Wow.......consider my mind officially blown. What an incredible actress/singer she is. Good grief I can't even wrap my head around how perfect that performance was!! If only I had the money to fly on down to Australia and see her and Lucy in Wicked, I think my life would be complete.

@blazedhearts and @larryemdur101 how many times have you seen Jemma as Elphaba? Because having seen her 17 times, that was the BEST Defying Gravity i've heard from her! She brought back the 'how I' riff which i've only heard once before and i'm pretty sure she went up an octave higher at the end! I've only heard her do one DG that comes close to this! Plus she did so much more in the performance then normal to make it a special final show for the audience... sorry, but yeah don't agree with you!

@ellenpatrice23 I've seen her as Elphaba 20 times in both Sydney and Melbourne. I'm not saying it wasn't good because it was but I think her DG on the last Wed mat was much much better. I saw Patrice's last show the night before and she ramped her DG up massively so I was expecting more from Jemma.

@elphabaten .... I dont think so for Wicked. I saw in an interview with Stephen Shwartz that he encourage each actress that comes through Glinda or Elphaba to make it their own and toss it around and do what they want with it (songs and such), of course they'd stic to the staging and stuff.

@LarryEmdur101 I have to agree. Jemma is such an amazingly consistent person, but this wasnt much of a "final performance".

Final performances are generally just full-out crazy and spectacular, but this wasnt any different from her regular shows except for the annoying screaming girls.
