood the gifts.
