I can't believe that anyone is clapping that education shouldn't be a right, I am willing to bet that 90% or more went to public schools in the US.

@christo930 The constitution guarantees us the RIGHT to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, anything beyond that can be construed as an entitlement or socialism...what other things would you call rights?? Healthcare?? Social Security?? Welfare?? Seems the middle class always has to pay for RIGHTS. I wonder what you do for a living??

@maltman4101 Have you ever seen what a society looks like with no education? Obviously the word right might be a little strong, but it takes a lot of balls for people educated in the public school system to want to cheat the next generation out of education. As for SS, yes it is a right, I paid into it all my life and I expect to be reimbursed. I would rather not pay for HC for someone else, but I don't want them to die ether, especially children. I work in IT as if were any of your business.

@christo930 just to ease your mind a little, Ron Paul did mention in another speach about his ideals and how they will work. no one is going to die or kids growing up illiterate. there will still be state and local government and that's the level he think is nesessary to dictate healthcare and education. the sky isn't going to fall just because he removes "federal" mandates. cheers! :)

@LucidDream101 I think there should be certain federal standards so we don't get creationism taught in schools, but beyond that, yes I think education should at the local and state level. We want our schools to be places of learning, not biblical indoctrination centers.

@christo930 well don't you think we're seeing that now? people telling us what we can and cannot do albeit the US flag, constitution, biblical references, and pledge of allegiance isn't good enough to satisfy what is supposedly 'politically correct'? that's why the fed should just get the hell out of our business and do what they're supposed to do. if you're in a state that is doing something you don't like than move to a different one, vote the asshole out of office, or write to congress.

@LucidDream101 You might want to remove the extra post. It's called equal protection and the first amendment. As recently as 2005 a PA judge (dover pa) ruled that ID is just creationism re-branded Bible study is allowed in class as long as it is as a literature or mythology course or even comparative religion. The pledge was a marketing ploy from a flag company and congress adopted it many years later and added under god in the 50's. It's got to go.God does not belong in our public institutions.

I'm optomistic about the awakening BUT I'm realistic about the real chances of Dr. Paul to effect change we need in Washington. He is a lone voice and IF by some miracle he was elected he would have BOTH heads of the one large political big govt party against him not to mention the media and the big Wall Street banksters. He would be our next assasinated president....check the history of why there were 3 attempts on the life of president Andrew Jackson

How do we get him in if the GOP will not give him the time of day. I have e-mailed the GOP on this issue a few times and let the know I would not vote for Perry or Romney, I hope everyone will do the same and put pressure on them.

Bachman and Romney are also right wingers and we don't need any more right wingers and if Paul doesn't get the nomination (which is certain, even if won 50 primaries), I am going to vote straight D for the first time in my life, you should too.
