  • the battle.. the tried and true fight to see which man will fall asleep first!! They're both so.. TIRED!!

  • Valentine really forced Santana to step his game up when they started feuding over the Intercontinental Championship, because Santana respected Valentine's style. I fondly remember how cautious and how reluctant Santana would be to speed up the pace of his matches when he received his first big singles push in 1984. He was a great wrestler, but Santana could be extremely boring to watch, especially if he was too cautious. Valentine motivated Santana to step his game up. I'll never forget that.

  • yo people, easy on gregg.its like 40 yrs later...he's still alive.

  • Valentine is a complete loser. His poorly-executed finisher hurt so many wrestlers that nobody would work with him anymore. You treat people like crap, you injure people, and the world responds by saying - you suck! What a complete moron. Don't believe me? Ask anyone that ever worked with him. Oh and he looks like Archie Bunker wearing a wig. Tito - much respect.

  • greg looks like a battered housewife speaking out against his abusive husband

  • @GoTarryn hahahhaha

  • People forget, this was a feud that major over in a big way back then. I remember when they televised the 'blowoff' match in the cage (something rarely seen on TV in those days), and fans going apeshit when Santana won the I-C belt back.

  • Greg the Hammer looks like his loving the oxys.

  • I ran into Greg Valentine the other day, I guess I said something wrong when I was like "Hey Hammer can I get your autograph." He just looked at me grunted and said "Fuck off you stupid mark."

  • @perkoff really?

  • @perkoff I would have told him.. "Whatever has-been.. "

  • two awesome legends

  • I have had the pleasure of working with Tito and Greg, and becoming friends with Greg... Two awesome individuals... They were great workers, and laid it all on the line, night after night. I am still waiting for Greg to apply the figure 4 to me!

  • this interview is as interesting as a warrior hogan match

  • i also agree that greg the hammer valentine had the best figure four leg lock. i think that santana learned it from him.

  • when fueds really meant something and the crowd bought it

  • @oscarforce1 all feuds in the 80s were awesome and that is when wrestling was actually good . the golden days of wrestling as they called it.

  • Valentine looks like one of Thor's turds lol

  • OMG! greg looks like hammered shit these days!

  • @HarryPalma True but at least he doesn't got baling spots like hbk did, lol.

  • Tito looks good. Greg? Well, I will always have my memories. Both were terrific Intercontinental Champs, back when that meant a shit.

  • i think its cool that greg valentine kept his long hair all of these years

  • lol. these guys are talking like wrestling is real. lol

  • @lukecage34 No they're not. I have this interview & they never talk like it's real. The two promos at the end are there responses to the question "What would a promo for one of your matches sound like?" (or something like that). And if they're talking like it's real, then was Santana talking about how they were being told about what the return match would be?

  • Tito looked liked he lived a clean life. The guy looks good .

  • @jabmalassie ...i think he was one of the few who didn't indulge in steroid use back then...god knows everyone else did! could be why he didn't become a "main eventer" since vince favors the big muscly guys. (not to take away just how great he really was)

  • The one question I have to ask after watching this video: why does Greg the Hammer Valentine still wear sleeveless shirts with his old lady arms?

  • @terracottapie why do you ask such stupid cowardly questions behind your keyboard? if you want to know so much go look up Valentine and ask him. I doubt you would because most people on youtube are a bunch of shit talking pussies but go ahead and ask him. he would probably give you a chop that would know you out of your shoes... with his old lady arms

  • @nexivdr haha, nice

  • @terracottapie Knock

  • Valentine, Beefcake, HTM..those guys were the worst to get an autograph from...they acted like your an inconvience for them..Hey, do yourself a favor dudes, just be glad there are people who still give a rats patootie about them...now I wonder why we do

  • Never cant believed he had the IC title at wrestlemania this guy was a joke the 80 's version of shreik

  • Look, Greg did a show in a town near me. I think it was Carolina Championship Wrestling. Anyway, he was sitting at a table signing autographs and I had this event brochure that I wanted him to sign so I got in line. When its my turn to get an autograph he waves his hand once from side to side as if to say "get that shit outta here". I didnt know what he meant so I stood there for a second and he said very meanly " IM not signing those!!". He should be happy people still care, what a prick

  • @hailwindham keep in mind these guys came from an era VERY different from the last 15-20 years. they seriously didn't make a lot of money and now probably don't have a lot to live on for retirement, etc. any money they made back then went up their nose or to hotel rooms (wrestling companies paid per show, not accommodations, etc). a lot of the same ways are still in place, but they make more annually, rather than get paid per show. that was something vince was smart to implement-contracts.

  • @viciouscanadianvixen ted turner had contracts before vince.

  • @nexivdr ...oh ok...sure he did...try again. ted turner hadn't even purchased the rights to wcw before vince began using them.

  • @hailwindham That's unfortunate. Was that the 1st & only time you met "The Hammer"? I myself have heard he's very nice & accomodating to his fans. I can only guess perhaps that he was having a bad day & was irritable as we all get at times when having a bad day. Still, when you finally get to meet for the first time someone who's work you've admired for many years & he treats you in that manner (even if it's not personal), it is a huge disappointment.

  • Tito santano is my Spanish teacher! he's mr solis, he's funny to

  • I don't know what it is but Greg Valentine just looks depressed all the time. I saw him a few months ago at Wizard World Chicago and he just really looked like he didn't want to be there. I wanted to go over and say hi but I just felt like I should leave him alone. Could just be his natural expression though. Some people look that way and it's not an indicator of their mood.

  • @D2Kprime that's greg's facial expression all the time. one reason he was always a heel. he has a natural "scowl". you should have gone up to him. he's a very nice person to talk to. he'll talk your ears off about wrestling if you let him. i know this because i, like you, thought the same thing when i first saw him many years ago. i just went up and spoke. he's a good Christian man with a huge heart. learned alot about him through him. great flair stories he told as well.

  • @stansimms72 : Well that is good to hear. Maybe I will go up to him next time assuming he's there. Another reason I didn't want to go over there is because the Honky Tonk Man was also there and he was kinda being a prick. Like you I had a similar experience when I met Jerry Lawler at C2E2 last year. He was very nice. Only charged me 5 bucks to take a picture with him. He talked with me for about 10 minutes. Told me some interesting things about Vince McMahon I didn't know.

  • @D2Kprime funny you mention that. i thought Honky Tonk Man was a prick as well. I actually told him he was sorry. He actually wanted to charge me 5 bucks to take a picture with him with MY camera. Have you ever met Jimmy Valiant? He's just as bad. He's so money hungry I think he'd try to get blood from a turnip. Nice guy to talk to about the old days but, he's constantly money this money that.

  • @stansimms72 : Well, 5 bucks for a picture isn't a bad deal. Jerry Lawler charged me that when I took a picture with him with my camera at C2E2. However, most of the wrestlers were charging like 35 bucks for pictures at Wizard World. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't by a picture from Kevin Nash that had the entire Kliq on it for 25 bucks. That would have been worth the money. He also had a picture of himself in the 'Super Shredder' costume from TMNT 2: Secret Of the Ooze.

  • Valentine-Santana feud is one of the top 10 greatest feuds in pro wrestling history

  • hhh looks very diff

  • Greg Valentine and Tito Santana -are- professional wrestling

  • 1:33 The crowd got quiet? Wow...They probably weren't sure if Greg Valentine really did break his leg...

  • I would rather slap my momma than take a punch from "The Hammer"

  • These two were Excellent Tactical wrestlers. Their matches were very entertaining. Guys like those two and Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Dynamite Kid, Jimmy Snuka, among some others were very good and entertaining 'In the Ring' and didnt have to over-do the 'Roids and drama story lines(although they did some of each). This was WWE/F's first and probably best Golden Age for a reason.

  • I love the music in the background..

  • Doesn't Greg Valentine play in Slayer???

  • @LSweet2007 Dude Really? Greg Valentine never played in Slayer. You're confusing him with Jeff Hanneman

  • I have to say production on videos like this is getting better and better man

  • wow this is cool....im gonna watch all of these.

  • "'BodyDonnas'-V-'Horowitz'" is kinda my "dream" 1 of these "My Side Of The Story"...w/ Tammy/Sunny repping her/Cris Candido/even Tom "Zip" Pritchard...that would be VERY COOL!!!!!...imh&ho...

  • greg the hammer valentine looks like this fat old bitch I used to work with named Sherry. Well... she wasn't that old, maybe 40 or so, but you could tell she had been smoking cig's and drinking until she passes out every night.

  • @violentwilliam Used to work with...

    riiight.

  • When they shake hands it looks like Greg is gonna slap Tito

  • i miss shit like this

  • the way this video was edited is annoying as fuck!

  • @stndrds79

I agree. There's no way you can get feel for the interview if they only say 3 words a clip.

  • powerful statement from valentine when he said 'me and tito didn't need hogan to headline the card'. ashame that valentine was bogged down for nearly two years by having to run around with brutus fruitcake though(although the dream team was good)

  • What is this? I thought it was real at first and then realized it was a couple of trailer trash actors who fake everything. The fat dude looks like he is drugged out on pain killers and scotch/

  • no they don't fake everything they hit each other legit asshole!

  • IMO, the Valentine/Santana fued was the last great WWF/E fued before the WWF/E went sports entertainment..

  • Greg and Tito had a HOT feud going on at the time of Wrestlemania but they chose not to put the match on the card which I thought was a big mistake. Does anyone know why? Instead Valentine wrestled JYD and Tito wrestled some jobber by the name of The Executioner.

  • @mongoose704 According to Vince, he has never made a mistake in his life mate.

  • @mike1964180

    Nonsense,

only Chuck Norris has never made a mistake.

  • @mongoose704 Probably because they afraid Valentine vs Santana would've upstaged the main event (and it probably would've). And The Executioner was "Playboy" Buddy Rose in a mask.

  • @FerretJohn Odd considering how important this event was to the WWF, how worried Vince was about it that Vince wouldn't throw everything at it just in case the main event didn't come off well which was a possibility with Mr. T. wrestling. At least with Valentine-Santana even upstaging it, you're guarnateed a good show with good work and psychology and it won't come off looking fake.

I never knew that about the 'cutioner.

  • Valentine is a badass.

    He´ll stretch your ass.

  • That was hammer, Too legit to quit

  • Awesome. 2 of the best.

  • HBK does a perfect figure 4 leg lock and he also has his own variation of it as well that looks awesome.

  • two great ic champs

  • Funny thing is though, these maybe somewhat kayfabed, but these two had genuine heat with each other.

  • Seems like they have a lot of class...respect for each other....they may not like each other but they put on some great matches...two real pros

  • Two great wrestlers. Thanks for posting the video.

  • exactly bro!!! way too many wrestlers have the same damn builds!!! Look up the Florida Champ Wrestling website, And it looks like a goddamm chip and dales poster. So fuckin gay!! At least we still have Finlay with his tuff build.

  • greg the hammer looks alt like triple h, santana looks like hercules

  • Its possible they had gfamily ties....rock and haku and rikishi all related...x pac and justib credible related...Hawk and Jesse ventura related...We see first second and third gen wrestlers come through all the time..big family business.

  • @punky7dunk333 very true

  • I miss these choad wrestlers like Valentine, WWE needs to bring them back, too many people now have the same build. mix it up

  • wow

  • Greg the hammer was driving and i was a passenger. Then wendy richter and fabulous moolah came into the car. halfway, greg the hammer started to smoke marijuana. then i started to smoke marijuana cause i like to smoke marijuana...............................

  • Tito was a great wrestler, he had a lot of talent in the ring, Vince should have given him more credit, Greg was near the top when he was with NWA mid-atlantic, but was never pushed to the level he should have when he got to the WWF Vince was to tied up in pushing Hogan to the top.

  • I met them at WWE Axxess in Houston. I told them that they carried the card. They matched each other move for move, hold for hold. Their matches were far more entertaining than Hulk Hogan's Match. Both of these guys should have become World Heavyweight Champions but neither one was ever given the opportunity.

  • yes when it comes to pure wrestling talent, Valentine, and Santana were two of the best, but at that time Vince had a vision of a super hero or hollywood star, thats why hogan was pushed so hard and the true in ring performers were left out, its wrong but money overtook talent

  • It's NOT wrong...it's business. It's like movie studios that will put a Forest Whitaker movie over a Will Smith movie because Whitaker is a better actor. Meanwhile, Smith makes over $100 million in EVERYTHING he does. That's not good business sense. If they were so great, it would've merited them being top of the bill guys. I get tired of hearing that certain guys should've been world champions. No...that belt was merely a symbol of someone that was the top draw in the business. That was Hogan

  • This should bring Tito back - he looked like he kept himself in great shape!

  • Last time I saw Tito was probably in like 2001, he was my gym teacher when I was in 6th grade, and he was in amazing shape then... I would love to see him again.

  • when the ic belt meant alot

  • Truthfully, the IC belt was never the same after Ultimate Sandbagger won it.

  • I loved Greg and Titos matches especialy the cage match.

  • Greg Valentine did the figure 4 better than Ric Flair

  • Wow, somebody who agrees with me. Greg the Hammer Valentine had the best Figure 4 Leg Lock. Yes, it was better than Ric Flair's.

  • He also has one of the better "fall on his face" collapses too hahaha Loved it when he did that.

  • I can think of a couple wrestlers that had better figure 4's than Flair actually, and yes Valentine was one of them, the other is Keiji Mutoh

  • @JuliusC1973 Hell yeah man! I agree 100%

  • @JuliusC1973 Greg was a fire plug of a man.... he wasn't the biggest, strongest but you know he was one of the toughest SoBs to enter that ring.

  • @JuliusC1973 yea he actually locks it..flair just holds it

  • @JuliusC1973 Neither compared to Johnny Powers "Powerlock." Gregs father Johnny , wasnt too damn bad either.

  • @JuliusC1973 I was never a Valentine fan, but I can't deny that his figure 4 was tighter than size 10 spandex on Bundy.

  • @JuliusC1973 Flair was KING of the figure 4, he "put wrestlers out" of wrestling with that move.

  • The Hammer looks like he could be the fifth head on Mt. Rushmore.

  • Wat da fuk is this

  • Rest in peace? Greg Valentine isn't dead

  • The Hammer.

    Those were the days.

    Inter-Continental battles.

    The figure 4.

Great job on this whoever did it.

I would think there is a HUGE market for documentary type stuff with these old wrestlers from the 80's.

    Everybody loves nostalgia.

  • this is GREAT shit man dont get me wrong, but kill the background music.

thank you very much for bringing us all the great stuff though!

  • 2 Greats!

  • I have a friend who took a piss in an airport right next to Greg Valentine.

    True story.

  • HAHA! Thats funny I met him in an airport in chicago when I was 9!

  • a lot of wrestlers of today, could learn a ton of stuff from thease legends of the mat.

  • thats my spanish teacher.

  • I remember watching Greg Valentine in the early 1970's when he was wrestling in the Cleveland-Buffalo area. He was only in his early 20's. I consider him to be one of the greatest wrestler of all-time.

  • Greg Valentine looks like a bulldog.

  • I think the Hammer is looking good at his age. Bloody good wrestler I thought. I remember nearly 20y ago he dyed his hair black cos he and Honky Tonk Man had a tag team, fuck he looked silly. Even he must have thought so

  • WOW Greg The Hammer Valentine rules man !!!!

  • what happen?

  • Ha tido Santana is my Spanish Teacher At my SCHOOL

  • paul orndoff would have been a great horsemen I wonder why they never did that back then?

  • Well the Horsemen were an NWA later WCW gimmick. Paul Orndorff joined WCW in 1990 and feuded against the horsemen with the dudes with attitude. Orndorff the next time he was in WCW was in 1992 when Flair was in the WWF. After that Orndorff again encountered the horsemen again on Nitro in 1995. Agree he seemed a fit and this came up in the last angle he did with them on Nitro before he retired.

  • I don't know. Orndorff was not a team guy. But, I could see him being similar to Tully Blanchard if he was with the group.

  • the ending was really tight when they were badmouthing each other and then it shows that they were in the same room the whole time filming together and then they get up and shake each other's hand!

  • GTH is pretty cute nowadays. LOL

  • god valentines lookin ruff hell i look better than him

  • these two icons are great

  • Great to see them.

  • HAHA Mr. Solis!!! Tito Santana used to be my spanish teacher in 8th grade wooo

  • Greg Valentine's face is so weathered that his head could be placed on Mount Rushmore and no one would be the wiser.

  • LMAO @ Mount Rushmore!! So true, NJMFan.

  • "Valentine... thats a mirror into the future for HHH"

hahahahahaha!!!! ive never thought of that, to bad for stephanie lol

  • Greg Valentine is one of the ugliest people I've ever seen.

  • Valentine... thats a mirror into the future for HHH

  • hillarious

  • Hammer was great. An all time fav of mine.

  • This is considered instigating. Now they are gonna be at each others throats again.

  • One of the greatest fueds of all time.

  • maybe they should also do snuka and muraco

  • Greg Valentine looks like Cookie from the Bozo Show.

  • Greg's lookin' rough...

    *Talks to Ron Simmons*

    DAMN.

  • I think if these two feuded today or even ten years ago during the attitude era, Tito would have been the heel and Valentine would have been the face no doubt.

  • bro, it's FAKE!!!! any bum can be made into the greatest. Floyd Mayweather beat the BIG SHOW!! lol

  • Two icons of the WWF who were very underrated

  • @mambapito.....Just saw The hammer at Horror con in cherry hill, NJ last March...He was and still is my favorite all time....still has it all upstairs, but you can tell his age now....it was great to finally meet him!

  • @throbbin87 sweet! What was he doing at Horror Fest? Was he a guest or just a regular attendee?

  • @mambapito....He was a guest, they have one or two wrestlers every year. This was in March of this year, in August of 09 it was the Iron Shiek....

  • Warolrd kicked both there asses

  • The Hammer, one of the greatest to not win the World Championship.

  • Roddy Piper, Scott Hall (when healthy) too Mr. Perfect won the AWA World Championship so not sure that counts :(

  • greg valentine looks like hhh 10 years from know

  • The WWF from the early and mid 80's was my favorite era (Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, WWF cartoons, WWF ice cream bars, thumbwrestlers, Saturday Night's Main Event, and of course Valentine & Beefcake, and Strike Force)!

  • Lol I saw Greg wrestle a couple of years ago.

  • Got a point

  • Kayfabe Productions

  • Greg sucks ass!! When I was a kid he hasseled me over a couple of bucks for an autograph and brutis beafcake told him to leave me alone..I wish I could meet him now..I would stomp his old ASS!!!

  • they need to have a re-match Greg Valentine vs Tito Santana in wwe for one night only

  • its a work all a work baby why didnt somebody tell me it was all a work

  • Kind of a Grumpy Old Men version of a wrestling promo. Gotta love the continuing animosity... Hell, I'd still watch a match between them!

  • Tito is my spanish teacher!

  • u 2

  • The figure four leglock was one of my favorite finishing moves. I think Valentine originated the move. Then Tito Santana and Ric Flair started doing it as well. But all three are great wrestlers nevertheless.

  • what?????omg!!!what about the nature boy buddy rodgers?

  • Buddy Rogers may very well have originated the figure four. I'm not too familiar with him. I'm not too familiar with Nature Boy Buddy Rogers

  • Look at Greg Valentine really close. That's what Triple H is going to look like in 15-20 yrs or so.

  • I don't think so, the difference is, HHH is married to the boss' daughter. I don't think he will be bumpin' too much longer. He doesn't have to. He can sit backstage, or in headquarters and write script. He doesn't need to work.

  • Even worse is that HHH has been put over past what is is really due. Another blow hard sports entertainment disaster & embarassment IMO.

  • This was the feud that first drew me into wrestling. Tito's knee being torn up, Valentine smashing the IC title belt... Classic shit.

  • Tito is my spanish teacher, and basketball coach (not a very good one) hes also a lunch aide!! ZOMGROFLLLLLL

  • Greg Valentine looks like a battered housewife waiting for her clothes to dry at the laundry mat.
