know what i am only 9 and my rabbit loves me when i go near her or sit near her she either jumps on me or licks my hand, legs and face lol she's a full grown rabbit 2 yrs old i tried being bit but not anymore i spend time with bunny everyday lol .
No. She had diarrhea for a week and wasn't eating at all. So I started feeding her baby food. The vet said they get diarrhea when they don't get enough fiber in their diets. She wasn't eating at all, so obviously she wasn't getting any fiber. I was feeding her carrots. It should have helped. But she was old and just wasn't going to make it.
ALSO, couple more things, they dont rip up crap, just gotta buy them something to chew on.. that will keep them busy then ripping ur stuff up. also... THERE CUTE AND CUDDLEY!! ^-^
I'm just concerned about the many people who every year, buy a cute little Easter bunny, and within weeks, they're back in pet stores or at the humane society. But yes, they can be cute and cuddly... when they're in the mood for it ;) That's rabbitude for you! =)
ok this is all lies... first, if you buy a rabbit and keep it in the cage 24/7... dont buy a rabbit... you pay know attention to it... YEA there going to be wild... you have to pay attention to it.. they will calm down, we have 8 rabbits and they all are calm. because we pay attention to it. YOU DO NOT have to let them pick the spot to go to the bathroom, if you think changing the litter box every day and giving them water and food dont buy a rabbit. because they wont be healthy.
You obviously have not taken the time to watch the other videos about my pets. It's a huge mistake to jump in on one video that's been posted by someone who has two years of videos.
Bunnys are evil! My rabbit, Ohtmeal(long story), demanded she lay in front of the fireplace. She would beat me to death whenever I knelt there to load or light the fireplace in winter. She couldnt wait for the heat to come, she wanted it NOW! She would bite my ankles if she saw I had a sandwich until I gave her some.
I don't know. I got her from one of those places where they keep animals that are going to be destroyed if someone doesn't volunteer to house them while waiting for adoption. She appeared to be almost grown ... "teenagerish" lol She filled out shortly thereafter. She was actually precious a lot of the time. She loved a good cuddle and attention.
Sounds like she's acting as if she had been abused =( Have you taken her to a vet? If she hasn't been spayed, she needs to be. And she has obviously decided the fireplace area is her space. Mine tried that in my family room, but she never hit me =/ But she did give me warning thumps with her back feet on the floor. I resolved that by laying down on the floor right beside her, then she decided I was a playground. She would jump over me and run around me and sit on my back =)
Worse Easter gift than bunnies are chicks. Some rabbits make fine pets, and you do make a good point, people should always learn about an animal and the care they need before getting one. Chicks and ducklings rarely survive, most folks don't know how to care for them, and children get bored with them pretty quickly.
Someone on my real estate blog said the same thing. They had found a box of baby ducklings in the road, where someone had thrown them. One of them had to be euthanized, but they kept the other 2, since they lived on a lake. Thank God for people who are willing to take care of other people's stupidity.
LOL at the Pomeranian. Yeah. Oreo liked to dig at the carpet and the blankets, and the towels we put in her cage for bedding. But my cats do it too. At least she was like a dog, digging a big hole.
I like it. But I'm going to do a little tweaking when I get a chance. I need one more image for your video and am having to dig through all your videos!
ROFL! I told them NOT to put the tree up last Christmas because I'm always the one to have to do all the work. It took my 7.5 hours to decorate it! So I told them I wasn't taking it down until Easter. HAH! I showed them!
Okay after all that work you should be able to keep it up that long! :-) Your daughter could have taken it down instead of filming it! But that was good!!!
I know! She should have her own bratty channel! But they know better than to take it down. I carefully pack everything back in it's original box, roll the ribbon back around the spools, lay the bows neatly in their own box, put all the silk flowers in another box, etc., etc. And some of the containers don't go in the attic because it gets so hot up there during the summer. So I have to organize it all =/ OCD to the max!
Ever watch M*A*S*H TV series? Character Frank Burns used the line (I don't chew my cabbage twice) after being asked to repeat something that he had said.
Another blooper video? LOL - well, there's bound to be enough material for it.
Rabbits have never appeared to be cuddly to me, even as a kid. I never got what people were talking about there.
And three cheers for getting ALL pets spayed/neutered! I've lived with dogs who weren't fixed OR really allowed to "do something about it" and they become insane little monsters. NO THANKS!
The cool thing about buying a bunny for your kid for easter is that when they're tired of it you can have it for dinner! :)
(JK)
I had a rabbit once. Although he was potty trained, he chewed everything in the house, including power cords... I ended up donating him to a rabbit breeder. I'm sure he was happy about the outcome, considering he was to become a stud rabbit.
If it's a baby, maybe you can train it... I hope. Just remember, they will chew on everything they can find! I have one lamp that's useless because Oreo chewed on the cord. =/
Great video Lisa! I just got back from the pet store from buying Riley some pellets. I'm really sad because they had about a dozen bunnies and all these colorful posters of bunnies. I wish I could stand at the door and tell people NOT to buy these bunnies but I'd probably get arrested.
They need to be altered because both sexes will get cancer. Altering them doubles their lifespan. Plus altering them will most likely stop them from marking their territory. (peeing!)
Many pet stores care more about making money than they do about the animals. BUT, we have one in Daytona that won't sell ANY rabbits around Easter! And I didn't realize that both sexes could get cancer from not being "fixed". But the spaying didn't stop Oreo from peeing around her cage. However, I think it's because the cat kept getting on top of it. It was kinda funny. Oreo would see the cat on her cage and grunt at her and thump her back feet on the ground. The cat just went to sleep. LOL!
I can't believe how many people buy any kind of pet impulsively. I don't know why people don't understand that it's a living thing. I thought long and hard before adopting any pet I've ever had.
And good for you! I still buy books about the pets I've had for years. I'm fascinated by each little thing they do. I want to know what it all means, in their language =)
Thank you so much for making this video to help get the word out about "rabbitude" = ) Yup-Ellie sure does have "rabbitude" = P (she's chewing the rug as we speak = P I hope you have a great Easter = )
HAHAHAAAA! I got a visual of Ellie and the rug. LOL! If anyone can deter people from buying a "cute little bunny" for Easter, it will be Ellie. I'm glad she has a home with someone like you, who appreciates all her unique personality traits, and even throws her a birthday party =D
Just like most animals, they can be a lot of work. Especially when they get sick. And it's hard to find veterinarians that know what they're doing with small animals.
Thank you for this video. I use to be in the pet industry, and a few weeks after Easter, we would get bunnies, Chicks, and ducks abandoned at the front door of the pet store. More bunnies, though. The majority of the ducks were abandoned at the park, where there is a lake. We had to rescue a lot of them.
It's really sad =( I'm hoping enough videos will be posted to deter people from making these stupid mistakes. Common sense seems to be a lost character trait.
Considering I don't have any small children, I don't think we'll be getting many eggs, unless Brittany decides to participate in an egg hunt. I wouldn't put it past her =/
That trick that you talked about with putting the towel over the eyes and how that keeps them calm... It's the same thing that professionals do with snakes when they capture them. There's something about having the eyes covered that keeps them from freaking out.

My last bunny was pretty easy to care for, until the last year when she kept getting sick. But they're not good pets for children. They're too easily frightened.
Automovlogging, as Lemonette calls it, is the best way to vlog =)
Thank you for addressing this VERY important topic of giving people pets for holidays, they also can apply this to kittens and dogs, the pet is not a disposable toy.
I got my first rabbit because my boyfriend at the time, that it was a great idea to give me one for Easter. He was sweet enough. But then I moved and my apartment manager didn't allow pets. I kept him for a couple of months, hoping I could get away with it, but the manager finally put his foot down. Fortunately, my sister already had one rabbit, so she took mine too.
Sounds like some great advice. Actually no pet should be given out of the blue as a gift unless you *know* ahead of time that it's something the person wants and wants to keep. In other words, NO suprise pet gifts!!!
You don't believe in spaying and neutering? I can't imagine what the feral cat population, as well as the spread of feline leukemia would be, if people didn't spay and neuter them.
And I'll make sure my husband (he's an usher at church) puts you baggage *cough* in a safe place during the service. LOL
I've heard that shelters are swamped with rabbits and chicks in the weeks and months following Easter--presumably from those who thought they'd be good gifts for children.
I figure why ever go to a pet store when there are plenty of animals of all types who need homes? Then you will probably get one that's already spayed/neutered and immunized...our cat was also declawed because the previous owner had had it done. But I do understand getting certain dogs from a breeder.
We got our oldest cat from the humane society. My guinea pigs I usually do get from the pet store since they usually know their history. And my other kitty was abandoned in a vacant house. I found him when I was showing the house. It's a peril of the job =/ You never know when you'll end up with a new pet.
You know a lot of churches in Japan go the cementary on Easter Sunday as a part of worship to celebrate the promise of the resurrection. It's really rather moving. I know I'll be remembering my Grandma Schmitdt and all the delicious things she cooked for me.
That's a pleasant thought. Actually, my bunny never peed on me, and my piggies only did it when they were really young. As they got older, they learned to hold it until they were back in their cage. And as I learned each of their personalities, I got to learn each one's signal that they had to go right now! LOL
know what i am only 9 and my rabbit loves me when i go near her or sit near her she either jumps on me or licks my hand, legs and face lol she's a full grown rabbit 2 yrs old i tried being bit but not anymore i spend time with bunny everyday lol .

Easter and Rabbits.
This brings back childhood memories of family gatherings. My Grandma Schmidt made a really delicious Hasenpfeffer stew. Happy Easter!

You're really not a very nice person, are you?

You know a lot of churches in Japan go the cementary on Easter Sunday as a part of worship to celebrate the promise of the resurrection. It's really rather moving. I know I'll be remembering my Grandma Schmitdt and all the delicious things she cooked for me.

That's a pleasant thought. Actually, my bunny never peed on me, and my piggies only did it when they were really young. As they got older, they learned to hold it until they were back in their cage. And as I learned each of their personalities, I got to learn each one's signal that they had to go right now! LOL
