This was one of my favourites in the 50's ... All us young'uns used to imitate him alond with Al Jolson (and I still do, all these years later as you may have noticed here on YouTube) - I bought his first 78 recording of this song; which was a very soft and gentle affair ... and then bought this 78 when it was released and what a pleasure to hear it again, plus his wonderful pianist Benny Payne telling him to "Sing the song man, sing the song" ... Thanks for uploading this gem,

my parents took me out New Year's Eve when I was about 14 to see him and I couldn't understand why he was singing a bunch of Jewish songs,(I'm Black). My Mom educated me at an early age AND explained he was playing to the folks THAT PAID TO SEE HIM!!!!!! Smart man.

It's like a chocolate volcanoe overflowing in a soft larva,. No adventure like this in singing any more. I think the lights went out with the likes of Daniels and SDJunior, B Ekstien etc
