Bret Hull was ALWAYS my favorite player I used to watch him play with my dad when i was 3 and believe it or not I remember those days like they were yesterday, my favorite on ice player is McDonald though, I really think he could take us all the way! LET"S GO BLUES!!!!
man, this video gives me chills dude. the old days of hockey i'd love to go to no doubt. just to witness some of the classic moments, especially the first 3 seasons going to the Stanley Cup Finals, just to see that happen.
I watch this video atleast once every 2 days, it gets me soo pumped up, im proud to cheer and wear the blue note, the time will come our young talent are starting to shine, LETS GO BLUES!!!
There is a couple of big differences between Quebec/Winnipeg and Pittsburgh/Nashville. Both of the Canadian cities needed new buildings, and the population of the metro areas were under a million. Pittsburgh did need a new building, but have a good market and are under a new league financial system. Nashville does not need a new building. Every Canadian NHL market has a metro area of over a million. There is not one canadian market that holds and NHL team with over a million people.
if the draft picks flop this team is toast..checketts has no money to keep them afloat and the fans have not responded...look for this team to be on the move in 5 yrs or less..
you just got to love the intelligence of that comment...first off if you do not like a comment reason why it was said..nobody wants the blues to move with all their history ,but their is a chance it could happen and the fans in st.louis better wake up...
yes there was a little anger there, but HELLO... the Blues were 13th in attendance last season with a team that finished 14th. There are only a couple of markets that I know of that can pull that off. You have no pull when you say "fans in st. louis better wake up".
well whatever u believe the blues are 1 of 15 teams that are bleeding red and their are whispers of possible relocation if checkets cannot afford the team...
Let me ask you this: what US market that does not have a hockey team could have a better support than what St. Louis has for the Blues? Gary Bettman did not allow Nashville to move. What does that say for St. Louis, who always trumps them in attendance?
do not shoot the messanger man...hockey ranks low in team sports in the usa and hopefully the blues get their act together...as for nashville well lets study that one...
Nashville has lost millions...fan average 7thousand ...they made it last year but with lots of tickets given away etc...Winnipeg had a average att.of 14thou...Que average 13 thou and both moved ...bettman does not want hockey in Canada as he has proven with that franchise and the Jim Balcilla (spelled it wrong)affair...even with revenue sharing would not have saved those franchises...
Nashville actually did pretty decent until the lockout as far as income goes, but they had a smart owner as well... similar to the blues and Dave Checketts. I dont know where you got 7k from? The Preds average attendance has average 13 to 15 thousand since its innaguration. Not great by any standard, but Sommet Center seats 17,100. Basille dropped the ball when he started taking deposits w/o the NHL's permission. Both the Pens and Preds situation has proven how inconsistent Basille is.
jim basille dropped the ball because he was canadian ...their are alot of american owners just as loud and outspoken ...its bullshit to think otherwise...winnipeg and quebec were relocated and mr.bettman has tried every trick in the book to keep his bleeding 15 american clubs across the border...winnipeg and quebec were given no second thoughts...
so u do not have to be a in csi to put the facts together ...bettman would sooner keep dying franchises in the us and he has 15 in the red now then relocate one to canada...i rest my case...
At 4:19, I thought it was pretty darn funny that the lady shoved her hand into the Blackhawk fan's mouth. I forgot how exciting St. Louis Blues hockey night is due to the fact I haven't lived in St.Louis for awhile since around 2000.
why does the blues not bring back brett hull to the org.? and if your going to trade for for a goalie from boston to get you later to your young guys why not take a chance on joseph?...st.louis needs to play more on saturday nights so we can follow them up here in canada...lets not make any stupid trades jd with all that young talent ,do not follow larrys plan which he did with phoenix and the oilers when he gave away young guys ........go blues from canada
Well, Backes played on a line with two sophomores. He score 10 goals, while Stempniak and McClement each improved significantly over their freshman year. Then EJ is coming this year, and Oshie next...
I'd say there's reason to be excited about the future.
just signed paul kariya, we are definitley going to the playoffs this year, this is going to be a exciting year of hockey for the blues to say the least, i can't wait for october, this siging of kariya is going to put even more butts in the seats, the scottrade center is going to be packed every night, this team is going to kick ass
None of that matters though because that was the past with the idiotic Wal Mart owners and the new ownership is doing A LOT BETTER already. LET'S GO BLUES!
Like that guy said even though when the Blues are doing bad, you can't give up on them, they are the hardest working team in hockey. There are no other teams like the St.Louis Blues, They are a great team
No, he's a MORON! He ruined the game with the ILLEGAL goal in the 1999 Finals and wined that it was a legal goal. Then he has several chances to sign back here and instead signs with the Detroit Red Wings and much less the Phoenix Coyotes. Hull has been dead to me since he left. I don't hate him as much as I do Chris Pronger. Hated him when he played here, glad we got Erik Johnson to MURDER Chris Pronger. GO BLUES!
He was handed a tentative offer just after the lockout ended and demanded that he wanted to be traded. Just like he did last year with Edmonton. I'm sure this summer he'll demand another trade.
this is what i try to explain to my friends, once you've lived in St.Louis, you cant give up on the blues, no matter how abysmal they are. Its this tradition and devotion that is indescribable and must be expierienced to be understood.
Beautifully done

Enjoyed your vid. I went to SLU in the late 80s and early 90s and got to see many of Hull's goals in the 86 goal season.
My favorite Blues were Scott Stevens for his 1 season and Gino Cavallini.
