You're right. Bestial and Morbid were death metal and Schizophrenia was death/thrash. Beneath The Remains and Arise were thrash but after that it went downhill and the groove/nu-metal sound became their new style on Chaos AD and Roots. Pantera didn't really hit that scene till Trendshit.
