One reason, I think, that the majority (notice i said majority, not all) of Christian metal isn't as good as secular is because a large majority of Christian bands try to copy a particular secular band's sound. A nearly impossible task, as no two people have the same songwriting skill.

What we need are more Christian metal bands who write original riffs and make their own unique sound, instead of being poor, copycat bands.

Never Walk Alone is definitely about God. Also Dread and the Fugitive Mind is about Pascal's Wager which is a Christian idea, though the song could be easily misunderstood. Truth Be Told also has a lot of biblical themes and Christian theology, original sin and such.

Don't know how much you like death vocals, but they describe their music as "punishing nautical thrash". All their songs are related to the ocean. They're called Dagon. One of my favorite bands in the world! If you like the vocals of Amon Amarth, the thrashy sound of Slayer, and the insane guitar solos of Iron Maiden YOU WILL LOVE THEM!

We cannot fully escape from our sinful nature. I agree, we shouldn't judge. But it doesn't mean that if a christian person judges another, than they are not a 'real christian'. I listen to a lot of Black, Death, Thrash, Heavy Metal, some of which have satan mentioned in it. I try to listen to Christian Metal but i can't seem to get into it. I am Catholic and believe and Jesus but does that mean im going to hell if i prefer the other metal over Christian?
